I was a bit weary at first after using a couple of bigger names but now I'm using it I am enjoying putting in that little bit of extra work to get the same results. Pros I personally do a lot of work using guided lofts and enjoy sketching the cross sections and loft guides using a combination of 2D sketches for each section and 3D sketches guides . Cons Having used more intuitive software it can seem a chore adding constraints but then again it's a good practice to adopt and a discipline that can't hurt even when using larger CAD programs. One review touted Alibre as the best value on the market. While using the free trial I found Alibre to be very intuitive. The tutorial was straightforward and easy to follow. Naturally, some features were more difficult for me to learn than others, however, through persistence I've learned the use of many elements. I say "many elements" because Alibre continues to impress me with its many features. Cons The only disappointment I've experienced so far is a computer "crash" while in the middle of a drawing. However, Alibre's automatic save feature saved me much frustration as I only lost minutes of work rather than hours! Reason for choosing Alibre Design While Fusion 360, Rhino, and AutoCAD, are no doubt excellent programs, they were out of my price range. We are happy with the tool. Pros Drag-and-drop feature: click and bring it to the platform Organize Mesh Data with ease Amazing customer support. Cons Learning curve is really high. We build custom camera/laser inspection systems for manufacturers to do quality control. It has worked great for our needs so far. I would recommend it to anyone working on medium-complex projects. The functionality for the price simply cannot be beat. Pros The interface is responsive and very intuitive. It is very feature-rich. The Boolean operations make it very easy to perform complex modeling including the use of negative space. Compared to its competitors, the price point is unbeatable. I was able to make my customers ideas a reality. Pros I bought this product years ago before it was sold to geomagic. The customer support was always there when needed, which was no often at all due to the softwares excellent functionality. Because of how easy it was to use, I bought the full version and started using it for more complicated projects. I do find limitations though, so unfortunately I also use SolidWorks on the large projects. Have used Solidworks when I was working for a Company. Solidworks is overly complicated and crashed a lot as well as expensive. Alibre is a very cost effective alternative for a company that that does mid level design projects. Pros Simplicity, with most basic tools necessary to complete basic and complex design concepts.
