I use it mainly to shorten and make my links look more attractive as it has the power to convert better. The link management tools are simply awesome.

Pros

They let you start for free so you can build your business easily, and only later you need to subscribe, at a low fee. A must-have tool for the 21st century.

Cons

It could be a bit overwhelming for beginners to navigate. I suggest to go through Bit.ly in its entirety and then start shortening links, and then tracking. A great tool.

This has been an excellent app for me over the past few years, and it has become a staple in my life.

Pros

Bitly doesn't just shorten URLs, it also offers a variety of unique features. For me, establishing a successful social media presence is a top priority. It is essential that the links to my articles appear alike and be of equal length. Because shorter links tend to work better with Twitter and Instagram. They look sleeker this way. Overall, I am satisfied with Bitly Shortened URLs.

Cons

If I could group my links, I would find this a very useful feature, since I have access to many older links that I find myself frequently referring to. As an example, folders would be a great way to organize them. On the whole, using Bitly has been a real pleasure for me.

I have used this for many years and enjoy the analytics and ease of use.

Pros

The free option is my first favorite feature, then comes the unique back link name where you can change into whatever name brand you have which avoids some need for domain names when starting out.

Cons

Only one thing. It was hard to fix URLs that I created incorrectly. Had to redo the whole thing and the QRcode.

Overall, I must say that this is by far one of my favorite softwares to use for blogging where I am able to post my links in a shorter version on social media. I also like that I can track the click through rates of visitors to my site all in one place. It’s defiantly easier to use compared to google analytics. Wonderful product!

Pros

When I started using Bitly, I was amazed at what I was able to accomplish with this product. I have now used it for tracking all my blog post links on social media and also have used it to make links for my books on Amazon. It’s by far the best software program out there for links and I highly recommend it.

Cons

I really don’t have anything negative to say about this product because so far it has been a great product to use. My only hope is that it doesn’t become too expensive and out of reach for smaller business as it’s really a valuable software.

In general, I really like the platform, it has solved my life. I use it daily and it has helped me improve the aspect of my communication on social networks.

Pros

What I like the most is how easy it is to use, in a few clicks you have your link ready and cutomized to your preference.

Cons

What I like the least is the interface, I feel it could be a little more friendly for beginners, I feel they can be confused at first.

My overall experience is awesome. Some features are missing but they don't affect your work or Campaign.

Pros

The best feature is that you can easily set your own slug and track from where the click is coming.

Cons

Once you create a link, you can't edit the original URL. you cannot set a new URL on an old slug.

Bitly works well for exactly what we need it for—shortening links (often heading towards third parties) on social media posts or tracking the effectiveness of certain print/digital campaigns. I've never had a problem with Bitly regarding broken or messed up links.

Pros

Bitly is a quick learn, allowing you to hop in and immediately—at minimum—start to shorten links so they don't take up your entire tweet length or clutter up social posts. The real magic lies with setting up Google campaigns so you can track many elements and trace them to a specific source (very handy when purchasing web campaigns from third-parties or any campaign with tons of different digital ad sizes/sources). The QR options have come a long way, allowing you to set up custom QR codes which can track the effectiveness for print media.

Cons

The dashboard is pretty sterile and not pleasant to look at. Many features are also locked away behind a pay wall. While most businesses can get away with using the free experience, businesses that pay will enjoy a greater degree of customization and tracking.

BIt.ly is an amazingly efficient link shortener (and hider), and provides great stats on visits over time. The product will be a valuable addition to most people working online in some way or another.

Pros

This product is very simple to use, yet powerful enough for most needs. Add the browser plugin and you will find yourself making links more than you thought you needed! The process is simple and the interface is great.

Cons

In the industry that we operate, there are a few products that need links to be uploaded, the criterion for these uploads is "hardcoded" and a bit.ly link fails the checks. This is a issue with an external product though, not bit.ly, but I cannot find an aspect of the bit.ly product that I dislike.

Pros

Amazing especially for Youtube Descriptions and Instagram Profiles where we can make the link clickable thanks to bitly.

Cons

There was a bug regarding other people can see the analytics for out links, I think it solved but that was not a pleasant experience.

Overall I am quite happy with Bitly as a URL shortener that allows us to track the performance of our URLs and see how many people are clicking on our shared links.

Pros

As a blogger I can easily convert complicated URL addresses into relevant short and human sounding URLs that people can easily relate to. It also helps me to track the clicks and understand how people are responding to my URLs which is a great way to track the performance of shared URLs across different mediums like social media, emails etc.

Cons

I think that there should have been more advanced options to manage the campaigns. Currently I need to use other software for campaign management

Bitly allows me to better integrate the links in a very professional way in my blog posts and my social network shares.

Pros

What I like about bitly is that it is very practical and easy to use. It allows me to reduce the length of my links and to rename them as I wish

Cons

What I don't like about Bitly is the high cost of its premium subscription but apart from that I like Bitly, already with the free version you have a lot of accessible features.

It provides us a way to have long links in our social media campaigns. using a custom domain also personalizes the link shortener to make it more recognizable.

Cons

It seems to be branded for one extreme to the next. You are either looking at using it for free or being a large enterprise who can pay a good bit of money to use additional features. I want to use the QR Code feature but it is just too pricey and no ala carte.

Bitly makes link shortening and management very fast and easy as it enables my team to share important and tidy links among ourselves at work. It also comes as a great help for my affiliate marketing business as I am able to share referral links and track them at thesame time.

Pros

Not only is bitly great for shortening links it also provides the additional feature of tracking the number of clicks the link generates. At work bitly is used among my team to shorten and share links pertaining to work among ourselves. This is great as undesirably long links are shortened to give them a neat nature. Personally as an affiliate marketer on the side I use bitly to refer products to people and track the number of clicks I get from my referrals.

Cons

The free version of bitly has very minimal features as compared to the paid versions. As a result if you want extra features like branded links, bulk link shortening and advanced analytics you would need to get the paid the versions.

When shortening a link with random characters, it makes it very short, so any subsequent QR codes are simple and not very complex. Complex QR codes are harder to scan.

Cons

No way to make multiple accounts part of an organization without going with the enterprise option.

Pros

Bitly's free plan allows you to shorten a certain number of links per month (I think around 10?) This is sufficient for most people but for organizations or companies who need more links, you would need a paid plan. The paid plans start at $8 which I think is quite reasonable. In the world we live in now, you really can't live without link shorteners and bitly makes it simple to use and easy to track.

Cons

First, I wish there was an easier way to sort the links you make in your bitly account. I believe there's a way to use tags but when you start having nearly 100 links in your account, having folders would be handy. Secondly, the paid plans of Bitly offer UTM builders, which I've never really been able to figure out. Namely, what's the difference between UTM builders and just making more and more links, especially if 100 are already covered under the smallest plant? This however is just a personal issue as I just don't understand the full potential of UTM builders.

We now shorten our long urls without problems, most importantly we shorten so many urls within minutes due to Bitly's bulk url management ability. We brand our urls and we get best analytics of the urls.

Pros

We shorten a bulk of urls with ease thereby avoiding breakage of the urls when we send them to clients. We also brand them to build trust in our customers that the links are legit. Bitly gives us all needed data according to what it gathers from the url visitors including their demographics and behavior on our website. Bitly also helps in campaign management that enables us to walk a client through the marketing process with ease.

Cons

Bitly has done the best so far and it satisfies our needs, only that it has weak privacy settings to control accessibility when working as a team.

Reason for choosing Bitly

Bitly does not lag and works smoothly on all our devices as it integrates well with our systems for clients management.

Overall its a good tool, a leader who set the market & expectations for link sharing. Can offer a lot of features to stay relevant in today's market with heavy competition.

Pros

Easy to use link sharing tool. Probably has all the features most of us look for from QR codes to short links - trackable & brandable.

Cons

Analytics is not very details, marketers are used to mining their data to multiple levels - bit.ly is still a long way to go in this direction. UX is also clunky. Unless you are using custom domains - the bit.ly shortened urls will show a bit.ly icon/branding when shared on social media & not the landing page imagery! This is a big irritant.

Overall, Bitly has been an excellent option for my publishing client.

Pros

For an online publications that has many pages, categories, articles, chapters, etc., Bitly is ideal because a link becomes so shortened, you don't run the risk of a broken link when sending to client or pushing it out social media.

Cons

I would like to see some third-party integration options that are a little more stable and work well with Wordpress.
