Our email newsletter engagement has gone way up since we started using Smore. It gives our organization a more professional and fun look.

Pros

I love how it makes our newsletters so much more engaging. It is super easy to build a newsletter that looks like I spent hours on, when really it took 30 minutes or less.

Cons

I wish it had a little more freedom to adjust the different looks. I also wish the design would show up in their email just as it looks, without having to click another link.

Pros

The formatting for newsletters and weekly staff emails is easy to duplicate. It takes time to learn how to create your template the first time. There is a great integration with Blackboard for mass messaging.

Cons

Customer service. There is no phone number to call. When I inquired about having someone from the company call me about a Teams account for my office staff, they stated they only communicate through email. I have received 15 promotional emails and not one of my five requests for a quote on a Teams account. It has been over two weeks.

Having to redo a newsletter a third time is ridiculous and bad enough I can't quite recommend Smore anymore. If they can improve on saving capabilities or provide a way for an undo or revision history similar to google docs I could highly recomend this tool. For now I'm beyond mad.

Pros

cute. I have used it for a year now and it has made my newsletters for my classroom better looking and easier for viewing on cellphones.

Cons

I am so frustrated that the saving sometimes works but sometimes not. After spending an hour on a newsletter it suddenly was gone. All of it except my heading. Spent an additional hour redoing. This time, the very misleading remove button attached to a photo deleted the entire newsletter not just the photo that the remove/X is attached to. This has happened to my entire team at some point. This MUST be fixed in future updates. I am still fuming from both of these instances. Can't get myself to go for it a third time.

Overall, I have been dissatisfied. Recent updates have made it so that I constantly have to verify usage if I switch between working at home and work. Also, the company has chosen to increase the amount. I feel that there are other services I can utilize that are not as expensive and I can use links within their program without having to pay a fee. Also, the fact that customer service was unwilling to work with me and gave me the same cookie-cutter answer, I will not use them in the future.

Pros

The program is user-friendly and you can create a newsletter with a link.

Cons

The customer service is not supportive. You are given the same answer from either the customer service person or the manager. When I was 2 days late canceling the service, I was told I could not cancel and the only option is to "gift" the service to someone. I was looking at moving from paying personally to having the company pay for the service; however, since encountering this situation, I have decided to look elsewhere and have notified my business office in regard to this.

Excellent. it is not just that I have enjoyed (and still enjoy) using the software, but it is also the feedback I get. Using Smore has been a change-maker indeed. i can recommend it highly

Pros

The ease with which I create my newsletters. The different templates offered, which is a feature that makes me work better and more efficiently (without wasting time)

Cons

I might want some more backaround images, but that is not critical

My overall experience has been great. I am having a fun time exploring new features. I feel like I am putting a personal touch on communicating with my students and parents. I feel very creative and I like the sense of community that having a class newsletter brings to virtual learning. You can see your analytics to track engagement. I am enjoying sending out updates in a way that is organized, creative and personal!

Pros

As a virtual teacher I sometimes feel like I am losing out on having a personal relationship with my learners and their parents. A newsletter is a fun way to share class updates with parents. Smore is pretty user friendly. I played around for a bit and was able to design a modern and colorful newsletter. A great way to keep remote students feeling connected! We publish their academic and personal accomplishments. I post their upcoming assignments here instead of just on the class bulletin page on our teaching platform that lacks any creativity. You don't need any artistic ability to use this program because they have ready-made templates available of that is what you prefer or designing them yourself. ( Although designing them can be fun)! There is a free trial. The actual paid plans include individual for someone like me who wants to reach their own individual students and families. If you have larger needs they have several plans that you can use on your own or even as a team. You can make as many newsletters as you choose to. I started out using pre-made templates and only just started designing on my own. It is entertaining to try different colors & fonts and play around with the editing features. Smore really values remote teachers and actually designs templates specifically for remote learning. it is refreshing to be acknowledged on the same level as brick and mortar teachers.

Cons

I have not found anything yet that I have disliked. Although I am a fairly new user, I have not encountered any issues. The cost may look intimidating when first looked at but users will find that at less than $80.00 yearly for the service, you are paying a minimal cost per month. Some schools actually give teachers a small personal stipend for class supplies or subscriptions. This would be an excellent place to funnel that extra cash because it is a great way to build a feeling of community between class parents, students and teachers!

Overall I have loved using SMORE and my customers have really enjoyed getting the newsletters from our school with such ease.

Pros

Possibly my favorite part about this program so far has been how easy it is to get started and start using. People that aren't very tech-savvy would have a really easy time navigating through this program. And it's really easy to design and make appealing.

Cons

I haven't really come across any big issues yet, although it would be great if there were more tutorials.

I use Smore to create monthly technology updates for my schools. I decided to upgrade my account and pay for the premium features in Smore. It is well worth the cost. I enjoy creating multimedia newsletters using Smore.

Pros

The ease of use with Smore makes my monthly newsletters amazing. This is one product that is worth the price. I love that the design process is simple and there are so many options for multimedia integration. The analytics give me clear picture of what people are most interested in when viewing my monthly newsletters.

Cons

Smore is the most expensive tool that I pay for out of pocket. However, it is worth the cost for the ease of use and brilliant newsletters.

I started using the free version of Smore while I was a kindergarten teacher and my parents loved it! As I transitioned into my new role, I decided to upgrade my account and have access to the premium features of Smore. I really enjoy creating in Smore!

Pros

As a K-12 Instructional Technologist, I create monthly newsletters that share technology tips and tricks. Smore has been my favorite format to use! I can easily include text, images, embed videos, hyperlinks, and it looks so professional. I love getting to see the stats too for how many views it has received.

Cons

Smore is the most expensive tool that I pay for out of pocket as an educator. It is worth the price! Formatting and sharing newsletters couldn't be easier.
