The overall experience of switching to TechMan from a previous software provider was very efficient and the initial and ongoing support and training is second to none, they are always at the end of the phone and eager to help and listen.

Pros

It is perfect for our business and allows us to easily manage our customer database. It works behind the scenes sending reminders automatically and allows us to focus on other things which previously took a lot of time each month. It has made our business more efficient and leaner. I like that it is easily accessible from anywhere which is great when also working from home. It integrates with both our phone and accounting systems along with suppliers and technical information making day to day operations very slick.

Cons

It is difficult to think of things that I least like, as the system can be personalise so much to suit your individual business needs.

Reason for choosing TechMan

I found the support during the trial period more helpful and generally felt Techman was the better option for our business.

Very easy to use, versatile, reliable, loaded with features and the support is second to non.

Pros

This software gives the business the ability to Make More Profit!Once the system is set up and the business embraces how it manages operations, then the opportunity comes to unlock a wealth of profit through reporting features.The systems also offers transparency, this automatically instils discipline to all users, therefore improving standard practices, protecting the business and the customer.

Cons

We're still struggling with the stock control features, but TM are looking into it and I'm sure it'll be sorted soon.

I felt scammed by Techman. It's clear to see that they are not proud of their service because they have turned all of their reviews off on their platforms. Any honest business that doesn't have anything to hide, would never turn off their reviews. But clearly, many customers are not happy with Techman's service and product, and therefore, they have turned off their reviews.

Pros

Unfortunately, there isn't much postives I can say about TechMan and Web Seller Pro.

Cons

I signed up for Techman GMS with high expectations, hoping it would streamline my garage operations. However, the experience has been far from smooth. From the start, the software felt clunky and not user-friendly. I encountered frequent glitches that caused downtime, and important features were either missing or didn’t function properly. This disrupted my business operations, leading to scheduling mishaps and frustrated customers. When I reached out to their customer support, I was met with slow response times and generic troubleshooting tips that didn’t address the core issues. Despite several attempts to resolve the problems, I saw little improvement. Overall, Techman GMS fell short of its promises, and I would not recommend it unless significant improvements are made. For now, it’s simply not reliable enough for a busy garage environment.

### "Techman Workshop Management System"

Techman workshop management system has transformed our business from a single user software to a multiplatform experience. We use most of Techmans features including electronic job cards which has reduced the amount of paper work with in our business. The electronic vehicle health check system which is intergrated with in the electronic job cards and has helped to increase our revenues beyond expectations. The live data diary and kanban board has revolutionised workshop loading giving us instant access to job status and time left at a click of a button or a view of a screen. Techman has continued to carry out extensive updates which have either added new exciting features or enhanced areas which their customers have asked for updates.

Pros

At the point of purchasing Techman we had viewed numerous like for like software providers. Techman at the time lead the way with one function especially good function that you can open multiple job cards accross multiple tabs. This increased the service advisors efficiency.

Cons

We have found a few small problems with some of Techmans features. The courtesy car booking system and diary does not provide history. We have had to set up a excel spreadsheet to over come the history of each of our courtesy cars in case of convictions. The internal messaging system which is only one way (from technicians to service advisor) takes priority over the task you are performing, meaning that you could be typing and it stops when you have a message coming through.

Great Support team that made the anxieties of moving onto a new system disappear. Guys on the phone have fantastic knowledge and patience. Using TechMan has improved some of our business processes making long winded tasks efficient yet effective.

Pros

A very easy to use and straightforward system. TechMan reduces no shows giving us less wasted hours. The PO/Returns management process and Reports are fantastic allowing us to be on top of all returns and great visibility of stats with a few clicks

Cons

As of yet, we haven't come across anything we dislike. In the instances we have spoken to Support, they have guided us through our queries and turns out we were clicking the wrong buttons!

### "Disappointed with the way it has turned out"

Extremely disappointing. We chose Techman because CarVue was shutting down giving us just one month's notice. Before any real information was given to us by Carvue we were already 3 weeks down the line giving me no time at all to be contacted by Techman, given a one-hour demo, followed by the decision needing to be made pretty much that afternoon. We paid £357.60 for a mixture of Training fees, (2 x 1-hour slots) and a data extract from CarVue - half of which didn't come across - no quotes have come across, and the data itself didn't manage to be brought in by techman until AFTER we'd lost access to our old system, which was not good. I'm not sure what the other costs were for. The system is not user friendly, is clumsy and has some really annoying glitches that you can't get around - the list is growing daily as to what these are. In a nutshell, we decided that this system probably wasn't for us.... We thought it might be possible to walk away less than a week down the line and just cut our losses and move to Mechanic Desk which is far cheaper, easier to use, editable and has a Xero API back and forth which has shown to be really user friendly and easy to use, missing the opportunity for mistakes and errors. But no, we have signed a B2B contract and as \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] has politely reminded me, we won't be going anywhere for 3 long years. Bad form on Techman's part. If you are going to do business with this company, demand a free trial and check your contract CAREFULLY.

Pros

The diary and front screen is appealing and you are able to see what you have in at a quick glance helping for moving through progress and ultimately invoicing which we do separately.

Cons

The integration to your accounts package is not acceptable. There is no direct API (Incredible for something so expensive) so you have to export a CSV file to Xero which then lumps a collection of draft invoices into Xero for you to then have to go through and add to your lines if you want to have a description in the accounts package. It also imports as an accounting code rather than a customer number. As I understand from a frustrating call yesterday, this is fixable as you can put that customers accounting code into Xero so that it recognises it and puts it to the correct customer. The bottom line is it is not quick, or accurate and I felt significant risk to my accounting package data if I continued to import this clumsy data manually. We therefore dont even use Techman to invoice as with xero I can email smart looking, accurate statements directly to our account customers without any risk of messing up their accounts outstanding.

The TechMan team made us aware at the beginning that the more you put in to this system the more you get out of it and they could not have been more correct! The system has shown us how much time we were previously losing and wasting, it has saved us no end!

The system is easy to look at, to understand and gives fantastic reporting

How much it highlighted we had previously been doing wrong ;-)

Techman has come with many benefits & has been unbelievably helpful over the time we have used this, its very user friendly and the support team are always polite, professional and helpful if you should ever encounter an issue.

Pros

The system is so easy to use, the reports feature is especially helpful when tracking the overall efficiency of staff. We like how quickly we can schedule in service plans according to client requirements and our customers & auditors have complimented us on our ability to access invoices, service sheets and job history.

Cons

The only part of the software I would complain about is the lack of ability to separate general contact email addresses against accounting email addresses in the client details feature.

### "Be Aware About the Fake Big Advertising and 3 Years Contract "

We signed with this company called TechMan and things are more complicated then you think Everything works against you, takes ages to complete an estimate. The way the system is set up, you need to click on minimum 35 windows in order to finish and estimate or an invoice, time wasting. All the money are taken in advance and take months to merge the data from your old system. Very bad experience, GARAGE OWNERS STAY AWAY.

Pros

Nothing Good - after 15 years in car repair industry the man over there was asking me if I ever had a workshop system before. Very rude.

Cons

We moved here because GMax closed with a very short notice. The system is not very friendly and is full of annoying ticks that you can't go over you have to click them. Money and Time Wasted.

Unfortunately the longer we have used Techman the more bugs and issues we have uncovered. Techman are aware of many of the issues we have reported and do promise future updates to remedy these faults. However the big issue is for me is usability. Yes it does get the job done but sometimes it feels like it is working against you - like a bike with square wheels.

Pros

Good range of features, mot and service reminder system are good. Technical support are helpful

Cons

Many features are over complicated to use, the diary system can become 'messy' when jobs span more than one day. Can't search for customers by mobile number - even though it says you can. Can't send a text message to a customer from outside of a job (or estimate?) . There is button that allows you to create and send the text but it doesn't actually get sent to the customer. The process for returning parts is not obvious which can easily lead to user errors. Reporting is limited and exporting data is very limited. For us, CRM functionality is very poor.

Very bad, wouldn’t recommend! System is for dealer sized workshops! These people are true sales people! Once they have your signature for three years they don’t care!

Pros

Haynes and EuroCarParts integration is the only good thing about this

Cons

Expensive, difficult to use, no trials to test if it suits you as a business. Lack of customer support

Great customer service, technical guys are very helpful and friendly

Pros

I found the software made our company a lot stronger and the staff started to work as a team, ensure the customer was getting the service from us all

Cons

Rounding up invoices to a certain figure, if you wanted to make your job £295 you have get the right number, it would be nice to hit one button and round up figures
