Pros I enjoy that their free version allows us to do simple monitoring of our various domains and quickly alerts us if an error has occurred. It also builds consumer confidence when users can quickly see our up-time. Cons There's nothing I don't like about the software other than it'd be nice if the up-time bade didn't have their branding on it. Review Source Rahul C. Works flawlessly. Pros Very easy to set up. A great UI as expected from a Freshdesk software. Their free plan is quite generous for most side-projects. Even now that we have more complex systems to monitor and alert when there are problems, Freshping helps having a 3rd party check from outside our company/IPs. Pros Easy to use. Free for our current needs. Cons It can take up to 10 minutes to receive the notification of web down in the free tier, 5 minutes to have the web test + extra time to receive the email alert. The support, features, and monitoring interval are all very important to know what happens in my app Pros Uptime monitoring, real-time monitoring, and the 1 minutes interval are really good to monitor your services more often Cons Least configuration on the status page, I hope I can change the style of the status page to show my clients or myself with a better style. What i love is the immediate ROI i've gotten out of my services, it has proven its worth for services that I am running across several regions and datacenters. It has been terrible that even large providers just hide their downtime and go off without informing customers. Pros I like that there are alot of country options to use in one single management console, the configurability is great too. Cons I wish there were options for 1/3/5/10/20/30 second monitoring for critical endpoints to be monitored. I also wish in US there is an ability to choose monitoring in different cities / states. Integrations were a hit and miss, zapier is available but i wish i could do telegram notification natively without the need to leverage on APIs. Review Source TE Tarek E. We use the e-mail notifications to integrate freshping and our status page system. When a problem occurs, our status page is immediately updated. Pros Easy to integrate with StatusPage systems. E-mail notifications help us to detect problems as soon as possible and keep our stakeholders aware of problems. Cons Low features on the free version. I think more resources could be available on the free version of Freshping, for example: check SSL certificate problems. Pros Start to finish, I was able to set up Freshping for our enterprise in less than an hour. The service integrates easily with Slack and Twilio for notifications. Cons I had some trouble with the Zapier integration, so I gave up. It either works too slowly, or was broken. In either case, the built-in integrations for Slack and Twilio turned out to be all I needed anyway. Having to spend more than the basic (paid) tier for an SSL-secured status page is a bummer—definitely won't cross that threshold just for that feature. Reason for choosing Freshping I chose Freshping because it was mentioned in a private Slack channel for the product and community known as Roots (roots.io). One team mentioned using Freshping to monitor their sites as a workaround for some hosting shenanigans. It integrates well with Freshstatus, which makes our lives a lot easier dealing with incidents. Pros Price! It's free for up to 50 checks...forever! You can get a great feel of the software before you start using it. Cons I have had some difficulties connecting to the product to the Freshworks portal, support are actively working on it. It was really easy to setup my account and implement it's monitoring with my website. Cons Nothing yet. Everything was just perfect. For a forever free plan, this site gives everything I need. The paid tier gets you a few more bells & whistles. It's reliable, and I like the alerts and Slack integration. Cons Not really a con, but the paid plans were needed as they didn't bring more value for my use case than the free plan. Some false positives are expected, but it seems that if a site changes DNS, the propagation of the domain can really cause the reports to bounce. Review Source CD Chris D. Going forward it will help us keep a closer eye on the issue and ensure the ISP keeps its new promises. Pros The initial price (free) is excellent, but it's the ease of use that really sets it apart. To solve a downtime issue - or to prove to an ISP there was a downtime issue I should say - we needed to monitor two sites for uptime at all times, and have a usable, credible record of downtime. Pros Freshping is easy to started with, it takes only secodns to setup and have an intuitive setup guide. Cons Small bugs with missing pictures on several icons.
