Pros

We use this tool to do our social media listening, and it's been a game-changer. We've been able to find and participate in conversations that we would have otherwise missed. The starter plan is a great value! The visual and audio insights are something we couldn't find with other social listening platforms.

Cons

Compared to other social listening platforms, the UX isn't the best, and it can be a little clunky. I would not recommend it for team members who have a hard time learning new technology. I also wish there were a mobile app. The website doesn't work well on a mobile device, and being able to access insights on the go is paramount for social media teams.

The data is close to real time, which allows us to follow developing conversations without delay. For clients who are sensitive to reputation shifts, that immediacy is important. The filtering capabilities are also robust. We often work on complex topics so being able to refine searches and adjust queries as projects evolve is essential. We maintain long-term monitoring topics for legacy clients, and we also build short-term topics for project-based research. The platform supports both. The audience and author views are particularly helpful. We need to understand who is driving a conversation, who is engaging, and how influence spreads. The ability to review authors, engagement levels, and related posts within a defined time frame supports the analytical work we deliver to clients. Support has been consistently responsive and practical. As long as social listening remains part of our client work, we expect YouScan to remain our primary platform.

Would be great to have option how to show only what we want to show and eliminate irrelevant visual content.

My overall experience with YouScan has been really nice. I was able to implement it quickly, scale it across two projects, and utilize it to quickly research other project opportunities. The price is very manageable for the tight budgets I work with. It was also relatively easy to train contractors on using the tool, thanks to YouScan's academy which can be done individually and at your own pace.

Pros

YouScan is the best "bang for your buck" tool on the social listening market right now. Unlike other platforms, it will not break the bank, and still comes with an extremely wide breadth of sources including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, which can be difficult to access on other social listening tools. The geographic range of sources was the top selling point for my team, as we required deep reseach capabilities in Central Asia, a region that is not well covered under other social listening tools. YouScan is on the leading edge of innovation, with tools like visual recognition and Copilot integration that are unmatched on the current market. I've found YouScan to be easy to use, though I had a background in social listening beforehand. But with the level of detailed attention and eager support provided by YouScan's customer service, I think anyone can take advantage of their services and quickly learn to use YouScan to its best capability. My team has used Youscan for nearly a year, to great success, monitoring two large infrastructure projects in an extremely complex information environment with a multitude of stakeholders and many mininformation campaigns. It helps us stay ahead of the noise and keep our clients informed on risks and opportunities related to their projects.

Cons

My only complaint about YouScan is the user interface for writing queries, which could be improved. It would be nice if the topics included subtopics, so writers do not have to manage such large queries. It's not impossible, but could be easier. It was also hard to wrap my head around YouScan's version of wildcarding, which is automatically applied to any keyword that's not in quotations. YouScan's documentation on the variants was not super helpful, in the end I put most of my keywords in quotes to avoid false positives.

We needed a social media listening tool to conduct research in Central Asian countries, a region which was not covered well in our previous tool. YouScan covers all the sources we need, including VK, OK, and Telegram. YouScan supports our monitoring work for a global multilateral involved in large infrastructure projects in Central Asia, helping keep them informed about key actors and stakeholders, public perception towards the projects, and any new or emerging risks in the area. What would have taken countless hours to search for manually on social media sites and google, YouScan now captures immediately and brings it all into one place. YouScan has been a very good addition to our social listening toolkit, offering us added coverage, ease of use and very helpful customer service.

Pros

YouScan offers more information sources that are not available in other tools, like TikTok content and the ability of integrating Google Maps reviews, among others. It is a very user-friendly platform. The fact that mention volume increases do not affect the project quotas is also a strenght. Customer Support has been very helpful and has addressed our questions and needs promptly.

Cons

The number of queries (in all plans) is very limited, which implies combining several projects into one query. This is not ideal for a medium or large operation, at least for agencies. Most other tools are not as restrictive on this matter, or don't have any limits. The "Search" tool (outside the Topics) provides very limited information since the sample is so small. Therefore it's useful only for very large volumes or for the mentions number. It is not competitive vs other platforms like Talkwalker. The AI (Copilot) integration within the dashboards could improve to include overiews of the general topic, instead of only specific highlights.

It plugged a gap we genuinely had no other way around — this wasn't a nice-to-have, it was in the brief and YouScan was the only tool that could actually do it reliably in that context and at the pace we needed. Beyond this project, we've been using YouScan across a few different briefs now and there's clear potential to expand further, particularly around video and TikTok capabilities which we're in the process of testing. If the coverage keeps improving, honestly, this could end up being the main tool rather than just one of several we're juggling. The team's been solid to work with, honestly — that stuff matters more than people admit when you're trying to fit a new tool into how you already operate.

Pros

Our client brief explicitly included logo detection around series of sport events, and it was never going to be something we could sidestep. Sport content is almost entirely visual — the photos from events, from sponsorship announcements, from fan coverage — and the logo is front and centre in all of it. If we hadn't been able to deliver on that, it would have been immediately obvious and the client would not have been happy. What YouScan gave us was a solution that actually worked for that specific context, quickly and reliably, at a point where our existing tool had already been asked and couldn't deliver fast enough. The support side of things has also been good — our manager \[sensitive content hidden\] is responsive and the team is open to working through things collaboratively, whether that's adding data sources, working through commercial arrangements, or just being available when something needs resolving. The comparative benchmarking capability was also valuable. Being able to set up separate topics for co-sponsors of the event and track their visibility alongside the client's gave us a much richer picture of how the sponsorship was performing in context — not just in absolute terms but relative to who else was on that car and in that paddock.

Cons

We work across a lot of markets and there are sources — particularly some regional and specialist ones — that we still need other tools for. We've shared a priority list and the team seems genuinely willing to work through it, so I'm cautiously optimistic, but right now it limits how central YouScan can be to our overall stack.

YouScan is an excellent tool for tracking brand mentions across social media and various platforms. I really appreciate how you can connect all relevant sources and monitor comments in one place. The automated sentiment and aspect tagging is a huge time-saver and gives a solid overview of brand health without manual effort. It's especially helpful when analyzing how product or policy changes (like updates to the Prius) impact customer perception. The ability to set up custom rules and tags is powerful – I use it for tracking specific campaigns or product updates. The dashboards are customizable, and the comparison features allow for a clear side-by-side analysis. Integration options are another big plus. We’ve connected YouScan with Slack, Telegram, and Freshdesk, among others. It’s great to control notification rules – daily summaries or alerts for high-risk mentions help us act fast when something important appears. Customer support is outstanding – super fast replies, escalation when needed, and they are genuinely open to feedback. There’s also an extensive knowledge base with examples and tutorials. Our account manager has been fantastic: they’ve walked us through the platform multiple times and ensured we felt confident using all features.

Cons

There is nothing particular to dislike, there are few things I'd like to see improved. There are some minor issues with the sentiment analysis – occasionally it misinterprets comments sentiment and requires manual adjustments where automation doesn’t get it right. Happens rarely, but it happens Dashboard data sometimes isn’t refreshed properly; I have to reload the page to see updated numbers, which is a bit inconvenient. Lastly, I would really love to see a native response feature. Right now, YouScan is amazing for monitoring, but it would be even better if we could reply directly to mentions from within the platform

Pros

In Youscan they collect a great social media and news dataset, then it is combined with a comprehensive and flexible system of queries, filters and analytics. It allowed us to identify not only mentions or publications about a brand or public figure, but also perform deep trend analysis, auditory segmentation, trace origins of various narratives, etc.

Cons

You have to pay for the volume of search results ;) With such a powerful tool you start to have ideas on what else you want to monitor/search for in various areas and topics. Pricing looks reasonable, though.

With this platform, it’s easy to track brand health, be the first to know about heated brand-related discussions, and protect the company from reputation crises. In addition, YouScan provides capabilities to find influencers and evaluate collaborations with them.

Cons

With YouScan, you can’t monitor Instagram stories. Unfortunately, there are no tools on the market that can provide access to this data.

We like that we only have to set everything up when we get started, and the system does the rest for us. Anytime we need, we can see real time analytics, also we've set up automatic sending of reports and alerts in case something may require our attention. Pros

YouScan helps track brand mentions and react to negative situations as quickly as possible. It helps to systemize the whole control of your brand on social media platforms.

Cons

The sentiment system can be improved, but it still works ok and helps a lot. As I know, developers constantly working to improve it.

Our overall experience is positive: we chose this vendor due to the product's functionality. Without this tool, we won't be able to analyze that amount of social data.

Pros

Accurately detected sentiment and aspects of mentions, comprehensive analytical capabilities, automated reporting, and the ability to customize the monitoring process. I also like that they listen to user feedback and introduce new features quite often.

Cons

Mobile app would add more flexibility to using the platform.

Pros

First of all, it's cheap and easy to use. Also, YouScan allows to create and delete search themes and export mentions without limitations. Built-in metrics are useful for express analysis but other exported data can be used to create custom indexes and diagrams with ease. Rules tool simplifies navigation through heavy mentioned objects and helps to structure information within the theme.

Cons

A lot of useful tools don't have interface solution. For example: to set a time limit or search for a sentence with punctuation mark you need to type it into an address bar.
