### "Flawed from a User Perspective"

August 31, 2021

3.0

We find it irksome, from a user perspective, to book reservations when we are in an office or public environment with excellent connectivity, and then when traveling to a remote area for the location of said reservation (in one instance, the Lake Tahoe Basin), being unable to get a strong signal to connect or remain connected has made it impossible to check in, modify, or address reservations issues, which then come back to "bite the user" in the form of lost points and emails admonishing "missed" reservations, which were in some cases, NOT missed.

Pros

Ease in booking reservations and discovering participating restaurants previously unknown

Cons

As a user, there are numerous flaws which reveal themselves when in areas with poor or weak connectivity which disables the ability to access reservations, modify, change, or confirm, and any resulting issues with said reservation can come at a cost to the user (in the form of lost points, demerits for 'not checking in' etc.

My experience is very good I really recommend it

Pros

Possibility to view and evaluate different options of restaurants in one place. Very easy to make a reservation

Cons

The appearance could be improved. Sometimes it is difficult to sort the restaurants by price. It could have more filters by type of food.

### "OpenTable "

January 24, 2019

5.0

Pros

Very convenient and has great features such as the map option. Makes it much easier to gauge the available restaurants around you. As an assistant, their feature that allows you to add different names for different reservations is amazing. Many competitors do not allow you to have multiple names under one account which is not helpful when you manage calendars for several executives.

Cons

It seems as though there are glitches on the restaurant side. I've had various reservations that were "cancelled" or marked as "no shows" even though I was there.

### "Grab those customers that are just outside your sphere of influence"

July 29, 2019

3.0

Use OpenTable to grab those customers that are on the fence and make them interested in coming in, if not only to show them you care about giving them more options to dine.

Pros

When I first worked at a restaurant and used OpenTable, I was reluctant to believe it could replace our current IT system which worked without any bells or whistles. But I soon realized that OpenTable is not merely a system to help make reservations but a powerful way to edge closer those customers that are just outside your sphere of influence. Of course, there's Google Search and Yelp. However, when I asked customers how they found us or why the chose our restaurant, they said they were interested by the option to book through OpenTable. Without that option, we would have been the obscure listing hidden on the third search page (and who really goes past the first two, right?)

Cons

The last minute cancellation but it wasn't as bad as say people ghosting on a reservation made by calling in.

### "Love it! "

December 17, 2019

5.0

I loved that the product keeps growing and improving. I've been using it at this restaurant since I started, and it's already grown leaps and bounds.

Pros

It was very easy to train on using this software, and I am now able to easily show new hostess the program and how to use it daily. There are constantly updates and suggestions coming out for the software, it's wonderful.

Cons

If it could prompt some type of reminder if a time slot that you've been looking at, comes available. example: if Ms. Smith calls and wants Wednesday at 10:00, and I look and we have nothing - if I could be triggered with an alert if that date/time comes open at a later date with the ability to put in some notes on who was previously looking at that time.

### "Great Way to Make Quick Reservations!"

April 25, 2019

5.0

My overall experiences with OpenTable have been really great. I use OpenTable fairly often, especially with restaurants that I know require a reservation because it will be pretty much impossible to get a table without one. I rely on OpenTable and I have never had a bad experience. I never needed to worry that the restaurant I chose didn't get the reservation request. It is also good about giving you alternative times if the restaurant is booked for your selected times.

Pros

I love how simple and easy to use this software is. It is so quick and you can use it at any time. They let you pick any time and any amount of people and this works for pretty much every restaurant. I also like that the software sends reminder emails and texts to you about your upcoming reservation. There is also an option to add your reservation to your calendar. OpenTable is also very reliable, so you don't need to be nervous about whether or not the restaurant actually received your reservation request, especially because you get a confirmation.

Cons

There is nothing that I dislike about this software. I don't really understand what the points are for that you get when you make a reservation. This software is free to use, so I don't really understand why anyone would need the points because it doesn't give you coupons or rewards to use at the restaurants.

### "Amazing way of getting more customers"

April 15, 2020

5.0

Using the Guest Center from OpenTable has improved my skills when managing large operations inside a restaurant, has widened my eyes when comes to the hospitality industry.

Pros

When a restaurant is shown on Connect platform from OpenTable their customers increase so well when they book a reservation from this tool. I think OpenTable helps tourism to go further allowing low fees from the enterprises, can it be better?

Cons

The only thing I may be worried about is the fact that a reservation gets as faster as is needed. Besides that, I think OpenTable is a great company to look at.

### "Great for planning client lunches"

March 5, 2019

5.0

I use OpenTable for professional purposes (i.e. booking business lunches, client meetings, etc.), and for business travel. My work often sends me to unfamiliar cities (Cincinnatti, Boise, etc.) and it's great to have an app in-hand to look up options and make reservations based on group size.

Pros

I love how intuitive and user-friendly OpenTable is. It's also easy to narrow down restaurant options by availability, neighborhood, and cuisine. The new rewards program is a phenomenal incentive, and it's great that the app can provide options while you're traveling.

Cons

Occasionally the restaurants will call to confirm or ask a question about a reservation, which can be annoying because the app should take care of that. It's not a huge hassle, but seems redundant and should theoretically be handled in the app alone. It would also be great if more restaurants that take reservations were on the app, but that's not a reflection of its function at all.

### "easy to book a reservation and link to any calendar"

June 6, 2024

5.0

Pros

When you find a restaurant on GoogleMap, you can see the book button and link to opentable, it's easy to make a request and reservation, save lots of time to have a booking. (Most of the restaurant still need to call to book)

Cons

It will be better if they can provide some discount to book on the app, like the fork application in Europe, so people will be willing to try on different types and new thing.

### "Reservations Made Easy"

November 6, 2019

5.0

Overall I have loved my experience with OpenTable for Restaurants. As someone who does not like to spend time on the phone, this app streamlined the process of making reservations. It literally takes me seconds to reserve a spot at a table anywhere I want, as long as it is supported by the app.

Pros

This software makes reserving a seat at a restaurant very simple. The app gives you the ability to select a time slot and the number of seats you want to reserve and then does the rest of the work for you. This saves the user the pain of calling a restaurant, being put on hold, and spending unnecessary time on the phone. I'm sure it is also convenient on the restaurant side as well.

Cons

I would like to see additional restaurant locations added to the software here. I don't know if that would require some kind of agreement between the developers and the restaurants involved, but I would like to see some features that would enable reservations at any restaurant the user wanted to visit.

### "Easiest way to make a reservation"

June 6, 2024

5.0

Pros

I love that I don't have to call into a restaurant. Instead, I can make a reservation conveniently from my phone at any time and ensure that we are correctly in the restaurant's system. I can even leave notes for the owner.

Cons

There have been times where it doesn't allow for us to make a reservation but there is indeed capacity at the restaurant. I think this is more of an error on the restaurant's end.

### "OpenTable "

May 7, 2019

3.0

OpenTable is not the most exciting or savvy app out there, but it doesn't hurt to make your reservation through OpenTable if/when plausible as a means to eventually earn a little bit of money toward eating out.

Pros

OpenTable allows users to make reservations at some of their favorite restaurants on the run, with ease. OpenTable also gives a bit of reward in the form of "points" for using their app to make your reservation. You can accommodate time, date, occasion, and more as you book your reservation. It's also a simple way to see what near you has availability if you're out on the town without a reservation ready to go.

Cons

OpenTable's rewards program is minimal. Further, you now have to select that you would like to receive points for your reservation (what would the point of using the app be otherwise...why isn't this automated anymore if not to get OpenTable out of rewarding users...). The communication between OpenTable and restaurants also seems to be relatively non-existent. As an example, I booked a reservation for my partner's birthday (which is also Valentine's Day) through OpenTable. They accommodated neither holiday despite my efforts to provide details etc. There was no follow-up from the restaurant nor OpenTable when I followed-up on the issue.

### "Good for reservations, not the best selection"

August 16, 2023

3.0

Overall it does what it's supposed to do, but not overly impressed with the service.

Pros

Really just use it to make restaurant reservations. The reservation will sync to my calendar and I can invite other attendees.

Cons

A lot of restaurants use Resy or other platforms, so the selection is sub-par. The menus/prices shown are usually out of date. Also you typically cannot book a large group on OpenTable

### "Open Table/ Dirty Table"

December 10, 2017

4.0

Pros

The ease of access of this app is too good for words. If everyone is sufficiently trained, and staff members are on their A game, this is app is quite helpful and useful. It allows all members of staff to update the POS system in order to communicate quickly what status a table is at. It is also helpful with assigning tables to certain parties and deciding upon wait times. For the Hostess, this system is great all all hosts should learn this program at some point in their career. I would only say that it is harder to expect a server to stay on top of updating the system for the hosts throughout their steps of service.

Cons

While the overall application is easy to use and very informative, it does tend to send some mixed signals between servers and hosts if not used properly. The app shows table layout on the screen that allows the user to see which tables have guests, which tables are empty but need to be bussed, and which tables are ready for new guests to be seated. The problem here is that unless a server has time between taking care of her other guests to run to a POS station to inform a hostess that a table is dirty and then find time 5-10 minutes later to see if her buster has cleaned the table and then update the table through the system, clean tables are forgotten and wait times are lengthened due to miscommunications. The structure itself is easy to use, however it seems to add

### "OpenTable Review"

Your restaurant needs OpenTable to help keep your restaurant running smoothly and continue to have happy and satisfied customers. No fuss and no hassle reservations.

Pros

Are you tired of having people call into your restaurant to reserve a table? Are you tired of people coming up to the host stand to inquire about where in line they are for being seated? Look no further than OpenTable. Every restaurant should be using this app for scheduling customers.

Cons

At first, the app is a little hard to navigate. But once you get a handle on it it's very easy to use.

### "Effortless and Convenient Booking with OpenTable"

January 20, 2023

5.0

I have had a great experience with OpenTable overall. The website is easy to use and booking is a breeze. Even if I have encountered an occasional issue, OpenTable customer service has been very helpful in resolving it. I would definitely recommend OpenTable for anyone looking for an easy and convenient way to book a table.

Pros

I recently used OpenTable to book a table at a popular restaurant and was really impressed with how easy it was. The website was easy to navigate, the booking process was straightforward, and I received a confirmation email within minutes. It was a great experience and I'd highly recommend OpenTable to anyone looking for an effortless and convenient way to book a table.

Cons

I encountered a few issues with OpenTable, such as not being able to get a table at a restaurant that I had booked, even though I had a confirmation email. Luckily, OpenTable customer service was very helpful and resolved the issue quickly, but it was a bit of a hassle.

### "Bequem und Garantiert"

January 4, 2024

5.0

### "My Favorite Restaurant Reservation Software"

August 29, 2022

4.0

OpenTable is great for booking way ahead of time or last minute. It is great for reading authentic reviews and having fast access to menus and directions. If you live in a big city, there is a vast selection of restaurants to choose from. But the farther you get from the big cities the more scarce it gets. OpenTable rose to prominence with millennials flocking to cities but as this generation ages and moves a little further out to start families, hopefully OpenTable follows them and increasingly shows up at more casual suburban chains

Pros

OpenTable makes booking reservations very easy, there's a wide variety of restaurants with their software integrated into the PoS systems and it is rewarding to earn points for dining.

Cons

OpenTable points should NEVER expire. This is the one sketchy/shady thing about OpenTable. During the past 9 years, I've had points expire on me mysteriously and its always left a bad taste.

### "OpenTable"

Very good experience using the app, can send invites to friends that use the app and also create a calendar event in my calendar app to keep track of all reservations.

Pros

Great all-in-one app to make reservations in Australia. Some restaurants take a booking fee and OpenTable has a feature to allow for it as well.

Cons

None directed to OpenTable, just hope more restaurants get on the app instead of having to use google maps and slowly check ideal restaurants for the meal.

### "Longtime user"

February 16, 2021

5.0

So far our experience has been very good. We are even giving their online ordering a try through our 2nd location.

Pros

User friendly and easy to navigate. Also a very established business for online reservations, which mean that most of our staff has worked with it in the past and is familiar with the layout and set-up of it. Very good customer support and is very knowledgeable about the software and can easily talk you through whatever process you are looking at completing.

Cons

Little clunky and cluttered to navigate around it via the app. Also a lot of steps to add guest into the system for simple just seating a walk-in.

Alternatives considered

### "A Consumer's Dream"

January 18, 2022

5.0

I first downloaded OpenTable when my boyfriend and I wanted to go to this insanely popular breakfast spot in Washington DC. We had been there many times before and the wait was always a minimum of 45 minutes. I called the restaurant to see what the wait time would be and the hostess told me about the app. Since the first use, I was sold. Surprising that it's not more well known, if you ask me.

Pros

What the software does is quite cool. Many restaurants these days don't take reservations so you're forced to try your luck and hope for a short wait time. With OpenTable, that's not an issue; what they do is place your name on the list of guests that the restaurant already has. All you have to do is make sure you get there when it's your turn. You spend your "wait time" doing whatever you want (including rolling out of bed). The amount of time saved is fantastic; plus, you don't have to stand around waiting with people during the pandemic. You can also order food for delivery or pickup.

Cons

I think my only complaint would be the fact that availability outside of my area is scarce. I travel a lot to and from Atlanta, LA, and Vegas. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by the availability here in DC.

### "Quick Way to Book a Table at your favorite restaurant "

June 26, 2022

5.0

Overall experience has been good. I have booked several dates (dinner and lunch) using this application.

Pros

Open Table is one of the best ways to reserve a table with a click of a few buttons on the app, hassle free, no phone calls needed. The application is designed nicely to view options, help book the right restaurant, view pictures, how costly the meal will be as well as the timing of the reservation. The app also provides suggestions based on the area you are looking to dine at. Another good feature is that Open table is available nationally and internationally as well. The app also allows to read reviews from other people which helps make a more confident decision before reserving a particular restaurant. The application also allow you to place orders for the to-go/take-out option by phone call.

Cons

No real con that I have experienced so far. The recommendation will be to include as many restaurants as possible
