Great, simple layout and easy to navigate thru it to make reservations and give reviews. They offer plenty of available times to reserve and I love the larger than usual digital buttons to make your selections. Easy planning and searching! Cons A great feature to add would be an email or text alert if a time slot you desire becomes available. Some of the more upscale restaurants chose a different software app for their patrons. Would be a good idea to implement a rewards system...the more reviews you write, you accumulate points that can be used as a credit to a restaurant. What I like most is that it recommends restaurants based on old reservations and also give you reminders on upcoming holidays. They have a great and easy way to look up restaurants and with a larger crowd sourcing platform you get exactly what you expect. Never had any issues using this software. Cons What I like least about this is that is is not a comprehensive platform for all restaurants. This would be the best if it was the end all of all food reservation and review software. Love that customers enter their own details-- too many times we've had hosts mishear phone numbers or misunderstand dates. Pros Ability to text those on the waitlist at the click of a button, how customizable table setup can be to make it look exactly like our multi-floor restaurant layout, ease of customizing server profiles/keeping track of who's next in rotation automatically. Keeps record of heads per each table sat so keeps servers satisfied they aren't being jipped Cons Only allows 3 texts per guest-- not ideal for busy brunch spots. Pros The thing I like most about OpenTable is the automatic input that reservations placed online have. Once I get a reservation I accept and that is it! It also allows for other options like the occasion or allergies. It is also a multi-platform software so I can use it on a desktop or a mobile device. Cons The thing I like least is I wish it suggested alternative restaurants in the area that are similar in case I cannot book a certain place. Search the restaurant name or use the link provided from a restaurants website, pick a date & time, select the number of guests, and book! Leave a review after and even drop a picture of your meal Pros My favorite part of OpenTable is the ease of use when making reservations and how much information is available besides just the ability to make a reservation. Not just can you make a reservation but you can view customer notes, reviews, and ratings of restaurants! It's also really easy to make a reservation whether you're in the mobile app or using the desktop website. Cons I don't have any cons with OpenTable, it's perfect in my opinion. I enjoyed using this app and I like it when I get reservations and places to go to eat. Pros What I like about OpenTable is that I can reserve a table, view places to eat, find cuisines, enjoy, and meet people. Also, to view the menus, specials, and promotions, and see OpenTable's rewards systems. Cons There is not much I dislike or hate on OpenTable so far but it's fine and nice so far. So far, so good for me when it comes to OpenTable. I love how easy it is to search for reservations in any city in any area. I find it especially useful for making reservations for holidays like Valentine’s Day well in advance before everywhere is booked up. Cons I wish they did not get rid of the filters. I can’t find them anywhere in list mode or map mode. I also don’t like that they don’t include a link to a restaurant’s website. It made the experience smoother for our FOH staff, especially our FOH manager and hostess. Pros The best thing about OpenTable is you're able to see who will be coming to your restaurant in advance. I don't necessarily mean each day (although that was great too!), but in the days prior. We were able to staff the restaurant accordingly by how many guests we were expecting. The interface was smooth and reliable on both our end and that of our guests. Cons There weren't many flaws with OpenTable. Pros OpenTable has been easy to use when it comes to booking a dinner table online (you can pick time, amount of people in party). A decent amount of restaurants have been using this website/ap now because of limited capacity due to COVID. I like the concept because it helps guarantee there is a table waiting for us and we do not have to wait (especially now because some restaurants are having you wait in the car). Cons The only downfall is sometimes if you need to cancel/edit the time, it doesn't always alert the restaurant right away (the communication seems to lag). Review Source KB Kesha B. Operations Publishing Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Perfect solution for a busy traveler" October 22, 2023 4.0 We downloaded this for a business trip because I knew we would be looking for places to take clients for lunch and dinner. It worked perfect for our needs. We also use it for travel baseball, because we spend at least two weekends out of town each month, and looking for places that can accomodate or trying new spots to eat can be a full time job. Opentable makes it easy to search up and make a reservation, and it's just a few clicks. Very easy to use, and we've told all the baseball parents about it. Pros Ease of use, and selection of resteraunts. Great to highlight availability, and integrates well with a scheduling software. Cons They are focused on high end establishments, which are ones that take reservations. But they are missing an opportunity for groups, or places that can place a last minute group, like a travel baseball team or a business team meeting. I have used this service countless times even to book last minute reservations. Customer service always responds back promptly and the platform is always getting updated. Pros This service has always been my go-to for any personal reservation needs. The service is very friendly for any first time user. I always use my mobile phone when booking reservations and the process is always seamless. It is often times helpful to look at reviews, menu, and pictures that opentable provides before booking a reservation. Cons I am occasionally frustrated when the restaurant I would like to book isn't offered on opentable. I have also found that the website will sometimes crash or freeze when placing the reservation. I use it to find restaurants easily and reliably when I travel. It's much more convenient than having to call the restaurant. I can make reservations any time of the day and go back-and-forth between restaurants to compare available times. Then, after I finish making my reservation, I could send the information to the other people in my party with just one click. Because of this product, I have tried many new restaurants and in many different areas that I wouldn't have otherwise tried. And, of course, the point system gets me a coupon every so often. Cons My biggest complaint is with the interface. I use it as an app on my phone mostly and sometimes I have trouble finding what I'm looking for. It works much better on the desktop. I regularly make reservations using the OpenTable app. It is an easy way to find available restaurants and share the reservation details with guests. Cons I really like the OpenTable rate and can't really think of anything specific to report. I find it very useful.
