That's basically what happened. We stayed on our timeline, didn't lose or corrupt data along the way, and cut down significantly on the manual grunt work that migrations usually involve. For something this complex, it did what we needed it to do. Pros We'd heard migration horror stories from other teams, so our expectations were low going in. Turned out to be one of the smoother parts of the whole project. The wizard breaks things down step by step, which meant we didn't, have to hand hold every single person working on it even the less experienced folks could follow along fine. The logs and reporting were probably my favorite part, honestly. Any time something looked off, we could spot it fast instead of finding out three days later that something failed silently. Support was solid too real answers, not canned responses, and they didn't take forever to get back to us. Cons Not gonna lie, the setup phase took longer than we hoped. The biggest benefit has been the reduction in manual oversight — once a migration project was underway, I didn't need to check in constantly to confirm things were progressing correctly. I could start the process, focus on other tasks, and return to a clear status update. Accounts that required a retry were easy to identify, which meant I wasn't spending time re-verifying accounts that had already completed successfully. Pros The thing I appreciated most was not having to keep asking whether everything had gone through correctly. I could open the project, check the progress, and move on with other work instead of babysitting it all day. When a couple of accounts needed another attempt, they were easy to spot, so I wasn't wasting time checking users who were already finished. Cons I wouldn't call it difficult, but the first setup isn't something you learn in five minutes. This handled the heavy lifting quietly in the background while people kept working, and when it was done, folders and permissions were exactly where they should be. What we expected to be a stressful few weeks turned out to be pretty uneventful, in a good way. Pros What I liked most was just... not being in the dark. Every step of the transfer showed up on screen, so instead of wondering if something had actually gone through, I knew immediately. We also split everything into smaller waves rather than one massive all at once switch, which meant our team kept working like normal the whole time. Whenever something confused us, the support folks got back to us fast enough that it never became a real bottleneck. Cons I won't pretend the first setup was smooth, I definitely clicked through the wrong option a couple times before figuring out the right sequence. A simple "start here" guide for new users would fix that pretty easily. The design also feels like it hasn't been touched in a while works fine, just looks a bit dated.
