The feature set is terrific and was the reason I picked CS-Cart Multi Vendor. Although there's been a couple small hitches, the process of setting up a marketplace was made easy with the platform. Pros \- The feature set is great and everything works exactly as expected out of the box. This is primarily why I ended up choosing CS-Cart over other products. - Admin portal is easy to use - setting up Vendors, Products etc. is simple but it's also possible to setup complex product features and filters. - Upfront pricing worked for me - it's nice to know exactly what I have for the initial spend Cons \- Very few modern looking themes; I ended up creating my own. There are some tutorials for this in their documentation which were quite useful. - Custom development is more difficult than it needs to be; especially coming from a WordPress background. There's a lot of outdated, even deprecated, libraries that are used. - Third party integration is relatively limited without additional development (e.g. email marketing pretty much tied to Mailchimp which isn't the end of the world but more choice would be nice) Reason for choosing CS-Cart Multi-Vendor CS-Cart Multi Vendor feature set is better than any other platform I could find. The admin panel works for 30 days without any limitations and then blocks. We can unlock the panel using the license key issued to you the moment the license is purchased and continue working on your store. All the data entered and changes made will be saved there. It means we can start working on our marketplace during the free period already. They're easy to deal with. Pros The software provides just about everything that you could want to create your own online marketplace. There are integrations and plugins for a multitude of payment processors and an active community of developers creating affordable plugins and bespoke modifications. I spent a lot of time researching other software and bespoke development, nothing came close for the price. And a bespoke development was quoted at over 10 times what I paid for MultiVendor. Cs-cart was the one that matched all the points I wanted to have. My objective was to be as autonomous as possible with the platform and not using all the time developers to adjust some features. After more than 8 months, I can confirm that Cs-cart is the right product for that. Pros The platform is rapidly functional. The Helpdesk is really great and always assist for any challenge and question. The integration of the addon is also very easy. Cons The Platform seems to be more adapted to B2C than B2B. Some features are not flexible enough to be changed. I started to set up at first the platform in French and it is not really easy. Several thumbnail are not clear and should be better explained. Cons We went for 15 days hosted server trial, we tested all features, some very important features like sales transactions and accounting reports did not work properly (wrong numbers) It's bad for an e-commerce software! There are multiple add-ons and integration available to fit my specific need so its easy to customize. Different payment and shipping methods are amazing. No monthly payments and no commission fee. Youtube tutorial videos for when I need help is a great bonus. Cons The design aspect is hard to get used to. Using blocks to arrange what goes where on the website can be challenging on its own and you have to do this for tablet, desktop, and mobile layout so webpage fits perfectly on different devices is very time-consuming.
