Pros We run a large franchise business across New Zealand and Australia. The fact that it is cloud based makes it very easy for us to use anywhere,anytime. I also like the team and their approach to listening closely to feedback from users, they’re always looking to improve the system. Cons Hard to say. Owner is not very happy. Pros Counting tool, separated line-items and templates. Cons How we cannot measure in the plans due to manual scaling and the formatting cannot be fixed. I was told a few times that this is not a priority for the design team. Overall I’m pleased with how everything is going. Pros The software has incredible features that saves a ton of time and updates our professional image. The training support has been incredible and the trainers are very helpful and kind. 100% recommend. Cons It takes a bit to get the hang of it but the training support is great and no software with these options is will not have a learning curve. There are a couple features I would like to see but it seems that they are continuously working to add more suggestions that are offered. Less glitches and easy to use. It does have a few less features but its reliability and supplier integration makes it worthwhile. Pros It's easy to use and doesn't take long to teach new employees how to use it. It is also very reliable, I have only experienced 1 outage. The supplier integration is a key feature for us. Our Bunnings pricelist is hundreds of items and prices get updated automatically by our Bunnings representative. Cons Some features are limited. For example, a "send all" button would be handy to send all purchase orders at once. Or a mass edit function to add or delete items from multiple templates in one go. Pros I like the easy of use, how it formulates letters. It looks professional when finished. The client portal is great , just need to put time into learning the system so you know how to use it. We are now using the time sheets also which lead straight into quotes. Cons It would be good to have an instant reply from a person, i do understand this is very hard. I recommend it to all our builder friends and I will continue to use it. Pros Value for money and ease of use. Great for tracking jobs and margins. Pros Buildxact makes it much easier to create accurate estimates without relying on multiple spreadsheets. The takeoff tools and cost tracking features help reduce manual effort and improve consistency across bids. It also allows me to generate professional quotes quickly, which helps in responding faster to clients. Cons It can feel restrictive when working on highly detailed or non standard estimates. Pros Being able to upload all types of plans and the ease of measuring up complex projects. Cons The Variation forms would be much better if you could list/add 'Actual Cost' items after the variation has been made up. It has streamlined and simplified our quoting and cost planning processes. Pros I find the estimating features to be easy to use and effective in generating accurate project estimates / quotations. Leading on to 'Job' stage the historical data and cost plan is essential for reviewing and maintaining project cost controls. The Variation portal is also very beneficial with submitting and tracking any changes as the project progresses Cons I dont find the Accounting Software integration to be beneficial as the communication between Xero and Build Xact is not 2-way. Keep it up Pros We loved the wide range of things we could do with this software. A one stop shop for our costing, scheduling and backcosting. Cons We would love a timeline longer than a month to be visable on the dashboard to see all our builds over say a year span. We would also love some more new zealand suppliers. I also struggle sometimes when recipes update wrong or not at all from the categlogue to the esitmate. I have been an estimator for over 20years and this system makes my job so much easier and faster. Pros The digital take-off is by far the best part of this software in my opinion. When linked to Recipes I can complete a full estimate far quicker then I ever have using other systems. Very easy to use and set up. Cons It woud be great if you could have a report while still in estimating stage of all Cost Centres with Recipes allocated, not being able to add more than one item at a time is a pain. Pros Once you start a lead it then follows all the way through to final invoice, its all streamlined. And the help/communication with the bots or experts is very quick, you can also set training meetings if you need a face to face chat. Cons We are starting to use the invoicing features more and have found some small annoyances, like changing the invoicing format. Another small issue is the app with a few bugs, but this is very new and changes/updtaes are consistently occurring. Reason for choosing Buildxact Sorry unsure, I was not with the company when they initially choose this program. Though they did choose to use Buildxact for its costings/invoicing areas because they had seen the growth in the program for that area. It is so easy to issue price requests, purchase orders, work orders and program my jobs/subbies and if i ever need to check that a task has been done i have the reassurance that the systems are in place to control all that communication.
