Primary Secretary Design Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Very helpful to help visualize projects." July 3, 2018 4.0 Drawing on the computer instead of paper is very convenient. I can make changes without having to restart an entire drawing. I also like the ability to print to PDF because then I can email anyone my drawing even if they don't happen to have autoCAD. With my iPhone, I can also just text my drawing to installers or contractors. This makes life so convenient. I am a designer and can picture what something will look like, but the contractors can't see what is in my head. With AutoCAD I can draw it so they can. Pros I like the ability to draw quickly and accurately. This program helps installers see exactly the work that needs to be done. Cons Figuring out how to change lines and text on drawings. This is what many architects and engineers require, and it's set up to print out official blueprints that are widely accepted. Cons Very not-intuitive. Pros Autocad architecture is a must have for any engineering or architecture business. It's user interface is really easy to use such as autocad, and producing high quality content comes with almost no type of issues. Cons Be prepared to pay a lot of money for this software. What I'm interested in this software are its special features. When I do Chamfer or Fillet I can review its changed in real time. With Style Preview, I can see Wall, Door, Windows with the other Style in Properties Palette before using. There are many features of AutoCAD Architecture that I need to take my time to learn. The software is relatively easy to use, but keep in mind, there are a variety of functions that can be operated. It provides legible labels and the basic functions are easy to pick up quickly. Cons Depending on the complexity of the file, it's hard to keep the file size down. I wish there was a way to minimize the working file size because it forces the user to upgrade their drives. Pros The tool has numerous tool tabs, it is impressive, but with use you find it very useful to transform paper drawings into digital files. 2d modeling is very intuitive, and you can enter passwords in your files. Cons I found that online resources for the Architecture Autocad were sometimes hard to come by as resources were typically geared more towards the basic Autocad software. Pros Easy to quickly draw out plans using lines. The Ability to import Xref files helped coordinate plan changes across multiple sheets. Cons There is no coordination between plans and elevations, sections, etc. If something changes on plans, you had to go and update each and every elevation, section, view that was affected.
