Ease of Daily password activities.

Pros

Users can reset their password from any where.We published the application over the Internet and our customers around the globe use it for Resetting/Unlocking their password.

Cons

More Authentication security like Pulling the Employee ID for verification. Currently is pulling the name from AD, if we have some custom attribute in AD and we want to bind that custom attribute for verification.

Pros

It was very budget friendly compared to other products. It allows for a lot of customization which is nice.

Cons

With a lot of customization, it can sometimes be buggy and hard to find what you are looking for at times.

My experience with AD Self-Service Plus is positive. The product is easy to deploy, offers effective self-service password reset, MFA, and account unlock features, and helps to reduce the IT helpdesk team's workload significantly, which also improves user productivity.

Pros

What I like most about AD Self-Service Plus is its ability to let users securely reset passwords and unlock accounts without contacting the IT helpdesk, which significantly reduces the support team's workload. It also helps to enforce strong password policies while the user resets their password and sends the expiry notification to the users when their password is about to expire.

Cons

One limitation I noticed is that when adding a domain, AD Self-Service Plus requires the domain controller hostname rather than allowing the use of a domain controller IP address. This can cause configuration issues in environments where DNS is misconfigured, or hostname resolution from the AD Self-Service Plus server is not working correctly.

Overall we’ve been very satisfied with AD SelfServicePlus. It just works and requires little maintenance besides updates and cleaning up unneeded users. On the odd occasion that I’ve needed support they have been efficient and have always been able to resolve my issues.

Pros

The product was simple to setup, integrated easily with our user directory and handles user notifications when it’s time to reset passwords.

Cons

There are users who struggle with resetting passwords, not necessarily due to ManageEngine SelfServicePlus, but due to their inability to be able to manage our password complexity rules.

Its been a really helpful tool and one we have relied on for some time now, the support is great and always ready to help, the annual renewal reminders are also very useful, its been great experience all round.

Pros

The product has a great interface and is very easy to navigate around, it comes in very useful when trying to trace a password lockouts and when do our monthly user audits. The support team are also very helpful with great communication lines and they are very security conscious and fast to fix any bugs and issues with new releases, its a great product and great value for money.

Cons

There could be a little bit more detail when trying to diagnose a password lockout which could include an precise location

Found them highly responsive and efficient and correcting issues that we were having. Was impressed by how technician was willing to take ownership of the problem and walk us through efficiently restoring are set up without making us feel incompetent.

Pros

Managed engine AD provided a quick support for an issue we were having. The technician quickly responded and took ownership of the problem to ensure things were correct. After rebuilding the system, they made sure we were comfortable with using the software.

Cons

At this time, I really have no negative feelings towards the company and how quickly they responded to our needs.

I have no complaints. ADSSP has been a reliable product that is always available. I have never had an issue with the software or services on our server.

Pros

It allows for offsite end users to change their own password without involving help desk/IT or submitting help desk tickets.

Cons

The administrator portal is a bit confusing and hard to navigate if you don't know where you are going. End user account management should be more prominent. I also wish the end user experience with changing passwords and enrolling was a bit easier to understand.

Each time I needed Support for this ADSelfService product, it has been truly outstanding. I am very impressed with the quality of support help, and of the knowledge of the staff each time I have requested help! Great job, folks!

Pros

The software provides a much-needed service that permits our users to use a web-based portal to reset expired accounts, and it was fairly easy to set up. Newer security features such as multi-factor authentication bring our AD services here up to current standards. It is a great product, and is very affordable.

Cons

The only thing I would like to see improvement on, is the SSL Certificate installation. As a Windows server company, all of our other SSL Certificates utilize the Windows IIS standard installation methods. I found this use of Tomcat server and Keytool / Keystore with it's command line issues, to be fairly difficult to manage. This is what caused me to need the Support help.

Pros

Ease of setup and use of product. So many reports available. Great for auditors. I like the various options for different policies. Support staff is quick to respond, typically within sn hour of email to support, I get a call with voicemail and follow up email. Use of product is amazingly simple and very intuitive.

Cons

I don't have any negative thoughts at this time..not any issues with product . I can't note any cons as you cannot get better customer service like theirs with too many companies anymore. We all ready have 4 products to date, which we use quite extensively for reporting and auditing. Can't beat it for the price! Too good to be true, not one of those at all.

Fewer password reset requests

Pros

The free version of Password Expiry Notifier is a great help, but usually FREE means little to no support. We had a formatting issue so I called for help. support team studied a minute, and made the fix. Fast, pleasant, and effective. We've been considering Manage Engine for a couple months now and this experience is definitely one in the 'Positive' column.

Cons

I'll let you know if I find anything to complain about.

Simple interface for end users to perform self-management of their passwords and highly configurable for the administrators

Cons

Setting up the proper permissions to enable users access to the web page is not immediately obvious. I tried to evaluate using a virtual network setup and it took quite a while to find out why my client machines could not access the page even though they were communicating with the server.

Selling AD Self Service has allowed me to make the lives of my customers much easier. There is so much more to this tool as well, when it is fully in use, the users are able to manage their own AD profile.

Pros

The price of AD Self Service is very appealing, for the amount of time and effect it saves an IT Team compared to the cost of the tool, is incomparable. The ease of deployment and use makes it very easy for the users to get the hang of.

Cons

It is hard to say exactly, but the one thing that I am not fond of is the user enrollment, it is a once off thing but sometimes, getting the users to enroll takes time.

Reason for choosing ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus

The price of AD Self Service was one of the biggest contributing factors to many of my customers picking this

This software provides our end users with a web-based, self-service solution for issues related to password reset management and account lockout. This has effectively reduced up to a third of our most urgent helpdesk issues allowing us to maximize IT resources. Both the enterprise and its users can feel secure with the multi-factor authentication techniques Single sign-on (SSO) feature based on Microsoft Windows Active Directory enables our users to have seamless, one-click access to cloud and enterprise applications such as G Suite, Office 365, and Zendesk Free SMS, email and push notifications notify our end-users that their password is about to expire and recommend a password change to prevent lockout.

Cons

There have been times when we had problems because the user has forgotten the answers to their security questions, but support was very helpful and the issue was resolved quickly.

It is a very easy solution to implement and use. And it is very useful for us. ADSelf Service Plus has helped us minimize the number of requests related to account reset or unlock.

Cons

I think the UI design could be improved, it is currently very simple, but it should be more dynamic.

Lower support costs, less burnout from unlocking accounts and resetting passwords.

Pros

Ad self service plus was very easy to configure and start using with our employees. It has saved our IT support staff many hours responding to locked out users accounts and forgotten passwords. Since we are a 24x7 business, it is especially helpful for employees help themselves instead of waking up the support person on call.

Cons

I haven't been able to get the automated answer import to work. I have scheduled a job that imports a daily generated csv file from our hr system, but I can only run it manually. I have a ticket open to get it resolved, so hopefully we can start utilizing the full functionality soon.
