Pros

Totem looks great and is intuitive to use.

I think there is opportunity to further develop the team challenges section.

Great, nice and easy-to-use software for internal company communication

Pros

As I wrote above; I like that the App (and even the admin desktop version) is well-designed, nice to look at, and fun to use. We used it in our company, which is a big German consultancy with nearly 1000 employees. I used questionnaires and put in calendar dates, too- all worked perfectly. All in all, it is a perfect Application for internal communication – for a short use (like a company convention) or for a long use (like using it instead of an Intranet). Additionally, I’d like to point out that the customer support of Play Consult is excellent.

Cons

I think Totem is a great application, and I would undoubtedly recommend it to anyone who’ll be asking. When it comes to “Cons” of Totem, then I’d say that though I love the idea of Kudos and its use, strictly speaking, I didn't experience that much different from likes you receive on Facebook or Twitter. Kudos are supposed to communicate "more" than a "like" (rather a thank you)- but Likes on Social Media are used this way too: likes of a Facebook post tell you as much about the post as about how well-liked/well-connected/active/popular he or she is. Having said that, in light of the recent data discussion of Facebook and Co., I’d always recommend and use Totem instead of Facebook (and setting a closed group an FB, for example), difference or not. Additionally, I'm unsure how engaging this system is for employees who don't receive that many Kudos. If the gap between you and "the top" is too big, I think it's possible that it may be disengaging.

Pros

small and large networks, however you set it out, various groups across the units, alumni organization, etc

Cons

still has lots to learn, we are working with the team to drive engagement and ease of use, am reasonably confident that we'll get there.

Pros

The software is great to be able to keep in touch with a remote team, and using this helps to monitor what is happening in the working week without having to be together, Our team also uses this for personal updates on what we have done over weekends and holidays, another great way to keep up with what the team do to relax as well

Cons

The Kudos and Badges, they seem to drive a specific behaviour and for a non-retail team this doesn't really work but I can see that this would work in a retail environment or where targets are set. My only frustration is when you set a challenge you cannot update this via the app you have to do it on CMS.

Pros

The vision with Totem was for a better connected team, and faster feedback for the teams at Head Office. There have been many examples of when Totem has met this vision and meant faster turnaround times for resolving issues for the team in-store.

Cons

There are times where other social apps are ahead of Totem. Hashtags, group chat being just some examples.

Informal look and feel yet very functional. Our staff enjoyed using it to get to know each other better.

Cons

Would be good if we could add a voting software and better search function - we used the software for an event which I appreciate is not its purpose!

Pros

Easy to use - not rules based; now allows different communication mediums from posts to videos etc.

Cons

Pictures are too small - only a problem because to be able to name check a team memeber useful to be able to recognise them from their profile.

Pros

A place for people to collab and share ideas/frustrations. A place for people with non-urgent queries to get support from other parts of the business or people who have more knowledge on situations

Cons

Posts need catagories, news/tech/merch/compliments etc, things get missed because there can be to much to quickly look through

Pros

The way we can keep connected and get short asks to each other quickly. The polls are a great tool to get feedback etc. Kudos is a great idea however would be good if it was by a like button

Cons

Sometimes can be slow. Would be good to have indefinite polls ie so we can use for training feedback.

Pros

I like having up to date info from my colleagues, especially the sharing of success stories and ideas. I also like the Kudos as it is a way of thanking my colleagues for what they have done

Cons

I really don't think there is anything I do not like. I enjoy using it and have not been on Facebook since.

Our team had a fairly low engagement score before we started using Totem. I have no doubt that we will see an improvement in this score next time the people survey comes around.

Pros

I love the fact that it has brought a team together that is dispersed work in different locations all round the world. The nature of our work is that one can feel quite lonely when working on a client job on their own. Totem has helped us support each other, ask questions, communicate and have some fun.

Cons

Something I would love to see in the future is an ability to add a little more detail to events.

Bringing all departments together, in particular field based and office employees, who wouldn't normally interact. Learning more about our organisation, and the contributions we all bring to our success

Pros

Ease of use, nice look and feel, simple to use, ability to consume huge amounts of information in a short time. Gives snapshots into different parts of the organisation.

Cons

CMS/Administration side of it could have additional features, including more simple ways to distribute access, more formatting features within newsfeed feature etc.

Pros

This app is great to get in contact with other work members about issues instead of sending pesky emails

Cons

One downside to this app is that you can not search for specific issues or solutions from the search bar, but its great that we can now search for other users but sometimes it is hard to remember who put up the solution or issue

Pros

kudos and eurospot features are fab we need more functions and like the voting system but it would be good to be able to track the votes etc we have used this function for the field force forum vote

bit fragmented in terms of number of user groups (I am in 4) which means you have to update each group every time

Cons

Not overly natural to pathway to give Kudos i.e. you can't give them from the news page, this could be easier.
