Overall, I am really happy with our experience with YouScan! It's been an invaluable service that's been added to our team workflows.

Pros

YouScan is a fantastic social listening tool. I love how easy it is to use, how robust its features are, and the small details they've included in the dashboards that really work well for social media managers. I also think their support team is some of the best I've worked with in the business, making it easy for the entire team to learn how to use these features.

Cons

So far, no big complaints about how YouScan works. The only thing I wish for more of was an understanding of which features need to be add-ons and topics.

Overall, YouScan is a high-value vendor for us. It aligns with our research-focused model and supports both ongoing monitoring and targeted projects. The breadth of social media platforms covered is one of its strongest advantages. In our experience, no other service provides comparable access across platforms and languages. The data is close to real time, which allows us to follow developing conversations without delay. For clients who are sensitive to reputation shifts, that immediacy is important. The filtering capabilities are also robust. We often work on complex topics so being able to refine searches and adjust queries as projects evolve is essential. We maintain long-term monitoring topics for legacy clients, and we also build short-term topics for project-based research. The platform supports both. The audience and author views are particularly helpful. We need to understand who is driving a conversation, who is engaging, and how influence spreads. The ability to review authors, engagement levels, and related posts within a defined time frame supports the analytical work we deliver to clients. Support has been consistently responsive and practical. As long as social listening remains part of our client work, we expect YouScan to remain our primary platform.

YouScan prioritizes social media listening across a wide range of the most-used platforms. The support and customer service is top-notch, as well.

Cons

It's inconvenient to have to re-authorize social media account access every three months, but it is understandable.

Pros

We use this tool to do our social media listening, and it's been a game-changer. We've been able to find and participate in conversations that we would have otherwise missed. The starter plan is a great value! The visual and audio insights are something we couldn't find with other social listening platforms.

Cons

Compared to other social listening platforms, the UX isn't the best, and it can be a little clunky. I would not recommend it for team members who have a hard time learning new technology. I also wish there were a mobile app. The website doesn't work well on a mobile device, and being able to access insights on the go is paramount for social media teams.

Would be great to have option how to show only what we want to show and eliminate irrelevant visual content.

My overall experience with YouScan has been really nice. I was able to implement it quickly, scale it across two projects, and utilize it to quickly research other project opportunities. The price is very manageable for the tight budgets I work with. It was also relatively easy to train contractors on using the tool, thanks to YouScan's academy which can be done individually and at your own pace.

Pros

YouScan is the best "bang for your buck" tool on the social listening market right now. Unlike other platforms, it will not break the bank, and still comes with an extremely wide breadth of sources including TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, which can be difficult to access on other social listening tools. The geographic range of sources was the top selling point for my team, as we required deep reseach capabilities in Central Asia, a region that is not well covered under other social listening tools. YouScan is on the leading edge of innovation, with tools like visual recognition and Copilot integration that are unmatched on the current market. I've found YouScan to be easy to use, though I had a background in social listening beforehand. But with the level of detailed attention and eager support provided by YouScan's customer service, I think anyone can take advantage of their services and quickly learn to use YouScan to its best capability. My team has used Youscan for nearly a year, to great success, monitoring two large infrastructure projects in an extremely complex information environment with a multitude of stakeholders and many mininformation campaigns. It helps us stay ahead of the noise and keep our clients informed on risks and opportunities related to their projects.

Cons

My only complaint about YouScan is the user interface for writing queries, which could be improved. It would be nice if the topics included subtopics, so writers do not have to manage such large queries. It's not impossible, but could be easier. It was also hard to wrap my head around YouScan's version of wildcarding, which is automatically applied to any keyword that's not in quotations. YouScan's documentation on the variants was not super helpful, in the end I put most of my keywords in quotes to avoid false positives.

YouScan covers all the sources we need, including VK, OK, and Telegram. YouScan supports our monitoring work for a global multilateral involved in large infrastructure projects in Central Asia, helping keep them informed about key actors and stakeholders, public perception towards the projects, and any new or emerging risks in the area. What would have taken countless hours to search for manually on social media sites and google, YouScan now captures immediately and brings it all into one place. Sometimes we analyze how conversation around a brand has changed over time while other times we monitor hot topics or viral content so clients can react quickly if something starts gaining traction online. With YouScan granting us access to TikTok data, we are able to consistently stay on top of the latest trends and flag important conversations happening in the moment. In addition to looking at specific brands and products, we also use listening tools for exploratory research projects. For example, looking at how people talk about certain trends or topics online. Having these additional data sources makes our job of quantifying and analyzing trends infinitely easier. Overall, YouScan has become a tool essential to our analysis. It doesn’t replace everything else, but it fills some key gaps and grants us another way to understand what people are saying online.

Pros

We originally subscribed to YouScan for its TikTok data, this is where it helps us the most, but we have found it to be very useful with Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, and X data as well. We use a variety of listening tools in our work, depending on the client and the type of project but because TikTok has become so hard to ignore if you’re trying to understand how people talk about brands online, YouScan has proven essential to our work. So much conversation happens on TikTok first, so having access to this data makes our work easier. Additionally, we’ve used YouScan for review data. That has been helpful on a few projects where social posts alone didn’t tell the full story. Reviews can reveal a different kind of user feedback, and aids our analysis alongside social conversations. In general, we keep track of what platforms are building and improving on over time. Our work changes from project to project, so it helps when a tool keeps adding new features and expanding what it can do.

Cons

Our team tends to do fairly deep analysis, and we usually combine several data sources together. Because of that, we often export data and work with it in other systems. Some built-in AI features are less important for our workflow since we’re already processing the information in other ways. Another thing we noticed while testing visual logo detection is that it needs some careful setup. If a logo shape is very simple, it can sometimes match things that aren’t actually related. That’s not unusual for visual recognition tools, but it does mean you need to spend some time cleaning up the search. Lastly, we have run into some challenges with the time required for historical collection. While timing can vary depending on the complexity or size of a topic, these inconsistencies can sometimes lead to analyses being completed down to the wire.

On the few occasions when my team and I needed support, we received it quickly. For all of these reasons, I can say that my overall experience has been excellent.

Among the main strengths are certainly its ease of use, combined with the ability to carry out different types of analysis thanks to access to an extensive database. The application of filters is particularly valuable, as it allows users to select the desired level of analytical detail and offers a high degree of customization. In addition, the Insight Co-pilot feature helps quickly retrieve information and supports high-quality qualitative analysis.

Cons

One weakness I noticed lies in the limitations of Instagram monitoring, which depends on the presence of hashtags in posts and therefore narrows the overall monitoring scope.

All these (and not only these) things help different political institutions work more promptly in their daily communication, respond in a timely manner to the fakes and build more adequate communication strategy, be more flexible and modern. All data become the ground for decisions.

We really admired by the work with this software and all the team who creates and develops this product. We use YouScan for specific socio-political purposes that is why the most important things are the possibility identify trends, possibility to work with the big data. These our requests are satisfied with the product more over very client oriented position of the support team allows to solve all questions as prompt as it possible.

Cons

I can\`t say that we really suffer from absence some things that we need but it will be great to have the opportunity to work with even more complex reports. When we can download data with the author identification and full information about him. Now we can do that but in two different files - author report and general analytics. One more important thing - correct identification of the connotation. We really need it very much but now it is incorrect.

We like that we only have to set everything up when we get started, and the system does the rest for us. Anytime we need, we can see real time analytics, also we've set up automatic sending of reports and alerts in case something may require our attention. Aspects in comparison with our competitors is a super valuable info. We were also impressed with how the system detects logos in the images.

For us as a startup, it used to be a relatively expensive tool, so we're glad YouScan has introduced smaller packages for SMBs.

I like the product and it's help in our everyday SERM.

Pros

It gives the overall picture of informational field and helps to react on each case.

Cons

Sometimes it is not so quick as I want. And of course I want a deeper monitoring with more channels.
