Compared to the competition, Nowsta comes out way ahead in ease of use, ability to deliver results, drive efficiency, and track accountability.

Pros

Ease of use and interface make using Nowsta & training easy. Ease of integrations makes implementation and ROI high. Many workers in our market are familiar with Nowsta. Data and reporting allow deep analytics for management, business strategy, and budgets.

Cons

Not allowing workers to Opt to share their calendars across multiple employers means that employee calendars are not always up to date. Not being able to see available workers without creating a placeholder shift.

Great interface, really good customer service! Easy to use as a manager and employee.

Pros

Having a system that communicated with our catering software has been crucial. This allows us to keep budgeting / staffing goals in mind when creating the schedule.

Cons

I wish there was a manager portal / or team portal so that I could login and see who's clocked in, what my labor costs are for that day/period. That is the biggest lack of Nowsta currently. .

We have enjoyed Nowsta for the organization and ease of use for our staff!

Pros

We love the personalization of Nowsta and being able to make it work for our company needs. It is incredibly useful for our staff to use the mobile app to accept or decline shifts, see event and shift details, uniform information, and location parking information in the palm of their hand. We also love that it integrates with our catering system, Total Party Planner.

Cons

We wish there was a mobile app for managers & administrators! We are often working in the field and assisting with events so when changes need to be made to a shift or information needs to be updated real-time, we have to rush to a wifi zone and make changes from a laptop (if we even have it with us!) at an event. Making changes via mobile would be super helpful!

Overall, I am completely impressed with the functionality, ease of use, and practicality of this product. It increases my quality of life because it is so helpful and user friendly that it significantly lowers my stress level. Thanks, again.

Pros

Nowsta is so intuitive and helpful that I honestly enjoy my time using the program. I am able to visualize and focus on the teams and venues I am staffing rather than stress about difficult logistics of a program (which is common in other programs I use). It is incredibly fluid and simple in use for an aspect of my job that is actually very complicated. I would recommend Nowsta to anyone who spends a significant portion of their day filling any type of employee shifts. Thanks for your hand work, Nowsta!

Cons

I don't have a good understanding of how to compare employee work/hour allocation relative to specific types of events. Perhaps better illustrative data representation would help. It's also possible that I just don't know how to find or use these already accessible features.

I can not gush any mor than I have. It is the best managing software I have ever used. It meets all my staffing needs- and exceeds them with Nowsta Flex. I could not be a happier camper.

Pros

Nowsta creates a space where I can successfully create and customize events to our companies particular needs. We are also able to more easily evaluate our staff and track hours worked. Communication with our staff is an absolute breeze with the built in announcement feature.

Cons

I have not bumped into anything that Nowsta has not already changed (adding the "unavailable" feature was a dream come true)

I used Nowsta at another company (where I was first introduced to it). When I moved to my new company, they were using email+google sheets to manage events and staff employees. I said there is a better way- let me tell you about Nowsta! We implemented in the off season and have been using Nowsta in full force since then!

Nowsta has enabled us to grow as a company and scale when needed. This is a must have app in our industry.

Pros

I like the ability to schedule multiple events and include a multitude of details that are important to convey to our teams. Also, the ability to engage temp staff through the same system is a game changer.

Cons

I would like to be able to receive employee responses through the system making it a one stop shop.

### "Nowsta truly transformed our catering companies staffing operations! "

Nowsta has eliminated our need for paper/hand written shift times, confusion over who was at what event and for how long, wondering what was the pay for that particular shift and the need to spend countless hours calculating every employees hours/pay come payroll time. Most of all, Nowsta has connected all our employees and with the app, given each the convenance of handheld information. Oh, and Nowsta integrates with our catering software Caterease which was our biggest selling point because we only have to enter event information once and it is transferred over to Nowsta with all the details needed for the employees. From a Caterers view point, I do not think there is anything else out there that can come close to Nowsta for us. So happy we made the move to Nowsta and there's no turning back!

Pros

From an Admin stand point, I love how Nowsta is so easy to edit; staff information, times, position costs, literally everything! I love the availability checks that can go out as whatever I want, they do not have to be attached to an event. I love the multiple ways that I can inform my staff of shifts available via shifts requests and publishing to a first come first serve deal. It's so easy to make announcements to staff members who are scheduled for event shifts. Staff members get notified instantly of any event changes. I can set preferences to where I receive emails every time a staff member accepts/declines a shift, when new events are entered into Nowsta (we have the Caterease interface), when staff members do not clock into their shifts on time and so on. I could go on and on... From an employees stand point, Nowsta gives me all the information that I need for an event. Its linked with Google Maps and with one click, I get GPS directions to my event. I can get notifications of upcoming events I am scheduled for. I clock in and out with my phone, no company timeclock box needed. I can easily add breaks to my shift. I can clock into an unscheduled shift, like for kitchen/office staff members who work daily yet do not have schedule kitchen or office hours. It is soooo easy! Makes everything soooo easy!! Hands down the BEST Customer service crew I have ever worked with! I love chatting with them even tho I try not to have to. :)

Cons

The only thing at the moment that I wish Nowsta could do is have flat rate delivery options. I currently use normal staffing hours to calculate deliveries but they should be flat rates that do not affect employees hours but we make it work. Looking forward to the upgrade that includes flat rate fees.

Nowsta has helped us streamline staffing for our events and allowed us to focus on building the best teams for our clients. Through Nowsta's many features, we're able to manage and communicate better with our clients and our staff, creating better and stronger events teams all around.

Pros

We love the accessibility and ease of use for each of our team members. Our staff consists of young and old, and everyone seems to understand how to use the app. Getting updated that everyone has clocked in is a great feature, especially when you're running a lot of events daily. The reminders that you have a shift coming up when you're 3 days out, and then again 3 hours out are great too! Lastly, we love being able to see the last time a staff member logged into the app, this helps us manage the teams more accurately.

Cons

We struggle most with the clock in/out feature. It's likely a user error, but we get the most complaints about this feature. When it does work, it's great!

Reason for choosing Nowsta

I cannot remember the alternative products that were considered, but overall, we felt the price, the ease of use, the features, and the customer service far outweighed the other options. After several years of using Nowsta, we're still really happy with the product.

### "Best Entertainment Crewing Software "

This software allows us work with an ever-changing employee pool to staff entertainment events. It is easy to set-up events, add employees to shifts, and be able to customize most aspects of the crewing process to meet our client's needs. It is also very convenient to have timesheets and employee attendance integrated in the same software as our calendar and crewing.

Pros

Nowsta is great for real-time staffing, planning upcoming events for clients, and for tracking attendance and employee times. I've worked with several different software packages over the past 5 years, and this is the one that I'm going to stick with because it does everything I need it to in a user-friendly way.

Cons

I would like to be able to add a little more customization to employee pay rates (not only by position, but by client as well). It would also be helpful to be able to customize overtime rules a little more.

### "I've threatened to quit if I can't have Nowsta"

I was with another company before the pandemic in the same role, and used Nowsta there. So I pushed hard to get it at my new job, and it has made scaling up our post-pandemic operations much easier. I've also found that the Nowsta gnomes are great about integrating feedback and working out new features.

Pros

I love how fast I can work with Nowsta--building events, assigning staff, sending out information, moving people around from event to event, duplicating events, attaching pdfs with information that my teams will need. The mobile app is much easier for my team to use than our old system. The different kinds of reports I can generate are useful. And it's fun, compared to the alternatives I've worked with or researched. Other products may have the same functionality, but are harder to navigate or require more keystrokes to do basic things. Nowsta is responsive, robust, and clear.

Cons

Our one big challenge is that Nowsta can't export to the .iif format that our particular version of QuickBooks needs, and we're still looking for a workaround. But it works with a lot of other systems, our experience shouldn't put you off.

Pros

Extremely easy to integrate into our organization. We had gone from 4 different programs for 4 years and now we've stuck with Nowsta for almost 3. It does everything we need simply and effectively, the ease of use is the most I like about Nowsta.

Cons

Only thing is I wish it paired with apple calendar.

Nowsta has been fairly responsive to our requests to improve the product and their customer service is fantastic and quick to respond (and troubleshoot issues).

Pros

Nowsta is an essential scheduling and timeclock tool in our catering company. Employees in the field can easily get shift information including GPS directions, times, and uniform requirements They also can log breaks and timeclock info. Shift requests are easy and simple to respond to for employees. We have been using Nowsta for many years and are very happy with it.

Cons

I wish that Nowsta was a little easier to use for scheduling full time employees with somewhat regular shifts. They have a weekly scheduler in beta mode, but it is still clunky and doesn't allow you to schedule employees without entering individual daily shifts. Other programs we have used allowed us to Enter a shift and then click a box for which days of the week that shift applied to.

Occasionally when using my mobile and I try and put in a shift request I have to turn my phone sideways in order to get to the list of employees that I'm trying to request

Pros

So easy to implement and use, and just as easy for our employees and contractors. It has made a lot of our scheduling nightmares disappear.

Cons

I love most of it. I wish I could copy and paste certain elements between jobs rather than having to use drop down menus in those instances.

I can not say enough how much I love Nowsta! I am very picky with my software and systems I have in place for my business. Nowsta along with Tave (another software system) work perfect for me! The Nowsta team is wonderful! Always there to help if I have a question. Nowst is a definite game changer for me and my business!

Pros

This software keeps me organized, keeps the associates organized. I love the systems, I love the real time notifications ~ I just love everything about it!

Cons

It took me a little while to get use to the software, but it was a small learning curve for me. When I send out a message to the team ~ and then go look at the announcement in my announcement tabs, it's difficult for me to find it after I've read it, doesn't seem to be in chronological order once a message, or announcement is read. ~ Also it's very difficult to get on my nowsta page as an administrator on my phone when i'm out of my office ~ this is very frustrating and hope to find a solution for this.

Nowsta is essential in Staffing our events. Provides easy communication tools.

Cons

Custom reports and scheduled reports would help automate processes and keep groups in the know. And reporting for published shifts replies (nowsta tells me that someone declined direct requests, would be nice to know about published ones too when Staffing various shifts and events in a day)

Because I am not spending hours trying to schedule multiple jobs, this has freed up time for me to source more business, hire and train more people.

Pros

I like the weekly view to see who is available when scheduling and the Events page to see if we have any days open to schedule new projects.

Cons

I really wish on the Weekly View that there was a way that the team could put in when they can not work as well as when they can. My team and our work are flexible but I always have to call the team member to see if they could possibly make it an hour earlier to meet a vendor or if we can switch the days they want off and they can tell me if they have no flexibility on certain days.

I've been using NOWSTA for over a year now, and definitely recommend it to all. It is super important for our company because everyone (front of house and back) use it for scheduling.

Pros

I love NOWSTA because it is super user friendly to all staff that uses the application. The real time updates are so helpful as things typically change in the event industry.

Cons

I do not like how sometimes NOWSTA lags in time and I do not like how sometimes NOWSTA glitches and removes data from already inputted info.

Pros

The thing that I like most about Nowsta is how easy it is to use. Our employees love using the app to track their hours & earnings. It is also easy for us to keep track of them as well! The mobile app is a life saver for catering! The employees can easily clock in and out of their shifts by phone!

Cons

I do not really have any cons for Nowsta! I have always had a great experience with it.

Overall Nowsta has solved our core scheduling needs. It has also made it simple to know when our team is on site for events by them clocking in.

Pros

Nowsta is the tool we use to schedule and staff our events. Our life has been easier since using the app and our team loves it as well.

Cons

We don't like that we can't see if a team member has read our messages. Our team also cannot communicate/respond to us in the app.

Reason for choosing Nowsta

Their team made us seem as important as their larger clients, the pricing was within our budget and the platform meets most of our needs.

Nowsta has been very beneficial in saving time scheduling staffing and keeping track of staffing as per event.

Pros

We love how easy it is to assign team members to events and how easy it is for team members to accept or decline, based on their personal schedules. We love how Nowsta integrates with our Curate software! We appreciate all of the information that we are able to plug-into each event!

Cons

We do not at all appreciate that Nowsta does not offer any phone support whatsoever. Nowsta is impossible to integrate with ADP and this is a huge disappointment, as had been told that this would be an easy process. We are having to hire yet another software in order to run our payroll, again a huge disappointment, because we were hoping that using Nowsta would streamline our payroll process.
