### "Open Table For The Win! "

So far our experience with open table has been great. Plea t if training, plenary of excellent communication and plenty of new business. The ability to make notes about our customers needs, wants, likes and dislikes is a great tool. Tracking our reservations is obviously very helpful, seeing our calendar booked out is wonderful, and gathering customer details for future communication and business is also a huge bonus.

Pros

We live in a small area and not a lot of restaurants use Open Table (assume due to the cost), so right off the bat this system is a win for us because it’s a tourist town. People come from other areas and are used to using this platform, so to be one of the few restaurants that’s available to make reservations is an incredible opportunity for us. It’s organization and marketing in one. We covered our monthly subscription in 1 night of use.

Cons

No complaints so far! We are new to using this system, but so far the training has been great, as has the business we’ve received using the system.

Pros

It makes managing multiple simultaneous reservations a breeze. I love this software and it makes my life easier.

Cons

I can't think of any missing features. If I had to think of something... I'm not sure all menus are available in the app. If not it would be useful if anywhere you are ordering from has an up to date menu.

Pros

The POS integration and that it is widely used by patrons as a go to reservation source.

Cons

Would like more customizable reporting features on the back end and shortcut features on the floorplan view for hosts. We used Yelp prior to switching to OpenTable and their user interface for hosts had more shortcut features that our hosts do miss.

### ""Table for two, please" has never been easier "

Overall, if you're a frequent restaurant diner, you must have Open Table. There are places that will tell you there are no reservations available, but Open Table updates in real time when reservations are cancelled and will even notify you if a table opens in a booked-out restaurant you are looking to dine in. It's also great when dining with a group, because you can filter by cuisines, group size, distance and other factors.

Pros

I like being able to have options by simply using my location to find restaurants near me that have open tables for my group size. No more going from place to place, waiting for a table. I also like the reminders that come via text and the ability to add the reservation to my Google Calendar.

Cons

They have a rewards program, but the app makes it unclear as to how to qualify or what the qualifiers are to earn rewards, but it sends you a notification on each reservation that you didn't earn them. It's really confusing, because the reminder that you're not earning rewards should then include instructions on how to do so.

### "Great to make online reservations"

Overall OpenTable is a great tool to make online reservations; however, I do feel that they need to make some improvements especially regarding the reward program to make it more appealing.

Pros

I use OpenTable almost on a daily basis to make reservations for both business and personal lunches or dinners. It is very easy to use and you can book a table at a restaurant within minutes. I like that you can search restaurants by neighborhood but also by cuisine and price range. It is also very easy to cancel or modify a reservation. The app is also very convenient for any on the go need.

Cons

Their reward program is not appealing. The VIP status doesn't grant you anything. I wish they would design a program where VIP members get preferred seating, timing etc. Moreover, after you collect a certain amount of points, you get a voucher towards a future reservation; however I noticed that the selection of restaurants that accept the voucher is extremely limited. Additionally, not all restaurants are listed on OpenTable, which sometimes is not ideal

Overall, it is a great system that is easy to navigate. I like how there is incentives attached to it in order to keep restaurants and their guests to use it. Also, I usually never have a problem with my bookings over OpenTable - when I arrive at a restaurant, my booking is always accurate.

Pros

The layout of the site is easy to navigate and use when it comes to booking a reservation, especially at restaurants that are popular and hard to get a table at if you simply walked it. You can book for dates in advance, easily book a table for the amount of guests that are needed and you can sometimes book a table in a certain area of the restaurant (depending if the specific restaurant allows for it on OpenTable). You can also gain points if you use the site frequently that can be converted into giftcards!

Cons

I'm still wary of the keeping of credit card information on the site, but it is understandable to keep incase of a no-show/late cancellation fee.

Pros

I love the features of adding to calendars, sending reminders, inviting guests and canceling when necessary. I also love to see the ratings for the restaurants and their menus.

Cons

There is not anything that I don't like about the software.

Pros

When you find a restaurant on GoogleMap, you can see the book button and link to opentable, it's easy to make a request and reservation, save lots of time to have a booking. (Most of the restaurant still need to call to book)

Cons

It will be better if they can provide some discount to book on the app, like the fork application in Europe, so people will be willing to try on different types and new thing.

Pros

Open table allows you to find a place to eat and make a reservation, quickly and easily. The search is easy to use and fully customizable. You can search which restaurants are available around a particular time. You can also search for a particular restaurant and it will give you times that it is available closest to the time you requested. You can access most restaurants menus right from the app, so if you want to have a look before committing to a place, you can do it right there. It also allows you to invite guests through the app and provides easy integration with your and any guests' calendars. It also sends reminders for your upcoming reservation. If you need to change or cancel a reservation this is also very intuitive and easy to do.

Cons

Apparently you earn points while making reservations. It seems to take a long time for these to accumulate even though I eat out a lot, and I'm still not clear on what the points can be redeemed for.

Overall, OpenTable solves a real need and is easy to use. Would recommend it highly.

Pros

OpenTable is a phenomenal software that allows users to book and change reservations at various restaurants across the United States. It is, simply put, the go to reservation platform. The best part is that users accrue points and can redeem those points for rewards.

Cons

While redeeming points is a great idea in theory, in practice it is overly cumbersome and somewhat challenging to do, particularly for elderly users of the app. If there is one adjustment OpenTable could make, it would be to increase the ease with which users can convert points into cash.

The main problem solved is time. No one wants to use a phone to make a call more than they have to, and they certainly don't like to have to wait. OpenTable helps with making reservations quickly and effortlessly.

Pros

OpenTable is very easy to use. While I'm a little computer savvy, I've no patience for sites that are glitchy or too complicated. I'm able to make my reservations easily, choosing the time and the number of people and can also, when necessary, make special requests. I make a lot of the reservations for family, friends and colleagues and because I know I can count on OpenTable, they know they can count on me. And best of all, it's quick; no more waiting on hold, no conversation over the loud noises of the restaurant. I also love the text / email reminders. This is a big help with a busy schedule; it's one less thing to keep track of.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything that can be improved. Everything has worked smoothly thus far.

Pros

Allowing guests to book online and opening up space for guests to book online is super helpful and helps bring in extra $$$.

Cons

I wish that the desktop and ipad version were the same. I wish you could block tables on the dekstop version like you do on the ipad.

Pros

Great and convenient for scheduling reservations, it prevents you from having to speak with staff at an establishment. You can leave notes regarding your reservations and it has the option to place the event on your calendar

Cons

Maybe they could add a check in feature once you arrive at the location to notify the establishment that you are there. But overall the product is great

Easy and convenient. Painless way to make a quick restaurant reservations without being put on hold or talking to a person. Can view manu and everything there is to know about restaurant I'm looking at online.

Pros

I have been using open table on both sides. I use it to make my personal restaurant reservations and I use it at the restaurant I work for as a server. I love that when I view restaurants and want to make a reservation about 70% of total restaurants have open table. Its quick and painless way to make a reservation without being put on hold by a hostess..sometimes for very very long time. It give you chose of time and you can read all about the place you looking at. It shows you :hours, Entertainment, menu, you see photos that costumers posted, you see map of location, even who the chef is. Making reservation takes less then 10 seconds!!!! Fast and confident. As a worker it's very easy to operate system. Brainless I would say. I like that I can make notes for each reservation. Such a sever request or allergy.

Cons

For my personal use I never had an issue. As me working with open table every here and then reservations are not showing on my side as hostess/server. I had few angry guest. Will never know if that was a costumer fult or open table system fult for not processing reservation.

### "Great app for reservations"

Pros

It’s easy to use and lots of restaurants are on it. Whenever I need to make a reservation, it’s the first place I check.

Cons

The only issue I’ve ever had is when trying to redeem dining rewards with a restaurant. Even though I booked a reservation with a restaurant that should have accepted my dining credit, they didn’t take it. However, OpenTable customer service handled the situation quickly and efficiently.

Pros

Easy to use, provides great marketing options, well supported. The product support has been great, operationally and from our representative.

Cons

More expensive than newer reservation system software, but has many more benefits and a larger market presence.

Reason for choosing OpenTable

We have been offered Resy and others, but Open Table still has the largest internet presence and customer base. We have a long-standing, positive relationship with Open Table.

### "Not only great for reservations......"

OpenTable has been great for running the dining room more efficiently, and allows us to maximize our reservations and table turns like never before. Our hosts can confidently run the dining room from the tablet at the host stand and deal with all the reservations, walk ins, call aheads, using a waiting list. Everything is very easy to manage. With the ability to enter such succinct information about each table sat as to where they are in their meal, whether it is appetizer, meal, dessert, is the check on the table....it makes it much easier to estimate when a table will be done, so we can quote guests the proper wait time. I have been thoroughly impressed with OpenTable since we started using it a few years ago.

Pros

Most everything you can do with this software is very intuitive. Very easy to learn how to do multiple things very quickly and very easy to teach my other employees to do the same. I love how I can run my dining room on a busy weekend night from my tablet and be in complete control of all reservations, walk ins, and call aheads.

Cons

Very few issues with this software. If i had to come up with one for the review, i would say that it can be slightly buggy every once in awhile. What i mean is, some settings that i have changed to block tables for reservations or reconfigure the dining room setup can revert to previous settings without my doing. Once in a blue moon, but it is very frustrating when it happens.

Makes reservations and life easier when it comes to planning.

Pros

I love the ability to see what restaurants have availability on what works for my schedule. It's easier to coordinate with others for seating time because I can just screenshot the options to my party and we can decide instead of calling. I also love the email confirmation and ability to put it in my Google calendar.

Cons

I haven't had any associated negative issues with the app

Overall, my experience with OpenTable has been pleasant and convenient for the most part. I've had no problems thus far with using the app and their functionality makes me feel like I'm in control. As a type of hospitality service, OpenTable is not only useful, but efficient in helping me make a reservation.

Pros

I enjoyed OpenTable's functionality, ease of use, and clear menu interface. It's almost set up like a restaurant menu, in which you choose where you want to eat. The site combines what you might see on a food delivery site with the info-panels of Google, making for a well-rounded experience when trying to book. On an emotional level, I also believe that OpenTable makes you feel good about yourself for being able to reserve a spot just for you or your friends, for being "the first" to get there. There's a sense of ownership with OpenTable, that you're in control and the site, much like the restaurant, is there to serve you in the end.

Cons

Going deeper into the site to reserve a table often can seem overwhelming, especially when the site presents you with a bit too much information. I also feel like its "Experiences" section is irrelevant, at least to me, in that I'm booking just for a meal, not for some type of so-called experience or event. To place Experiences before the actual Menu, as they often do, is also a bit misleading and makes you work a little to find the food items. You'd think they'd place Menu at the very top.

OpenTable is great. It's a 2-way street. Be polite - if you need to cancel your reservation, be sure to contact the venue & update your reservation.

Pros

It's so easy to make a reservation. Choose a location, type of food, sort by rating/price or what not. Select the time, date, send invites. Interact with the venue with specifics. Done!

Cons

Wish you could book larger groups, but I get it. I'm sure OpenTable wishes they could book larger groups, too. Oh, you certainly don't see restaurants in the area that don't use OpenTable, so you could have more choices.

Not enough to list. Exposure, but it's limited for smaller companies.

Pros

It allows you to assign tables in the restaurant as they come in and shoes a fairly good job of tracking several metrics like turn time, server cover counts, etc. It also has ways to advertise and draw in customers who may not know about you.

Cons

It's impossible to compete. With the difficulty in finding a restaurant as a customer it translates to moe exposure for larger chain restaurants with budgets to throw at open table. Also, it's pricey. The cost per guest that books is unreasonable and you still have to pay more to advertise. It's just not worth it in my opinion. That are cheaper methods available that focus on phone number advertising as opposed to email (because who opens email nowadays). There are text message options with open table but they are buried and not effective.

### "A great tool for restaurant"

We have used them for years and would highly recommend them to small, non-corporate restaurants trying to be seen amongst so many local restaurants.

Pros

Easy for our guests to make reservations, tracks guests visits, you can enter guest notes and historical data to make their next visit more meaningful. They often have "Top Ten" lists for the categories that guests vote you in that you can use for marketing purposes. Reviews on Open Table are considered 'legit' as only real diners can write reviews.

Cons

If you have more money to spend, a program like SevenRooms has more guest tracking data capabilities for tagging and targeted emails/marketing. Can get expensive if your guests often use Open Table to make reservations.
