Pros: I like the robustness of the software and the ability for the free trial. Definitely helped when looking to choose which accounting software was going to be the best fit for me.

Cons: I did not find it very easy to navigate around. Seem a little clunky to me and could do with a better UI and UX but I also am not an accountant.

Pros: Xero is an awesome accounting app, whether you're a sole trader or a small business. Integrations with a number of payment processors makes getting paid easy and unlike a couple of other accounting apps, we found it pretty straight forward to handle both client consulting projects and keep track of all of our ecommerce and info product sales.

Cons: No real drawbacks so far. Had to brush up on some accounting basics to get the ledgers working the way we wanted to, but that was more our lack of knowledge than any shortfall in the product.

My experience has been great. Xero easily allows me to manage my company's books.

Pros: I like that I can do EVERYTHING from Xero -- run payroll, pay taxes, track income and expenses, run reports, etc.

Cons: Xero is occasionally "down" and I am without access. These occasions are infrequent, but seem to happen when I need access the most.

Overall: Xero saves me time and effort, as I don't need separate accounting and payroll software. It's easy to use and saves me time.

Pros: Able to easily work with my tax consultant to get a good idea of my cash flow both in and out with regards to my new e-commerce businesses, and work out my tax reports. Able to add any number of users. Plus the platform is easy to use and understand for everyone concerned, and it is all cloud-based and online.

Cons: I wish the paid plans would be made still slightly cheaper. Because for accounting software, at their core, the functions are simple. Most people do not really need many complicated features.

Overall: Allows multiple users on an easy-to-use online platform.

It was easy to setup for someone with bookeeping experience and it is very basic software.

Pros: It can sync with many 3rd party software apps. It has very beautiful invoice theme to look professional. It's easy to setup out of the box and just great for startup companies who doesn't use sales order feature or back order feature. Very simple to generate invoice and get paid via online.

Cons: The software doesn't have sales order feature which makes it pointless for companies that does do back order tracking. It's not meant for companies that sell many products. You will have to purchase or subscribe to 3rd party software that is much more intuitive.

Pros: I have used Xero for 3 years now. With a free trial and then a discounted first 6 months, Xero makes it easy to try out. Xero is web-based so for a small business owner who may need to access it from anywhere, this is the way to go. Xero can log in to your bank and make entering transactions and reconciling your bank statement a breeze. I highly recommend Xero for anyone who has a side-business or small business.

Cons: The reporting features on Xero leave something to be desired, but basic functionality is there. Also, the bank log in feature does not work with every bank, so check with your bank first. I actually switched banks to make it available.

Overall: It allows me to log in from anywhere and complete transactions or check my accounts.

Pros: Xero helps to manage my accounts efficiently, they have lots of features and helpful support staff. Highly recommended.

Cons: Slightly costly, however it makes up for this with lots of features and by saving me a lot of time with quick reconciling.

Pros: Online intelligence modern accounting software , a lot of integration, very good customer service. It's gold standard.

Cons: Global edition for Canada... It is a little bit expensive for Canada market. Bank feeds for Canadian banks some times not working.

Overall: Online accounting it's a future...

Easy when simple tasks are concerned but it gets complicated if something is not correctly synced.

Pros: The accountant asked me to start using Xero to integrate their services with mine, it has been very useful for bank reconciliations and reports. The possibility of accessing the information in the mobile app is great. In general very good program.

Cons: It is a bit difficult to handle and does not support other languages besides English, that makes everything a bit more difficult. Another detail that I find annoying is that the app for Android is not as good and could improve to be as complete as the iOS app

Overall: The option to receive payments is very useful and the integration with other programs speeds up the work and saves time. In addition, the information is transparent and verifiable easily and on any device.

Pros: Simple user interface and supports local payment methods like PayFast for South Africa and did not have to spend much time teaching people how to use it as it is dead easy, and the reporting is simple and straightforward

Cons: Not much stuff to customise. I ditched Zoho for Xero, it works but a lot of features that other accounting softwares have they do not have, like custom URL, limited custom fields, e.t.c

Plus most of the software that integrate with Xero to make it better cost a fortune for small businesses

Overall: Ease of use

Pros: Great cloud based service for accounting, uptime has never been an issue. Easy to interact from in terms of expense reporting. Software always up to date, no compatibility issues like with quick books.

Cons: I don't have anything bad to say about the software. It is competitively priced and does a good job plus has useful integrations like Bill.com.

Cons: There's not much I don't like about it. It works great for my needs and is fairly easy to use. You just need a basic understanding of accounting principles or else it might trip you up.

Pros: I love it, since I can carry out the inventory of my company without needing it to be very large, and Xero facilitates me and reduces the administrative time in a very efficient way

Cons:
The costs may increase if you use a lot of features. So you would start to discard tools if you do not have the budget

Pros: Much easier to use than Quickbooks but still provides powerful accounting and bookkeeping features. Also offers more integrations than Quickbooks, which tends to wall off their software for the most part to keep you in their ecosystem. Provides a good balance of invoicing, expense tracking and accounting capabilities.

Cons: For some reason they still lack recurring payments on invoices, which keeps me using Freshbooks for invoicing. While it's easy to use, if you have never used accounting software, there is still a learning curve involved.

Overall: Powerful accounting software but still relatively easy to use compared to other accounting software, They also have a large ecosystem of 3rd party integrations.

Pros: The best thing about this application is the easy way to use it and its set of features can help close vital accounting barriers

Cons: Some users believe that the multiple currency function of Xero could be stronger, which could affect companies that operate internationally.

Overall: You can manage invoices and payments through spending programs to see cash flow (one of our favorites), as well as create professional invoices and receive automatic updates when viewed.

Xero has been a wonderful system to manage our clients' books!

Pros: The software has been very easy to use and is visually appealing. I've been able to navigate within the system seamlessly.

Cons: Setting up new clients in the system is a little cumbersome. Could have been slightly simpler. Overall, not a bad process though.

Pros: Xero is Cloud based accounting software and it makes job so much easier. I can access anywhere and no need to worry about backup or losing data. And it does auto fill most of columns and sections if transactions are regular ones.

Cons: The only downside is the cost. We had to use multi-currency functions and it is only available on top tier subscription which is quite costly.

Overall: Easy of Use and Access from anywhere, no need to back up and can invite many users to participate.

Pros: I have been using Xero in my businesses for several years now and to be honest, I would be lost without it. Originally we used Sage Line 50, but a brave decision was taken to make the leap to a new cloud-based solution.

This decision resulted in better collaboration between team members, our bookkeeper and our accountant. It also allowed real-time reporting on the move whilst out of the office via the mobile App.

There is no hassle of backing up the data each and every day, if not twice a day either. Plus the fact the software is licensed and paid for on a monthly basis allowing the opportunity to change provider if you really wanted too. All software updates and future developments are included and support is inclusive too within the monthly fee.

Coupling Xero with other third-party providers is excellent too, I use receipt bank for processing receipts and invoices, which saves huge amounts of time. With integration using Zappier I can connect many other applications to my Xero accounts software, again saving time and making processes automated.

Cons: There aren't any negatives I can think of and to be honest, I haven't experienced any issues in the past 4+ years.

Finally accounting software that doesn't suck!

Pros: very easy to use, allows to create reports adapted to the needs, has a panel with very useful information that can be customized and best of all allows to work collaboratively with multiple users and different levels of access

Cons: it is very difficult to review and correct any problem with poorly registered operations because it blocks access to certain accounts that after a migration can have errors, many times it is necessary to eliminate many operations to correct a single error and does not allow us to make a backup

Xero has been a great tool as an accounts package and very easy to use.

Pros: Has a large range of features from reporting, payroll and expense claims procedures. The system can generate VAT returns easily and had a wide range of bank feeds. Both of these things are so good at cutting down time it takes to complete processing.

Cons: There are some instances where the costs can add up depending on what features you want. Using payroll, projects and many bank feeds can start to increase the monthly cost.

Comments: We've been using Xero for about two years now. There have been a few hiccups along the way but for the most part things have been ok. Recently however, we've had a problem with our bank feed uploading into Xero in order to reconcile transactions. We first encountered this issue on 2/10/18. We informed Xero and they said they would look into the issue. A couple of weeks went by without hearing anything about the feed working as it should. We contacted them again and they said they were still working on the issue but that we could manually download the transactions ourselves in the meantime. Today is 4/10/18 (2 months later) and they still have not fixed the issue. We are still having to manually download these transactions ourselves in order to reconcile our bank accounts within the Xero software. I spoke with Xero this morning and they still do not have a timeline for when this will be fixed. They said they use an outside company to perform the importing of bank feeds functions and that they are not responsible for it not working. They said when we signed up for the Xero service we were informed about the possibility of the feed possibly cutting out at some point in the fine print (terms & conditions). They refuse to issue any sort of refund for their monthly service during this time of inconvenience because they say the bank feed import function is a free service offered by a third party. The problem we have is that Xero is marketing this service as part of their overall monthly service package which you assume is really included in your monthly service fee you pay to them. When it doesn't work they take no accountability for it not working. We think it's very deceptive for them to market a service (bank import functionality) to prospective buyers, which you assume is included with your monthly service fee, but then take no responsibility for it not working when things breakdown. We believe they do this to gain a competitive advantage over other companies like Quickbooks. Instead of just charging for the bank import service which would increase their monthly service fee and make them less competitive on a price basis with their competition they artfully setup their service to be able to offer a more competitive price but not assume any of the responsibility when the service doesn't work as expected. The general consumer doesn't think to put this deceptive tactic together when they sign up for the service and Xero assumes once they have you onboard you'll deal with the issue until they can get it fixed because switching accounting software companies at a later date is extremely inconvenient.

Pros: The service accomplishes most of what it was intended to do albiet at a bit of a learning curve for the new user.

Cons: There is no customer service support number to call. Bank feeds do not work properly. IOS app is mising some functionaility

Pros: "Beautiful" if that matters for accounting. Marketing and graphics look nice. Basic financial reports possible.

Cons: No notes on invoices or PO's. No down payments or deposits. Horrible to use Docx format. Does not support anything the most basic differences in user roles or access. No changes in years.

Pros: When Quickbooks is ruining everything but you know you need some sort of accounting software, XERO is what you are looking for.

Cons: The pricing is setup differently and can be more expensive then the competition from the get go. There arent as many integrations either.

Runner up to Quickbooks, simple and effective for varying business sizes.

Pros: Great customer service when setting up and processing payroll. Competitive pricing compared to other accounting software. You can share access with others to collaborate for budgeting and control their level of access. Free 30 day trial! 24/7 support.

Cons: Slight learning curve. My state is included (Texas) However payroll is only available in 37 states.

Pros: The time I save by using Xero is really priceless. It helps me keep on top of all my financial requirements .

Cons: As per a lot of cloud based software Xero can be very slow to load sometimes which can be very frustrating

Pros: Xero provides a simple and quick setup. We we're coming from Quick books Online and had to convert some older bank statements to import into Xero. The entire process took around 2 weeks to migrate the data.

Cons: Xero has it's limits, as with any program. I wish the pricing was a little friendlier but you know... also, we use their API to automatically push data into the program creating estimates and invoices. Sometimes adding discounts creates discrepancies. Lastly, you can provide clients the ability to pay online by means of Stripe or PayPal but they only have the option to pay in full -it is not possible to receive a deposit without creating multiple invoices.

Pros: Xero has the capabilities to meet all the bookkeeping needs for businesses : detailing income ,expenses ,payroll (in some locations ) ,invoicing .The design is super smooth and Xero works great on mobile ,which makes it even more convenient

Cons: Customer Service has room for improvement. You should also probably look somewhere else for your inventory listing needs .

Pros: Lots of integration into apps & services I use everyday. Simple to setup links to Stripe, PayPal, etc. Intuitive reconciliation workflow.

Cons: BLUE! Everything is blue! It's depressing! Can be challenging to setup if you're not an accountant, could really do with a Wizard for small business owners that helps capture common scenarios eg: partnerships, SMSF, etc rather than relying on my accountant to pretty much make it up their way as we go along.

Comments: Easy enough to use, self taught. We had an accountant and he could not believe I was self taught and never used the product before.

Pros: Easy to use, good value, numerous reports you can run, integrates with other programs seamlessly. I like being able to cut checks straight from the program and the ease of reconciling my account.

Cons: I can not think of anything I do not like. It is very efficient and there are many things you can do in the program.

Pros: The best thing about Xero is that if ANY accounting software (for a small business) has a connected app it will be Xero. We were able to connect signature software to Xero. Also, you don't need to pay for expensify if you have Xero, as it already has that functionality.

Cons: Xero is aimed at Accountants and so for very small business owners (who don't have an accountant) it might not be ideal. If you fall in this bucket I'd recommend Hurdlr.

Pros: For bookkeeping, small and medium-sized businesses this software is a dream. It is the most intuitive and easiest to use of all the accounting software that we reviewed. As an accountant, it is easy to fix user errors and mis-postings. There is a proper audit trail and safety checks built in. There are so many time-saving features like find and recode, repeating bills/invoices/journals, bank rules. The move toward AI is exciting too.

Cons: The reports aren't GAP or IAS compliant so it is no good for reporting, final accounts production or tax. To get accountants interested and recommending Xero in the early days, they promised accountants that Final Accounts Production and Corporation Tax software was in their development queue but it never materialised and they burnt a lot of bridges with accountants when they announced that they had dropped FAP plans. This is why Quickbooks are getting such a big foothold and stealing market share from Xero.

The software is expensive for what it is and you can get a lot more and better for your money with FreeAgent and QuickBooks.

The biggest let down for Xero is that there is no telephone support, at all. Not even call back. You have to email and if you are on the opposite side of the world from New Zealand, it can take a full day to get an inital response and if there is any misunderstanding or info required, it can take days to get your problem resolved. This is really useless and a deal breaker for serious businesses.

Another major failing in Xero is the number of times that the Bank Feed just doesn't work. This is outwith Xero's control and so it can often take months to resolve. This is amateur and best and negligent at worst.

Overall: It is so easy to use but support has to come from Accountants who are not customer service or techies and who are not adequately compensated for their efforts. It is enjoyable to use and definitely does the basics very well.

Pros: Quick and easy to setup and migrate existing accounting system to. Simple integration of third party payment processors so that payments can be made directly from emailed invoice. Nice set of customizable reports. Quickly create repeatable invoices and send payment reminders. Integrate bank feeds directly from most banks to speed up bank reconciliation. Well supported product.

Cons: Sometimes bank feeds are problematic but this is mainly due to the bank. Not too much to complain about.

Pros: XERO is very easy to use , provides a nice and clear menu to help you select what you want, very fast search, edit, alarms, connectivity, history. It is a valuable tool, in every aspect.

Cons: I have not noticed a disadvantage until today and I have been using it for more than 2 yeaars now. I am not sure, however, about my backups. I suppose they keep backups!

Overall: Ease of use, clearly structured menu, cost efficiench.

Pros: The software is exceptionally easy to use and setup without necessarily having an accounting back ground. The fact that it integrates to so many third party applications is another factor that I really enjoyed.

Cons: I had some issues with integration to banking feeds due to digital signatures - but I think this is more a limitation with the bank that Xero.

Pros: I love the mobile app that allows me to send online invoices and also notifies me when they have been opened and viewed. I also like that I can have my bank transactions synced with the software.

Cons: I wish there was a level between the starter and standard plan that allowed for sending unlimited invoices.

Overall: Able to use the software on my phone and send invoices from it.

Pros: This accounting software is very easy to use, everything that you need click or to do have a reminder or noted to lessen the mistake if the user is not an account. The best of it they lock the old chart of account so the past entry would not change.

Cons: Since not everything were perfect this accounting software needs improvement such the management report since for the template is not good at all and when it comes to Manual Journal I keep on wondering why there is a lot of reversal. Anyways this software is not recommended for manufacturing.

Overall: it easy to use but I cannot use it with my big client.

Pros: Tracking makes seeing how every project/division is doing simple.
It learns as you go and you can make your own rules for how to handle things.
It just works for a small organisation but has the power to grow.

Cons: Half implemented solutions are released, customers are exposed to them before they are ready, Projects, New Expenses...
Not as slick as it should be in some areas.

Overall: Cost effective and powerful control of our finances with integrations galore.

Pros: I love that it integrates with Woocommerce and has an app that easily allows for uploading receipts and matching them to bank transactions. I have easily been able to add my banks, credit cards, and Pay Pal accounts to Xero.

Cons: There is a slight learning curve when trying to do more complex things. I also could really benefit from inventory management for products without the need for a SKU as I also use Google Shop and can't just make up SKUs for the products that don't have one. Moreover, it doesn't have automatically upload Amazon or Stripe transactions. It appears this can be obtained via a third party platform for an additional fee.

Happy that it integrates perfectly with Squarespace, but wish it functioned better than it does

Pros: We tried Xero because it is the default accounting program that integrates with a Squarespace site, which is what our online shop uses. However, for us, that seems to be about all it has going for it.

Cons: I gave Xero a good couple of tries, but found it lacking in functionality, ease of use, and when we did have trouble, the customer service wasn't that helpful. I felt like I had to contact them all the time just to get normal things done. In my opinion, it did not feel very intuitive.

Pros: Once set up this platform just works. Easy, simple and always there. Integrates with a lot of other apps.

Cons: The bank feeds can be finicky at times (fulling knowing that this is not really. Xero, but rather Yodlee,s issue); however, this makes it sometimes a bit cumbersome.

Comments: Would be great if the customer support responses were faster than 24 hours!

Pros: My accountant likes it and uses it to speed up the reconciling. I like how it connects with VEND and other apps.

Cons: Trying to get support is a hassle as it takes days to get anything resolved due to the slow responses. They don't read and understand what I'm saying as ask questions about things i've already given answer too.

Xero is great for cloud based accounting. We really push to get all of our clients into Xero.

Pros: Easy to create invoices, match transactions between Xero and your bank, and simple to view your daily balance. Invoices look professional with logo and custom business information, and you can email invoices to clients directly from Xero. You can also use their payroll portal, but we don't use that particular feature. Xero also connects with Stripe, our credit card processing company, and automatically handles the processing fees. We appreciated how easily it integrated with Stripe.

Cons: It's very easy to duplicate transactions, or to create invoices and bills within the wrong month. After doing so it's difficult to find the transactions and to delete them. I'm very savvy with software and spreadsheets and it definitely surprises me when my accountant contacts me to ask me about a transaction that appears to be a duplicate.

Overall: Great overall financial management for our small business. Easy to approve and share transactions, and to see a road map for our financial future before our accountant gives us monthly reports.

Pros: Xero is a nice way to keep track of your accounting. It can link to your bank account, which is handy. It will certainly make things easier when it comes to doing our taxes. It's also quite easy to use and you can store your contacts on there, to save time.

Cons: Some parts of how to use it hasn't been so intuitive for me, so it's taken some time to figure it out.

Overall: It makes it easier to keep track of my accounting and funds in and out. Much better than having to guess come tax time!

Wish we didn't switch off of this software!

Pros: Combined with A2X, I am able to import my Amazon sales data into Xero and categorize and reconcile all of my transactions. The Account Watchlist on the Dashboard keeps important accounts front and center to keep track of my monthly and YTD expenses and sales.

Cons: There was a learning curve and not everything was easy to figure out, but I didn't have a lot of experience with accounting software, so it may have been my lack of experience. I also wish there was a way to only import a particular credit card account rather than all cards on the one account. This may be a specific issue just for our organization but it would be helpful. The way it is set up now I need to manually delete all of the unrelated credit card charges.

At the moment of managing the resources of the company we always resort to Xero

Pros: Easy to use accounts system that connects with many other systems we use. makes transferring sales from our website automated cutting man hours down greatly. Great range of added apps like receipt bank again cutting hours for entering invoices from suppliers etc

Cons: Lacks forecasting features and ability to help non-accountant types like myself visualise the business accounts using graphs and statistics without adding further expense from additional apps.

Overall: Reduce time reviewing accounts with the accountant. Reduced mass of paperwork.

Pros: Relatively easy to use, and there are over 500+ integrations that make it work basically any way you want it to no matter what platform you're on.

Cons: The 2-step authentication was preventing me from getting in. what was worse, I needed access to do payroll, and customer service was NOT responding! Caused quite a bit of stress before I could get it straightened out. I realize that it could have been user error, but it wasn't the first time I'd had trouble logging in, and definitely not the first time I was dissapointed by customer service.

Comments: Received email and steel no access to my data ???? We currently have an issue processing your payment at our end, so we've temporarily reactivated your subscription to LKN so you can access your data. We'll get back to you when your payment has gone through, or if there are any problems.

Pros: no customer service , xero use debit card detail when card expire they lock your account and you have no acces at all to your accountant data. when you klick pay with new card detil .window pop up they will sorted you in 24h.

Cons: you pay every month and they block access to your data for months you already paid!!

Pros: Very good tracking of debtors and creditors, easy bank reconciliations, budgeting capability, easy to sort chart of accounts so that the profit and loss makes sense

Pros: Xero lets me manage a globally distributed company with globally distributed accounting software. My CFO and my accountants are 3 hours and 10 hours away from me on the planet. But, we are able to all seamlessly collaborate with Xero - huge plus. Also, the ability to generate invoices that can be paid with one click - priceless!

Cons: To be fair to Xero, I think that what I'm about to say applies to all accounting software - it has a bit of a learning report. Learning how to get the reports you need can take a little time, and sometimes it isn't intuitive. Luckily, they have a great support team that will walk you through it, and once you get it, it really isn't that bad.

Overall: It makes handling our accounting easy.

Pros: Before we moved onto Xero we were using MYOB - not their online product - and shifting to Xero has made bookeeping so much easier. We can reconcile our accounts daily, our accountant has access to it if we have any questions or problems and it's pretty intuitive to use. Invoicing is easy and it sends out reminders for unpaid invoices automatically. It took a little time to learn it and when we came across a difficulty a couple of times we did get good support from Xero to work it out.

Cons: Setting up wages was not easy especially if there aren't regular wages being paid each month and we had to get help from our accountant and Xero to negotiate this.

Pros: I love how easy it is to use. Everything is laid out very simply. I use Xero everyday and wouldn't want to change to anything else.

Pros: It's great for small business with nothing complex to do. For anything else, it's really not all that.

Cons: It lacks basic functionality like a proper trial balance. It also heavily overstates the functionality in multiple areas, such as multicurrency; not so useful if you can't even post a journal in anything other than your home currency. They like to pretend that they will take feedback on board, but in actual fact they just direct you to forums then ignore you... they've recently removed the dates from the forums so that you can't see how long the angry users have been waiting for basic feature requests. I'd avoid, especially if you are a start-up, as (hopefully) you'll soon outgrow it.

Pros: I love the cloud-based software and the way you are able to control who can see what and how. The reporting is just outstanding and enabled me to make some fantastic financial decisions looking from the past into the future.

Cons: When entering data into a box it goes off and searches a list that you have previously entered and this can take a little while to load up and then if you have a couple of near identical listings it can continue to select the wrong one. For example, having RD1 and RD10 in the payee list can cause problems.

Overall: Able to convert from paper-based reporting and have accountants, clients and data entry clerks all access xero with different security clearances makes tax compliance a breeze.

Cons: Invoice module has some shortcomings for businesses that require personalization. Multiple shipping addresses are not permitted. Some basic fields do not carry from the Quote to the Invoice.

Pros: I like using Xero because it's pretty straight forward to use, and saves all your receipts and info for future reference.

Cons: It's a pretty manual system as far as uploading documents and receipts go, a bit clunky but gets the job done (eventually).

This has revolutionized our bookkeeping and reduced our accounting fees.

Pros: I have no bookkeeping background and was able to easily learn how to use Xero. My business partner and I can login from anywhere in the world and get an up to date picture of our finances, pay invoices, review reports, check profitability and more. Our year end process is much faster and streamlined and we feel like we have much more control over our business. We have integrated data from our POS system (Touch Bistro) using the Shogo Integration tool and allows us to track sales by category alongside costs. We have also integrated Payment Evolution with Xero so we can run payroll and make EFT payments to suppliers directly. Invoices are closed out automatically and remittance notices provided saving time, money and keeping our suppliers happy.

Cons: Some of the reporting features don't show the information that I need - for example the sales tax report. I also find it frustrating that I can't integrate my online banking with Xero - we use a credit union so this might be the bank's issue. Some of the navigation is not great. For example the search feature can be a little fussy and when you complete an action you don't get returned to the page you left.

Overall: Save time, greater control over my business, fewer errors, save money, more visibility of overall financial health of business. Allows me to work remotely.

Pros: By far Xero was the easiest accounting software to get started with. Really clean user interface, and I found it incredibly easy to get up and running quickly. Complex things such as tax setup and payroll and are made so easy I was questioning whether I even needed an accountant. Pricing is more then fair, and they have a ton of features and add ons that made this a no brainer for me.

Overall: They are my accounting software for my small business. It allows me to manage my own finances without having to pay for a professional accountant.

Software written by software developers, seemingly with little input from end users.

Pros: Site loads quickly, the UI is clean but too minimalist. Their API integrates nicely with our other LoB software.

Cons: Everything seemingly requires two-three more clicks than it should. Their support is a joke, offering alternative outcomes which don't meet the requirements I give them. It feels as if they are a great software company but no good at actually understanding book keepers!

Pros: Great intuitive User Interface! I was able to create my Xero account , connect by business bank account, and invite my accountant in less than an hour. Great alternative for startups or small businesses that don't want to pay almost double per month for Quickbooks.

Cons: I wish this software had templates for different industries that would allow me to use a standard Chart of Accounts. Without a background in accounting, it can be difficult to correctly categorize certain expenses.

Overall: Easy-to-use all in one accounting software for managing my businesses. My accountant loves it!

Pros: It is easy to use for invoicing, paying bills and even expense claims. We can have many users and the access options we choose from for each are really well set-up. It is easy to link a bank account to the software and keeping track of the money that comes in and out through a reconciling process, which allows you to see every transaction, even those you haven't necessarily created a claim, invoice or receipt for (i.e. credit card transactions transfer from online registrations/sales). Receipting is also very quick and easy to do.

Cons: Certain functionalities are not necessarily logical (for example when submitting an expense claim with 2 pages worth of expenses, if you're not carefully selecting everything on the two pages, you will end up having to pay the expense in multiple transactions or cheques).

Overall: Paying bills is way faster with this software than when done by hand (the options available for printing company personalized cheques are very useful).

Pros: Xero is a compendium of all the useful tools to keep the accounts without problems. Its interface is light, easy to use and it becomes a pleasure to work with this software. In addition to having all your accounting in the cloud, having access to it wherever you want. It offers the advantage that the system remembers the mapping of fields and once it takes about two minutes maximum to synchronize the data. It will be that simple to have all your accounting and in a very efficient way.

Pros: - Easy to learn software!

- Great audit trail to see where users are editing
- Easy to edit mistakes and see where they came from
- Easy to set up and guides were very helpful

This software was such a great tool for our company. We use it across several businesses and share (varied) access with managers and accounting staff. Customize-able dashboard was great to see everything you needed upon opening the program. Great, in depth reporting to really audit and track anything that makes your company tick. I would highly recommend this software!

Cons: - The restricted access is not able to be customized enough. If I wanted a user to have access to certain areas, they had to gain access to multiple areas outside their scope. The audit feature was a great tool for teaching and seeing where I needed to train employees if they made errors

Pros: If you have only basic accounting needs, Xero is great. it has all the simple accounting needs and very easy to use.

Cons: Customer service is very bad. They rarely reply to tickets, and when they do, they never give a good answer. The community is the only way you can find solutions. Plus there are many bugs in the system that Xero staff do not want to admit. They do not improve the software though many people in the community ask for new features.

Pros: Ease of use is a real plus here, as is the customisations for my locality. It's also been super-easy to get other members of our staff to use the timesheets, and to even get our office administartor doing some of the book-keeping functions.

Cons: The support is good, but for some of the more curly questions you need to go to the Xero community. Lots of people there to help, but I would prefer a more authoritative voice.

Overall: Really helped us sort out our finances - made it easy and straight-forward.

Pros: We went with Xero because it integrated with our other financial apps
Quickbooks was our original accounting software, but we switched when we found Xero; it seemed to be more user friendly than Quickbooks

Cons: Our previous account software offered a much better native app product. Xero is convenient for the cloud-based service, but I (sometimes) miss the native app functionality of Quickbooks.

Overall: We opted for Xero after using another accounting software product for 18 months. We have not regretted that decision since!

Pros: The system is easy to use and has some very good integrations, it makes sharing your accounts with the bookkeeper and accountant very easy. The reporting feature is also very good.

Cons: It would be good if it was easier to download your information to make sure its backed up. I have also had a few small issues where my bookkeeper has done something a little differently and ended up with rounding error that has to be corrected manually.

Pros: The interface is the best part of Xero. It was intuitive from the first time you log in. As great add-ons. If you use Stripe as your gateway the set up is seamless.

Cons: When I first start using Xero, there was no telephone support. They have been working on this and now have a number for technical and customer service, but it is new and not great.

Pros: This software as a service has everything a business might need including full employee PAYE, expenses and purchase order integrations.

As a small business owner its very easy to align your bank and client accounts with xero. The functionality from just the mobile app is tremendous, let alone the full Web app experience.

Roles are important in xero, from employee expenses to external accountancy and consultancies, you can give everyone a suitable level of access.

Cons: There are a few issues around invoicing that you aren't able to control. For instance, if you have a bad paying client and need to automate incurred interest you'll need an add-on's service and these can add a great expense to the smaller business.

Overall: Complete accountancy services for a small business.

Cons: Scammy cancellation terms: When cancelling, you get charged a full month cancellation fee without having access for that month. According to support if I want to access my books to export I'll pay for another month + another cancellation. Save yourself & use Quickbooks form the start.

Comments: I would most definitely recommend Xero and do in general to everyone that asks what software we use.

Pros: Easy to use once you get the hang of it. I can use it anywhere, on my phone, tablet and computer. Integrates with our till software, giving real time information. Taking a photo/scanning an invoice to attach to the payment. Payroll is easy to use and keep updated.

Cons: Took me a few lessons to learn how to use it. I have no other negatives about Xero, our accountants recommended it to us and ey never fail to help if I get stuck.

Great tool, has some awesome features and some simple functionality.

Pros: Allowed us to manage our accounts to a certain extent and for our accountants to login and work with us. Logging expenses and receipts is easy once you get in to a routine of doing so.

Cons: Bank feeds seem tedious to set up. We work with hsbc and having a synced bank feed would make life much easier, however it seems a long winded process.

Comments: Easy to integrate! I use Infusionsoft for CRM and HelloSign for contracts. I enter the key fields in Infusionsoft which triggers an invoice in XERO (accounting) to be automatically sent and a contract from HelloSign to be filled in and sent. Within minutes I have a signed contract, received funds and everything is reconciled in Xero.

Pros: This software is so easy to use and the User Interface is attractive and intuitive. The mobile application makes spending, invoicing, billing and reconciling a breeze!

Cons: I really like this software, but it is a little hard to reconcile when you split up line items.

Pros: I love how the user interface has been designed so well and is so easy to use, even though I am not that proficient in accounting. Automated invoicing works a treat and sends out nice invoices and reminders.

Cons: The only thing that I would change about the product is the pricing. If it was a little cheaper, the package would be perfect.

I was getting ready to put my money where my mouth is and sign up to a full paying service, I'm glad I didn't the customer service is nonexistent at the trial run, how can a company this large not have a phone number for technical support!?!? It is near enough impossible to do any kind of trouble shooting via email especially when you get replies at 4am, then once you have replied it's another 24hrs until you get a reply. They said that they will be able to call me if I gave them a time and date the problem is once they get the reply to my email you have to wait another 24hrs for them to set it up, it's an absolute joke, how these guys are still in business offering this kind of technical support is beyond me. Waste of time stay away from Xero at all costs as it will cost you more money in the long run!

Comments: Solid alternative to any leading accounting software.

Pros: Xero overs over 500+ integrations that make any business owner's life easier, while allowing their business to run much more smoothly. The ease of use and learning curve are far superior to most of the competitors. If you are big on customer support, Xero will not disappoint.

Cons: While Xero does offer a mobile app, it could definitely use some work. Also, software updates seem to be few and far between.
