Pros We use Teramind for incident investigation. To that end, it works great. We don't use the time or project tracking features but it's nice that they're there and pretty easy to use. The stealth installer is a .msi which means that we can push the installation of the agent via Intune or GPO and I like have control over the automatic updates. (I can push updates outside of business hours.) Teramind isn't super hard to learn and I had it pretty figured out within a week or two. But their support is pretty fantastic too. Cons Termind is in the middle of a migration to a new user interface. Feature parity between the old and the new user interfaces is not quite there yet and, per support, you still have to use the legacy UI to do certain things, like pushing agent updates. We also ran into some issues previously with blocking websites based on regex. Currently, you can only block sites based on "equals", "contains", or "matches regex". There's no "starts with" operator and wildcards "\*" or "?" are not supported. In our environment, if Teramind pushes a new trusted certificate to the endpoint, it drops all RPD connections. This doesn't lose work for the user but it is annoying. Some agent updates have, in the past, forced a restart which could not be suppressed caused a problem when used on a VDI hosts but it's been years since this last happened. We still only do agent updates manually outside of business hour because of this. If you are looking for an exfiltration protection suite that allows you to get a bird's-eye view of what's going on in your network, Teramind is the way to go. Pros It gives us detailed reports on how our users spend their time on their PCs, so we can better manage our time as a company. Employee productivity is a big issue for many companies. With Teramind, we are able to keep a close eye on it. It allows us to stop the exfiltration of any sensitive data our end users may access and lock down the offending machine. Cons Some of the reports still have bugs being worked out, so the data in them can be real-time. But the most important reports have been handled first, so they operate in real time. They are constantly working on improvements. As a trainer, the primary function I use is viewing the screen recordings of employees. When I am performing QA and I can tell an employee is struggling with a system, I can easily view their screen to see exactly where the issue lies. This saves so much time on training calls, since I don't need to try to determine what they are missing. We can dive right into it! Pros Teramind is user-friendly and allows us to monitor productivity (and lack thereof) easily. The learning curve is small. One can learn how to use the basic features in a matter of minutes, but the software offers a lot beyond the basics. The option to view screen recordings has proven very useful when researching escalations from our clients. No more spending hours trying to figure out exactly what occurred! The reporting features make it easy to see crucial statistics at a glance without having to review each employee individually. It has saved my company hours of work and allowed us to easily identify weak links, thus creating a strong ROI. Cons The interface was updated, which presents a new learning curve. There are a lot of similarities, which makes it a bit easier, but time is a limited resource, and it can be difficult to find time to dive in and re-learn software you're already using. Support is always available when we run into problems. Pros It's easy to use, configuration is simple yet effective software for survaillance purposes. The recording allows our security team to quickly validate employees behaviors. Cons Some feature (Omni / Insight) are only available to the admin users. Those feature would be helpful to our security team. Systems Administrator Entertainment ### "Great software" 5.0 Overall Rating 5.0 5.0 Ease of Use 4.0 4.0 Features 5.0 5.0 Customer Service 5.0 5.0 Likelihood to Recommend 10/10 April 24, 2026 I've been a fan since we originally deployed this in 2020, we tested several pieces of software for this gap in our security but Teramind had superior features, at a better price, and allowed us to run completely locally. Our industry has many peculiar security requirements Teramind meets them all perfectly and we've been able to leverage it's alerts to fulfill other requirements we didn't even know it could help with. Pros I'm a big fan of the UI and the level of control, most importantly I've never had any issues with it that weren't readily and effectively resolved by their all-star support team, this is the ultimate plug and play solution to our security woes and requires almost no maintenance or oversight aside from occasional updates. Cons If I had one complaint it would be the learning curve on some aspects can be a little overwhelming, but this is mostly due to the verbosity of the features. In particular the alerts setup took a while because of the unique syntax for file changes, but again the support team was able to guide us through this. The quality of video was honestly pathetic, even highly compressed at a low framerate teramind had better video output, not to mention the complete lack of comparable features and the fact it was ONLY cloud AND cost more. There is a bit of a learning curve when first getting started, but it becomes more manageable over time. However, we experienced compatibility issues with Apple products and often needed IT support to troubleshoot, especially after system updates. Pros Time Tracking, Reporting, ability to remote in to view live feed of employees working.
