You can compress a PDF to smaller version for sharing it through email. Converting the most common files (MS Doc, PPT, Excel and JPG) into PDF is very simple and it comes very handy for my daily work. Cons The free version only allows 2 PDF conversions per hour. Compressing large files can take a long time and consume a lot of Internet bandwidth. Pros This tool is so simple! I love the way it can be understood by anyone, regardless of their level of familiarity with design tools. The fact that I can do so many things to a PDF file without having to pull up a design software is priceless. When optimized, the PDF files end up just like they were in full resolution, so no quality is lost whatsoever, only a bunch of MB! I don't use the rest of the converters as much as the optimize tool for PDF sizes, but they are also very helpful ways of making sure that any file you share is always recognized across any platform, without having to deal with tricky software to handle the format conversion. Cons I've only been using the free version, and there's a limited amount of things you can do with it. It will lock you out of the platform for about one hour after you reached your limit, so that can be a bit frustrating... I haven't been needing this as much as I should in order to pay for it, so I wait. But if I eventually find that I need to use it more, I would totally upgrade. You can do many of the tasks with other platforms including Adobe, but if it's a small project or you need it in a pinch than Smallpdf can really save the day. Pros Smallpdf is an all-in-one platform that allows you to basically do anything you could possibly imagine with a PDF. You can convert things to a PDF, convert PDFs to many other formats, compress PDFs, edit the pages within a PDF, sign the document and even secure the document. Cons The pricing seems relatively fair, but I don't use the software enough to warrant becoming a member for the price. There is a free-trial that you can use.
