Pros

Value for Money, easy process automation, simple user interface, easy to understand, and skilled manpower is not required to perform the task

Cons

Product information is required in detail, along with examples & visuals. This will help to understand overall product capabilities.

### "Best bang for the buck!"

June 4, 2026

5.0

I am more of a user but it is pretty feature full and the price is great. I have been told support is great. There is a live chat in the web UI....great for a quick question! Way faster than opening a ticket.

Pros

Value for the money, snmp walking the network, series and model of device displayed, diffs of configs

Cons

Would like to see: auto grouping for devices, default alarm examples, exclude examples for configs (Ie. easy way to skip time stamp at top of config), Customize/add columns in search output \[when doing an advanced search of configs the device is only shown by IP (you have to click on the IP to get the device hostname and I want to see hostname at initial search)\]

In terms of config back-up and configlets it has done fantastic job whereas in terms of compliance and vulnerabilities it is not up to the mark.

Pros

Config back-up set up is the most liked feature in the application

Cons

Since there is the compliance report in the tool it should give the report for all the devices which are on-boarded to tool. In my case it was unable to give the compliance report for the HP Aruba devices

### "Worth consideration in your Network Automation journey."

April 16, 2026

4.0

Overall for just the NCM, the price you pay you do get a lot of features to help you automate your network infrastructure.

Pros

The price and the ease of use. The product has an easy to read GUI. Getting device backups and adding initial credentials is very easy so you can get up and running quickly. Support has been very helpful and are willing to spend the time to get what you need completed. Management of the network is quick and your data protection is taken seriously.

Cons

It uses it's own modified version of Java for it's configuration scripts. I wish that would be a more know language like python. Some of the navigation pages are a bit "glitchy". Like resizing a dashboard or a popup window will actually tail off the bottom of the page.

### "Reliable Solution for Network Configuration Backup and Change Management"

June 3, 2026

4.0

We use to manage network device configurations, automate backups, and track configuration changes across our environment. The solution has helped improve operational efficiency by reducing manual administrative tasks and providing better visibility into network changes. Features such as automated backups, configuration comparison, compliance monitoring, and audit trails have been particularly valuable. While there is room for improvement in the user interface and reporting flexibility, the product delivers good value and has been a reliable part of our network management operations.

Pros

provides centralized management for network device configurations and significantly reduces manual effort through automated backups and change tracking. The version comparison and configuration restore capabilities are very useful during troubleshooting and audit activities. The compliance monitoring and reporting features also help maintain better control over network infrastructure.

Cons

The user interface could be more modern and intuitive, especially for first-time users. Some reports and dashboard customizations require additional configuration to meet specific business requirements. The initial setup and policy configuration may take some time in larger environments, but once configured, the product performs reliably.

Overall, using the has been a positive experience, especially with the ease of initial setup.

Pros

The is especially helpful for getting quick, at-a-glance visuals on backup statuses, backup alerts, and an overall easy to grasp UI.

Cons

A personal nitpick I have of the Manage Engine Network Configuration Manager, is having the SSH option tucked under a Tools menu. Many times I find myself just wanting to start an SSH session directly from the device summary, and not having to navigate to a completely separate menu.

### "Improving the network reliability by automation"

April 25, 2025

4.0

Pros

The automated configuration backup in gives satisfaction. Being aware that device configurations are usually synchronized and can be easily repaired in a short period in the event of any problems has enhanced our disaster recovery plans.

Cons

The firmware vulnerability management appears to be a bit slow in providing the most recent updates of CVE entries. This requires follow-up by manual checking to ensure that all the vulnerabilities are closed as and when they are discovered.

### "Secure our network with intelligent backups"

April 27, 2025

4.0

Pros

The preference for frequent automatic backups across all core devices of the Network Configuration Manager was particularly beneficial in the case of disaster recovery. It was possible for me to store multiple versions of the configuration and you could easily restore the systems.

Cons

The issue is occasional and mostly noticeable during facility maintenance when the real-time configuration comparison might confuse very large multi-context firewalls, thus causing minor delay in the generation of the config diff.

Pros

Network Configuration Manager handling of routine configuration work including mass configuration and auto scheduling have helped to decrease manual labour. This makes it possible for the team to further channel their efforts towards more productive tasks.

Cons

Some of the automation scripts, known as configlets, do not provide extensive failure messages in case of errors. This makes troubleshooting more complicated since finding out the root of the problem needs more examination.

### "Reduces our network configuration and management complexity"

April 23, 2025

4.0

Pros

The opportunity for using Network Configuration Manager for the simultaneous backup of various devices and managing the changes in configuration is a feature that stands out. This has helped us to cut down the time taken to perform most of these tasks manually on the platform.

Cons

Due to the inherent inefficiency of the networking system the software can be slower in carrying out large configuration update across diverse network equipment. This results in a slowdown and it may take time to start making changes in many devices at the same time.

### "Offered useful configuration backup for multi-vendor networks"

April 11, 2025

4.0

I believe that using Network Configuration Manager has made it easier for me in the aspect of compliance and change management. I do not use paper logs or have scripts, which are different from one another.

Pros

I have liked the automatic configuration backup functionality in particular when comparing between different device vendors. It also recognizes changes on the go, stores configurations, and retains historical data; ensuring that I never lose configurations on my devices after updates or manual interjections.

Cons

There was irregularity when it comes to alerting in regards to particular edge routers. At times, the alerts are not fired instantly, thereby delaying the action on unauthorized changes or anomalous behavior in the remote branch devices.

### "Gave me compliance management without all the fuss"

April 9, 2025

4.0

Pros

With regard to the third party management, I use its compliance rule engine to keep me prepared for audit. I set up my own rules according to internal practices, and the system highlights all violations this has become convenient to pass security audit without reviewing each case.

Cons

The te alert system can produce a large number of logs if the alert system is not well fine tuned. It sometimes deluge the syslog server with petty policy violation notification and this needed some tuning of the notification trigger levels.

Pros

In some occasions where I had made changes that affected the network this feature came in handy to sort out the problem. Real-time alerts regarding unauthorized configuration changes were very essential for security purposes. The compliance reports made audits a lot easier to deal with.

Cons

The firmware vulnerability scans at times generated false positives that needed to be checked by the team. The initial device discovery process was also slow when the application occurred in large networks.
