### "Excellent Tool for Network Management and Monitoring"

October 12, 2023

It has given us a chance to monitor our inter-office MPLS traffic.

Pros

It is very detailed, and flexible supporting almost every single networking product. It keeps track of firmware versions of all appliances on your network.

Cons

Very complicated for new novice users. Not for a non-technical person

In terms of config back-up and configlets it has done fantastic job whereas in terms of compliance and vulnerabilities it is not up to the mark.

Pros

Config back-up set up is the most liked feature in the application

Cons

Since there is the compliance report in the tool it should give the report for all the devices which are on-boarded to tool. In my case it was unable to give the compliance report for the HP Aruba devices

Reason for choosing ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager

Ease of implementation and usage

### "NCM - Great so Far"

January 25, 2023

4.0

We are using NCM to make sure we have config backups of our network devices. In the future, we will explore the compliance and syslog change management piece.

Pros

Personally, I like the layout and the many different features. We are just getting started and have only scratched the surface but so far, its been pretty sweet. I would say there is a bit of a learning curve but that comes with most things. With a little trial and error, it is not too bad. That is not to mention support is great (thanks \[sensitive content hidden\]), they respond ASAP and get you to a resolution.

Cons

I think the inventory view could make it a bit more clear on what is managed on what isn't. For example, you might have a device that has the credentials applied and you can attempt to back it up but it might not be "managed". Maybe the icons could be more explanatory initially.

Very positive all the way around, from sales to support the ManageEngine team has been easy to work with. The product setup was fast and easy. Full implementation only took around 4 working hours.

Getting used to the menu organization is taking some time.

### "Network Configuration Manager is a reliable way to backup your network assets"

November 21, 2023

4.0

Overall easy to setup and maintain throughout the years. NCM works efficiently and is fairly reliable. A convenient way to centralize your critical network assets configuration and guarantee an easy recovery in case of disasters or human mistakes.

Pros

The product is easy to set up and understand. The ManageEngine team is always there to help you and support you during the process and after. The product brings tons of features including network assets vulnerabilities management system, configuration backups, and more. It's an affordable piece of software that covers an important part of an IT team day-to-day.

Cons

The lack of support for more specific devices, however ManageEngine often provides support and alternatives. The ability to integrate a wide spectrum of brands and OS would bring to a more competitive level.

### "ManageEngine NCM - Your one-stop Networking configuration tool"

July 21, 2021

3.0

When it comes to PCIDSS compliance, our organization was suffering with configuration backup and auditing. But after proper set of ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager, we were able to comply with all PCIDSS requirements with much ease.

Pros

The most loved feature is ManageEngine NCM is multi vendor supported. We do have Cisco, Juniper and HP switches and still we can use Manage Engine NCM to manage all the switches. And it is same with firewalls too. So it is just one solution for all the networking devices of the organization.

Cons

If the initial setup and configuration can be simplified it will be much better. setup and configuration was not easy as expected. However throughout the initial setup, vendor support was remarkable.

### "ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager"

Pros

This product was simple to deploy and has worked well in our mixed environment. We have Cisco, Fortinet, and Juniper devices and it has worked well with all of them. We have had success using all of the features including backing up configurations, comparing changes to configurations, seeing real time changes, compliance auditing, and firmware vulnerabilities.

Cons

I haven't had an issue with the product, but sometimes the documentation I find for ManageEngine products isn't accurate.

### "Sysadmin reviews a networking product"

February 12, 2024

4.0

Pretty good, I had used this at a previous job when I was a network engineer. Solved our 2 main problems, switch backup, switch upgrades

Pros

Runs on linux, easy to install, does the basics well

Cons

script/macro engine is weak, would prefer a full fledged script language, maybe a python hook. One feature it doesn't have is what we call cdp, its a custom script that will keep track of the switch and its neighbor, it allows allows search by ip or Mac to find physical port.

Reason for choosing ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager

we were manually scripting all the work that manage engine now Does. Way easier to maintain and get people up to speed.
