It is cost prohibitive for us little guys. Pros It does the job. Most advanced features I do not use. This is the go to drafting program for pretty much everyone. It has auto detail actually look at highlight. It offers simple reuse of the plans , The exorbitant slip-ups in the plan or the creation can be kept away from , And you can change the current thoughts that saves the time. It really amazing. Cons Toward the starting it is very challenging to learn, it is without a doubt not a product that anybody can learn in a brief time frame. Pros I love the fact that it is being upgraded with time. There is now a software called autocad architecture that have features likes doors, window to make things easier for use. It’s a fun experience learning with the normal autocad. Feels like drafting but with a system rather than paper and pen. I find myself really liking the hatching features and layers. Not the best at the software but still learning. Cons I personally won’t say I have anything against the app but I am so comfortable around bim softwares but definitely try my best to learn more on this. Pros Autocad Architecture is a great software for producing neat drafted architectural plans. It is very easy to use. Cons The software is limited to 2D drafting eventhough it allows for a bit of 3D modelling. Unlike Revit, AutoCad does not give you the previllage to work in multiple views at a time. May 22, 2018 4.0 Faster, more complete Cad design of construction drawings. Pros It makes designing a home or commercial project easier than any other software available. Plenty of tools, and some customization is available. Cons Way too expensive for the common designer to afford. And now we have to pay yearly too. It's too much overhead at times. Way too many tools available, AutoCad tries to be everything for everyone. Most designers use 10-20 commands about 95% of the time. The numerous features allow me to produce a set of blueprints with great detail. I generally prefer to use AutoCAD over most other products because of how easy it is to send plans to draftsman, architects, or engineers to allow them to do their portions of the work. Pros I appreciate how, as an industry standard, I can let multiple users work on the drawing files and then bring them together to create a set of plans. There isn't much worry about not being able to import drawings together and then add further details as needed. Cons There is a steep learning curve to become proficient with the software. It's great for projects that are cut and dry and don't really need much exploratory design work, just good looking 2D drawings. I have always been an admirer of the fine control AutoCAD gives its user over line weights. It is probably my favorite software for creating beautiful-looking 2D drawings! Cons It's definitely limiting now that BIM is prominent in the industry. It's attempting to keep up with AutoCAD 3D which not nearly as intuitive as other 3D platforms. Not only It's compatible with virtually all major modelling applications, but its interface is simple and yet so powerful. Functions like Osnap and snap will make drawing extremely accurate and efficient. These functions are really powerful that you can never exhaust it. Cons Price is what you get the worth of what you paid for, but it is free if your are a student. The Learning curve is quite steep and worth taking with so many online documentation and tutorials out there. AutoCAD was very easy to learn and really user friendly. Though our company does not use AutoCAD as our primary design software, it is essential for coordinating drawings with consultants.
