Using it Monday to Friday and there are some features I would suggest. 1. add Shell.dll codes. 2. xPath fluctuation should be removed

Pros

Tracking and Recording systems are really helpful

Cons

Repository items change xpath on its own in some systems. Shell32 code is not working.

Initially it was fascinating to find out what can be achieved with Ranorex. It seems as if everything a junior quality assurance enginner would need were already there. For anything that was not easy to find out how it worked, the support team was of great assistance. There were only few functionalities that I could find useful and were not in place, sometimes the support could help with working aroung them as well.

Pros

The vast and ever more expanding variety of features.

Cons

Not easily scalable for usage of single test engineer.

Pros

Writing Usercode for a functionality is pretty easy and even without the coding language, we can easy structure the code as we want. We can also do multiple validation parts even into the database and into the server.

Cons

As I have just started working on this tool, I didn't notice anything least about this tool.

We test regression tests in a very complex desktop application.

Pros

The good support is realy great. We have a very special desktop software with combined technologies (Qt, ATL and .net and a OpenGL graphic area) and the team is doing its best to get it running.

Cons

You cannot have diverent versions of Ranorex on the same machine.

Attention to detail - example, the functionality to delete unused Ranorex Repository which helps to keep things organized.

Cons

Not having alternative to Ranorex Path and image finding - functionality such as, finding texts on a web page. In some cases, Ranorex Path and Image Finding functionality is not enough.

Overall, I'm missing the sweet spot that I have heard others speak about. I'm still in the beginning phases but have had minor issues with standard recording, especially when administrative access is required.

Pros

The integrations and capabilities seem to be great. I've had colleagues use the point and click/recording feature previously and could only say great things.

Cons

Not Mac compatible so it has to be ran on a VM. The performance is slow while recording which makes the data entry a little difficult and requires the steps to be modified. I haven't found the best way to secure passwords, other than variables which are still readable by anyone with access.

Ranoex helped us to automate business critical application like JADE and lotus notes which is not supported by leading tools like UFT or IBM RFT

Pros

Ranorex supports application like lotus notes, Jade software which is not supported by any automation tool available in the market. It is feasible to automate any application using Raw text.

Cons

Ranorex is not thread safe and not supporting parallel execution in the same machine and in same browser like leanFT and Selenium.

Rock solid for web testing, lots of features and functional

Cons

Ranorex needs some help with mobile testing, especially Android. Connections are not stable, adb usb nearly useless. Wi-Fi connectivity problematic. Mobile; Very slow. Not productive

My overall experience was not that great. Automation has does not work well when resolution is not set as 100% and there are multiple screens and also Salesforce automation does not seem to work very well with Ranorex

Pros

It is very easy to automate using Ranorex. It does not require programming knowledge, and it identifies the DOM elements for you.

Cons

Salesforce automation does not seem to work very well with Ranorex. Automated test does not run correctly all the time.
