### "The best way to get your tasks done"

September 20, 2019

4.0

Pros

SkedPal is a time blocking app that automatically schedules tasks in your todo list onto your calendar. This is a great way of turning a growing list of tasks, into a prioritised schedule to get them done. SkedPal does this by automatically taking each of the tasks in your todo lists and inserting it into the available time in your diary or calendar. SkedPal orders the scheduling of each task based on its priority, due date, estimated time needed to complete the task, etc. SkedPal works with your existing Google, Outlook, iCloud, or Exchange calendar. This is great because as SkedPal schedules your tasks into your calendar, those timeslots show as occupied or busy to your colleagues, ensuring that the time remains ringfenced for the intended purpose of getting that task done. When SkedPal is unable to find sufficient time in your calendar for you to get a task done by its due date, it will flag it for your attention. SkedPal has a number of triage options such as reprioritising the task, deferring the due date, adjusting the time map to extend the available hours in a day or week, etc. The key thing is that task deadlines and reminders do not sneek up and surprise you on the due date. Task allocations in your calendar are not static. As new tasks are added, SkedPal is able to adjust and reprioritise how it uses the available time in your calendar to make sure that urgent and important tasks are always scheduled earlier and with sufficient time to get them done.

Cons

SkedPal is able to import tasks items from your existing todo list or task manager app. But, this is a once-off action. SkedPal is a separate task management tool and you have to use it for all your tasks and projects for it to work. The result is that you may end up managing duplicate lists if you have an existing corporate tool that you use or share with your colleagues. I wish that SkedPal could integrate into Google Tasks, Microsoft To-Do, Apple Reminders, or any of the task management apps already in widespread use. The SkedPal desktop app also seems to have a problem with corporate firewalls... i.e. it does not work. This limits its utility within the corporate environment as syncs are often delayed.

### "SkedPal: Takes care of scheduling your tasks so you can remain focused"

August 9, 2020

5.0

SkedPal helps me stay on track and have a better understanding of what my schedule is. It allows me to have a clear view of how much work is on my plate when I discuss new projects with my manager, and more readily discuss timelines. It also lets me get my tasks and the work of scheduling them out of my head, so I can focus on what I'm doing instead of being distracted by that sort of administrative task.

Pros

Hands down my favorite feature is the intelligent time-blocking! I enter tasks with start and/or due dates, and give SkedPal access to see my calendar, as well as time maps for scheduling certain types or categories of work. SkedPal puts together a schedule for me and generates a calendar. Poof! I know what to do and when to do it. AND it tells me if I'm over-booking myself, or if I skip a task, it will reschedule it for me.

Cons

I'm a fan of multiple levels of sub-tasks, which isn't currently supported (though I believe there are future plans to better support sub-tasks). There are plenty of ways to work around this, but it isn't ideal. Also, right now SkedPal is primarily intended to help with the immediate needs and does not schedule more than 21 days out, which means I still need to keep more extended high level schedules elsewhere to manage long term project planning.

### "Extremely intelligent auto-scheduling of tasks"

October 4, 2022

4.0

With other planners/auto-schedulers, I've always felt like, there's no way I can convey everything this app would need to know about my tasks and how I like to use my time to delegate scheduling and have it make smart decisions about what I should work on next. This app can actually do it.

Pros

The combination of nuanced time availability maps, time-budgeted task types, and customizable priorities facilitates extremely intelligent task auto-scheduling. These properties can be assigned directly or inherited from assigned "smart" tags or from parent tasks, meaning new tasks can be quickly auto-assigned all the properties and settings they need to be handled properly. The devs are fast to respond to issues and feedback and engage with users on their Slack channel.

Cons

The app is already feature rich but I wouldn't say feature-complete, and is still maturing.

Reason for choosing SkedPal

This is the only app that gives the results that I want—intelligently time-blocked work schedule on autopilot.

### "Great product with even more potential"

August 17, 2022

4.0

Overall i'm happy with Skedpal and i will use it also in the future

Pros

I really like the auto scheduling feature. It is the reason why i use Skedpal and i think it's the best product that offers this. As i have a lot of parallel projects it allows me the have peace of mind as i use Skedpal as single point of truth and i trust it after 2 years of using it. I also like the NLP feature, but it can be improved.

Cons

the user interface, especially the way how to plan some tasks could be more intuitive and easier. I hope that Skedpal will invest in UX as i think that this will also attract new users. At the moment the UX is a bit tricky. the mobile app needs definetly some work over as some features are not working. Moving a task from the Inbox to a project is clumsy.

Reason for choosing SkedPal

I came to the conclusion that Skedpal is the most matured product. Others look nicer but miss some important features.

### "Broke Freelancer with ADHD uses Skedpal"

May 21, 2022

4.0

I liked it for about a year, and then for some reason I fell out of the habit. Managing the schedule-map (daytime, night time, etc) could be improved as I have trouble with time map overlaps. If the app wasn't so expensive I would probably use it more.

Pros

I appreciate the auto-scheduling of repeat tasks. As I have ADHD and Working-Memory problems, I will often forget things that I am supposed to do every day or once a week. Skedpal acted as my refreshing to-do list.

Cons

I wish it could plan beyond two months at a time, as some events will happen in my future that I want to be ready for, especially for larger projects. This is also an expensive program for a single person to use. It could be a bit more UI friendly for people with ADHD, it's easy for us to fall in the trap of spending more time planning/scheduling and being distracted by the program itself than doing the tasks.

### "Great product, using it everyday, but still isn't replacing my other calendar/task apps."

June 20, 2018

4.0

\- Ability to store all your tasks and activities in a single app - While not limiting yourself to one tool - SkedPal appreciates your calendar events. - Automatic re-scheduling! When you have a packed schedule and skip or delay a task, re-scheduling by hand is the worst. - Decent mobile app, great desktop app.

Pros

Automatic scheduling. There are apps that provide this option, but some lacks functionality and others are overly complicated. SkedPal manages to balance in what I think is a sweet spot. Gmail integration. Nowadays, it's essential for an app to sync/integrate with other services. SkedPal does a great job here. Mobile and desktop. Again, apps like Task managers should be available at many moment when idea or a task pops in. Special thanks to SkedPal's team to covering all bases Uncluttered clean design. For this is very important. Clean design is like a clean desk - it makes my experience with the app much more effective.

Cons

Proper time tracking. SkedPal allows entering time spent on a task, but at the moment this information isn't easy to see and track. I do think that planned time vs effort is a very important metrics that influences the priority of the tasks. Sometimes I really miss a bird's eye view of my tasks. True, I can use filters/backlog, but it's not the most intuitive method. I don't really understand the difference between focus and priority While I understand the limitations of time maps, sometimes weekly schedule for time maps isn't working at all. I.e. sometimes my Saturday becomes workday and SkedPal just skips it for "Working hours" activities. Again, I don't have a solution, but I guess Time Maps dialog should allow to plan a map beyond single week.

### "The task management tool I have used more than any other"

May 21, 2022

5.0

I have a lot of tasks and Skedpal helps me to plan when best to do them. I don't follow it strictly, but rather use it as a guide. It does this better than any other tool I have used.

Pros

It plans my tasks according to my priorities and other commitments, grouping similar work together to help to maintain flow.

Cons

Skedpal is a sophisticated product that needs some time commitment to get it working the way you need. This is not a deficiency in the product but a reflection of the nature of the problem it solves.

### "Auto task scheduling software based on existing calendar events and priorities"

August 17, 2022

Some time to adopt it and understand it but after that it all made sense.

Pros

### "Spend most of your time working, not thinking about working."

August 17, 2022

4.0

Pros

This product has changed my way of planning my projects. I can first offload all of the tasks in my mind, so I don’t have to worry about what is and what is not getting done. I have been more realistic in my planning and better able to gauge how much can be done each week. I also don’t spend as much time time-blocking my tasks, since Skedpal does that for me automatically. So now I can work, instead of thinking about all the things I have to do.

Cons

There is a learning curve with Skedpal, and the menu and options are not the most intuitive. But once you get the hang of it, it becomes easier to use. Sometimes the website lags a bit though.

### "Adds speed and finds me extra time I didn't realize I had "

August 9, 2020

5.0

Some tasks that were scheduled weeks out were automatically brought forward to my current day calendar when my schedule freed up. And got completed! Now that's adding speed to my schedule. Why wait when you can do it today what you're originally scheduled to do tomorrow or weeks or months out. Unless it's a boring or unimportant task. Then you have free time to yourself.

Pros

You only have 24 hours in a day. When you're seeking high levels of productivity from yourself, you need an Assistant who manages your schedule so that you're focused on the tasks and interactions you need to complete. But when you're an executive whose priorities change dynamically with competing priorities, then you need an Assistant who can rearrange your calendar to fit in the tasks, calls and meetings that are most critical. A human Assistant is not efficient anymore to manage your calendar, for the interaction frequency and time required to coordinate. Most calendaring tools are basic and do not accommodate prioritization. I tried Skedpal and it was immediately clear to me that it's an invaluable tool. I've been using it for few months now and very impressed with it's ability to save me time and always keep my calendar up to date with what's most important to me. It integrated easily with Gmail and other calendars. I'd recommend Skedpal for anyone who seeks maximum personal productivity. I've not seen another tool that can match what Skedpal can do.

Cons

I did not see anything I do not like in the tool, but one thing I'll point out -- in the beginning, you do need to get to know the tool + configure so you get the most out of it. So spend an hour or so setting up the tool to suit your preferences and it will reward you daily. Skedpal does make this process easier with some of their onboarding videos.

### "Great tool for managing time and tasks"

August 18, 2022

5.0

Never forget anything, schedule them through timeplans on appropriate times etc. Great!

Pros

The (semi) automatic (re)scheduling of tasks is great

Cons

I'd like to be able to sync tasks with outlook-task and google-tasks, evernote, confluence etc. So adding tasks to the inbox via other systems basically, and then to have them scheduled in agenda via SP. Furthermore, (bug) sometimes two plans are added to a tasks, when one was needed.

### "Excellent Scheduler"

May 7, 2023

5.0

It's been amazing. The longer I use it the more I get the hang of it.

Pros

I like the fact that the developers took the time to think through each possible scenario. There are so many different options to choose from which you can setup to schedule automatically exactly how you would. It saves you a significant amount of energy that you would be ultimately using.

Cons

The learning curve. It's quite difficult to get the hang of. The reason being is because there's so much that comes into play regarding task management and scheduling. And the importance that can have in every day life. To have a software as amazing as skedpal means the developers had to think through and include a ton of features. It wouldn't be such an incredible and valuable tool without these features though.

### "My life-saver"

June 5, 2020

5.0

I'm a very busy business owner / CEO / software developer / father. I struggled with task management for years to the point that the number of open tasks overwhelmed and blocked me mentally. I wanted to try time blocking and stumbled across SkedPal. I was actually very reluctant to try the app, as I didn't believe their concept could ever work. But I gave it a shot, and I was "converted" instantly! SkedPal has literally changed my life overnight. Now I can just throw all my tasks at it and feed it with my general preferences. SkedPal does all the rest. It is better than a personal assistant! I feel like I have more time than ever before. After years of struggling, I finally found my peace of mind!

Pros

\- Super fast task entry with natural language parsing - GTD methodology included with focus view - Automatic re-scheduling of tasks after distractions or unexpected detours - Super flexible recurrence patterns - Problematic tasks are highlighted, no task can be left behind - Time maps enable perfect prioritization of tasks throughout the day according to personal preferences

Cons

There's really nothing negative about SkedPal. There are occasional connection drops after opening the laptop from standby. A quick app restart does the trick.

### "Best way to organize your to-do's"

September 19, 2019

3.0

Great! It is the only to-do app that I have used consistently over a long period of time. Due to the calendar integration and intuitive prioritisation. Since it gives both a list based overview on top of scheduling to do's in your calendar, you really feel like you have full control over your to do's. It also really helps me think about whether something is necessary in the first place. I'm always a bit hesitant to embellish too much as it sounds unrealistic, but this software that has changed the way I think about my workday more than any other app, software or even book.

Pros

SkedPal really integrates with your calendar, and due to the ability to constantly reschedule is incredibly dyanmic. I have found it by far the best way to integrate my to do list in my day-to-day, and really saves a lot of thinking, planning and worry.

Cons

There are some small bugs, such as a flickering screen when switching between projects. It also does not feel so logical that you constantly have to press 'connect' and 'update schedule'. It might be nice if Skedpal could integrate even easier with your working hours as my workweek is very dynamic (updating the time maps week to week is a bit of a hassle, though doable)

### "A game changer!"

August 9, 2020

5.0

I found Skedpal at a time when my client base was growing quickly and I desperately needed a more efficient alternative to a Trello board. Skedpal fulfilled needs I didn’t even know I had- like calendar syncing - and has made me so much more efficient at work.

Pros

What I like most about Skedpal is that it takes care of the schedule juggling for me and helps me stay realistic about my workload and stay on track on a day to day basis. As a freelancer, I juggle multiple client projects with different deadlines. Before I discovered Skedpal, I would spend a ton of time managing my schedule and sorting out priorities. Now, it’s a much smoother and less stressful process. It’s such a comfort knowing I have a “co-pilot” in Skedpal, ensuring I don’t miss anything important and helping me keep a clear head.

Cons

### "I love it!"

September 23, 2019

5.0

As mentioned above, SkedPal increases my daily productivity by decreasing the time required to figure out what needs to be done today, what can be completed today, and taking away the worry of everything else.

Pros

This scheduling/task software is a real winner! You put in your tasks, connect it to your calendar, and it shoots out your day, arranged by time and importance. I have hundreds of tasks I need to eventually accomplish, but instead of being overwhelmed, SkedPal ignores the ones that can wait and only shows me the ones I should do today. Amazingly refreshing and satisfying.

Cons

Occasionally SkedPal crashes but very rarely, and their customer service is superb. The smartphone version of SkedPal can be a bit slow, but it is very manageable.

### "Game Changer!"

August 17, 2022

5.0

Pros

Automatic task scheduling is amazing. With the volume of tasks and projects I manage and prepare, it’s not always easy to keep a to-do list with priority. I like that I can create an outline of projects and then set dependencies so one has to be done first before another.

Cons

There are just so many features that it can be overwhelming to learn. It’s not a “dislike” about the software, but I’ve been using it for 2 months and while I have a system going, I feel like it may not be the most efficient way to use the software.

### "Excellent tool for academics"

April 17, 2019

4.0

In research, I have mostly self-directed days with occasional deadlines. There are hundreds of subtasks that are required in developing scientific methods, setting up experiments, compiling results and preparing publications. It is an immense challenge to prioritize tasks, and prevent non-essential (but interesting) subtasks from falling to the wayside. Skedpal takes care of these challenges for me. I use Skedpal every day to get an overview of what deadlines are approaching, and how my efforts could be best distributed over the day. It helps me decide if I should work overtime to avoid a crunch later on. It allows me to distribute my focus so that I don't spend excessive amounts of time on one task. Skedpal has allowed me to work more efficiently and has improved my dependability. I recommend it to everyone who has a considerable set of subtasks to manage.

Pros

I purchased a skedpal account because it was the first organizer software I found that allowed me to translate my extensive personal to-do list into flexibly-scheduled tasks. It was fast to install and start using, was geared towards a single user, and it is a huge bonus that it is synchronized with google calendar. The "time maps" feature is essential, so that I can separate work days from weekends, and guarantee focus on different projects throughout the week.

Cons

It does not support task dependencies outside of linear dependency of subtasks. Ideally any task in my list would be able to depend on the completion of any other task.

### "Move away from app to browser was a big downgrade"

August 17, 2022

3.0

I liked it a lot on app form, but don't like the web-browser based version. The "outline" is weird, and it's hard to automatically place tasks within the outline or move tasks from one to another. The shortcuts when forwarding a new task using email don't seem to work as well. I'm just way more frustrated with the functionality and look and feel of this new version. Also, I want it separate from yet another browser window I have to keep track of.

Pros

Integration with Outlook; reasonably smart scheduler; priority management; ability to email tasks into Skedpal

Cons

New interface is confusing; hard to see categories of tasks to do; harder to change defaults for things like amount of time the task needs; the physical appearance is hard to deal with (too much grey-on-white). Buttons are no longer intuitive.

### "Skedpal is the best compromise out there"

August 17, 2022

3.0

Okay. Best of the rest

Pros

I like how Skedpal fits with what I need on most things. Skedpal schedules tasks for me and adds them to the reschedule pile when I didn’t mark the tasks done. This is important so I don’t miss anything. In addition Skedpal has great integration with Asana, the tool we use at my company, so other team members can assign me tasks and it gets scheduled via Skedpal.

Cons

I dislike the following: - I have to keep on pressing “Update schedule” - this should be updated whenever there is a change in schedule or a task’s due date goes over without me marking it as done. - I dislike not having a specific timer for the task itself. The task should have a timer and that timer automatically extends the time the task occupies in the calendar. - I dislike the overall UX, it does not feel modern. - I dislike that it has zero calendar features

### "Almost Perfect"

February 29, 2020

5.0

Overall, I’m very happy with the product and looking forward to what the next update holds. The value of scheduling everything and especially not having to personally reschedule stuff if something comes up but just trust the AI to do it, is invaluable. I just got quite sick for the last week and wasn’t able to get anything done so rather than having to spends hours rescheduling all my studying and writing my papers for the next couple of weeks, it only took me about 15 min to reschedule it all.

Pros

Obviously the auto scheduling is majorly important. With all my law school classes, preparing to take the Bar, and other personal responsibilities I’ve always been overwhelmed about knowing when I’ll actually have the time to do it so this has been very beneficial for me.

Cons

There are a few hiccups here and there (no plan your day on Mac, unable to access repeating settings on iPad or iPhone, etc.) but there aren’t any major drawbacks that I’ve encountered. I would maybe like it extended to 4-6 weeks of scheduling so I can better see how longer term projects are playing out.

### "SKEDPAL Takes To Do Lists to a Whole New Level"

August 9, 2020

5.0

Pros

I have been using SKEDPAL for three years. SKEDPAL uses artificial intelligence to schedule tasks and projects. It takes tasks from separate folders (Home, Work, Hobby, etc.) from my to-do list and appointments from my calendar and intelligently schedules them based on time maps that I provide. It then exports the finished schedule back to my calendar. You would think that an application like this would be difficult to implement and learn but it's not. There's a lot of bang for the buck here in terms of amount of time spent learning versus what it can do. There are also apps for ios and android, so it supports mobile. I would strongly recommend SKEDPAL to anyone who is looking for the next level beyond a to-do list app.

Cons

There is nothing about this product that I find lacking.

Reason for choosing SkedPal

### "A new class of software"

June 23, 2019

4.0

Pros

It is a phenomenal marriage of GTD (getting things done) and Time Blocking (Cal Newport). Once you settle your system of adding tasks and (in my use case) integrating with Asana...the app starts intelligently putting work on your calendar. As you complete work or priorities change the app continues to update your schedule and blocks time to do the work. If you are realistic in your time estimates and diligent in capturing all your work...it significantly reduces the time required to answer "what should I do next" and increases productivity massively.

Cons

The integrations. The Asana integration while quite useful, needs a feature upgrade. The Zapier integration does not offer many trigger options or actions. The complexity of getting things in the right order. It takes a while to get the balance of priorities, schedules, due-dates, etc so that tasks are getting placed in your calendar in a way that you expect them to. It is eventually doable to get into ta rhythm, however the investment is not trivial. Given the utility of the software, the pain is worth it...however...definite area for improvement.
