Owner Music Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "The perfect digital signage app for us!" June 6, 2024 5.0 The experience has been great all around. Easy to use and we didn't have to buy any new hardware to make it work in our case! The cost is very reasonable compared to many other digital signage systems. We initially were using our Apple TV's to just have them show a bunch of pics while they were in sleep mode in between our demos where we do use them to screen cast from our phones to the TV's to get a large display instead of our customers huddling around our phones. The Apple TV's didn't do a good job when showing pics in sleep mode on their own. We couldn't get all the sizing of images to fit correctly and/or they didn't display videos for us even though Apple says it would. Apple TV's never worked great for digital signage by themselves honestly. When we purchased Optisigns app for IOS, all the things that we had trouble with like videos playing and resizing of pics issues with the apple TV's just disappeared. It made it easy for us to get our content on the TV's and we don't even have to refresh our Apple TV's to get the new content to display. Bravo!!! The fact that we can schedule things was a bonus for us. With Optisigns, we didn't have to purchase any new equipment in our case (we already owned the apple TV's) and the fact that Optisigns supported these devices made it a cost effective great choice! We looked at several other digital signage options costing a lot more but we figured we give OptiSigns a try with their Free trial. It didn't take us long to figure it all out so, it truly is an easy to use system. The fact that we can do all this remotely not being in the store is fantastic! Very happy with Optisigns so far. Pros We already use Apple TV's connected to our TV's in the store. We use them to broadcast our phone or iPad screens to show our in store customers (during our demos) on how the apps work on a bigger screen than our phone for instance. Since we already owned these Apple TV devices, this was a no brainer as we didn't have to purchase anything except the OptiSigns app to make it work! Cons So far we have no complaints and are still surprised it works so well for us. It has given my team the ability to create engaging content to keep other employees in the loop on important information, but also recognize them for their hard work. I think OptiSigns has been easy to use and I appreciate having it in the toolkit. Pros I really enjoy using the product. The overall presentation is clean, looks sharp, and gives my team the ability to use their creative energy to create attention grabbing and engaging content. I am able to keep employees informed without putting out physical flyers. Moreover, I am able to keep all facilities updated at the same time. Pros OptiSigns is very user-friendly alongside an extensive array of features, ensuring seamless delivery of updated content. I am able to schedule posts that are time-sensitive so I can "set it and forget it" without missing anything. I like being able to post to multiple monitors at one time rather than having to post to each monitor individually. Cons I don't like that it automatically posts everything at 10 seconds. Pros Customization with content layouts and scheduling. OptiSigns has competitors at similar prices beat with layout customization. Sizing, position, scaling can all be customized, allowing for multiple content assets to be shown in a way that you want. Cons Some asset apps have bugs or quirks that may not load correctly at times. Usually, if these are part of a schedule, they will resolve themselves when they come around again. For example, tickers may not load as tickers and may show the fullsize content squashed into the ticker area, making it unreadable; but usually this resolves after a reload.PowerPoint has limited functionality. PowerPoint presentations with custom timings and animations require using the published presentation to use, a function that isn't available on all Enterprise Microsoft setups due to security concerns. Uploading PowerPoints to OptiSigns means the presentation is converted to a PDF and custom timings and animations aren't used at all, and slides all transition at the same speed. November 6, 2023 5.0 We used a different program for years, it was expensive and antiquated. There were hardly any templates and it would not communicate with our screen about 80% of the time. When it was time to find a new program, we switched to OptiSigns because of the amount of templates (for my employees that are not computer savvy), the cost and the sheer ease of using the program. It is and was a huge game-changer in our display screen. Pros We used a different digital sign program for many years, it was old and outdated. We moved to OptiSigns 2 years ago and it was the best decision we ever made. The templates are abundant, the ease of adding new signs is amazing. OptiSigns runs so smoothly and each of our assets looks so crisp and fresh that every visitors that comes in to our center comments on the screen of information. Cons I can honestly say, there is nothing I don't like about it. I guess if I had to find one small thing, it is maybe have a few more tourism related templates Reason for choosing OptiSigns We did not look at others because we knew we wanted to use OptiSigns. I had looked at their website, talked with the customer service and just knew it was the right fit for us. Pricing was honest and upfront, deployment was simple and we had 30 screens up and running in under a day. Support has been responsive. OptiSigns is a great company to partner with. Pros The first feature that attracted me to OptiSigns was the scheduling engine. My organization has some very specific scheduling needs and OptiSigns was the only provider that could meet our needs. We need three sets of content that could rotate on a bi-weekly basis for each content set. So we need to be able to schedule at least six weeks in advance, OptiSigns was the only product that could meet our needs. Cons I have yet to find any real flaw with OptiSigns. Perhaps once per year one of our displays may need to be reset and reconnected to the console. Honestly though, that could be a network issue or a client device issue. I can't honeslty say with certainity that OptiSigns is the true source of this once in a blue moon occurence. The truth is, You can hire a company like addwire.com to design your menus cheaper than paying thousands more a month, and I'm so glad that I went with Optisigns because it's great for Small businesses like mine to compete with these other giant companies, and it's easy to manage. Pros Optisigns was easy to setup. I bought my televisions from Sams, Plugged in the Media Players from Optisigns, and Powered right up and started running my playlists that I configured for it. Pros OptiSigns allows us to send content to multiple screens throughout our organization. We have six locations, some of which are separated by a 2-3 hours drive. With OptiSigns, we can push information to whichever branch we need, to whatever audience can view that screen. It's perfect for a multilocation organization that has several different audiences. November 14, 2023 5.0 I really can't say enough good things about this product. There will always be some limitations with software but this one has filled every need that we have and we are looking forward to learning more and creating more using OptiSigns. Pros I love the way OptiSigns brings all of the control to one dashboard. I can control all of the screens and all of the playlists with just a few clicks of the mouse. The setup is super simple and within minutes you have your first things being displayed on your screens. The interface is easy to learn and they provide help right on the internet. I can't say enough good things about this product. Cons I guess it really isn't a con but more of a temporary issue - there are some limitations to the apps available such as I am in need of a count-up app that I can set to only see the days. The product is easy to understand, and use, but the options and features that are available seem endless. So far my experience with Optisigns has been amazing, I have been amazed at what I have been able to create using Optisigns. You can create online menus, online signage loops, emergency notifications which can be controlled remotely to be displayed only in certain areas and on demand, the options and featured through Optisigns are numerous, but are exciting to test and see. I enjoy working with the Optisigns applications, and I marvel at my testing and at what I have so far been able to create. Thank you Optisigns for providing such a versatile product filled with so many options and features. Pros The Optisigns application did not limit me to a layout design, it allowed me to create a screen layout as needed to display the video content as requested by the corporate Director of Media and Communications. I was able to create multiple screen display on a single split screen which was split into many smaller display areas. I also use the scheduling feature to automatically schedule different screen contents based on the time of day. With the use of playlists I was able to further automate the content of the displays. I am always testing the Optisign application features to see what features are available, recently one test was to display a Birthday celebration message for our office manager, it was timed perfectly and on schedule, it consisted of a video and playlist, the office manager was quite happy with what was displayed when she walked into our main reception area. Support for the Optisigns product is amazing, if I encountered any issues, I would contact technical support and almost immediately receive a response from \[sensitive content hidden\] with a solution. Optisigns is an amazing product, it has so many options and features that it allows an admin to create and control signs and displays for any event, or business. One quick tip, if you are trying to accomplish something that seems impossible with Optisigns, contact Technical Support, more likely the Optisigns application will allow you to accomplish what you wish. I learned to think outside of the box with Optisigns. I highly recommend this product. Cons I so far have not encountered some feature, option, or situation with the Optisigns product application, this is why I keep testing and trying the various options available. There is so much to try and be amazed at. If and when I encounter something I will provide an update. Alternatives considered [NoviSign](https://www.capterra.com/p/128501/NoviSign-Digital-Signage/) Reason for choosing OptiSigns While testing the Novisign application under a trial license, I encountered security issues, I created and deleted screens and then was not allowed to recreate a screen. I contacted support and they were not able to resolve the issue, I was not able to create a new screen. Support was looking for a cause to the issue, but it was taking much too long. I uninstalled the Novisign application and install and tested the Optisigns application as a trial, I was quite surprised at how quickly I was able to get our Signage display up and running, and as I tested the additional options and features, I was more impressed at this product. When I checked the cost of subscription, it was quite inexpensive and easy to sell back to corporate. Switched from [Hypersign](https://www.capterra.com/p/152949/Hypersign/) Hypersign features and options were limited, the cost was expensive, and the support was not prompt at providing a response to an issue. What made us decide to switch to a new product was that the Chromebox on which Hypersign was installed, would receive a chrome update for a new release and features within Hypersign which were in use, no longer functioned correctly, because it was not supported within Hypersign which was now running on a newer release of chrome. I was infomed by the technical support team at Hypersign that I should consider upgrading the Chromebox being used. We switched to Optisigns and there no issues, and we have Optisigns running on the same Chromebox, now running the most current release of Chrome. With Hypersign, when a Chromebox update was received I would have to revert (restore) the older release of Chrome OS so that all features within Hypersign would function properly. December 4, 2023 5.0 Overall my experience with Optisigns has been a positive one. From the integration to the training I think it has been very successful. I want to utilize more in the day to day operations of Residence Life. I wish we had more screens to use it on but that is something we as an office would need to discuss. Pros Personally I like the customer service of OptiSigns the best. I am a hands on learner so I like to be guided through how to utilize new tech. The rep from Optisigns worked with my supervisor and I one on one to make sure we knew everything about the site and helped us navigate the features we were most interested in. He even sent us guides for everything we went over. I am also a fan of the ease of use when it comes to the page. Planning programming for the screen is easy and effective and integrating our social media was a breeze. Cons I struggle to think of an area of optisigns that I don't like. Prompt support, full feature set. Easy billing Pros For me, PowerBI integration was essential. OptiSigns integration not only make me feel secure using oauth API requests, it was the only one that was working as of recent changes from Microsoft. Cons I have submitted a couple of feature requests, but these are small things like allowing authentication for virtual screens. I haven't come across any roadblocks. We looked at another on-site vendor and it was going to be thousands of dollars in services and expensive hardware. We love being able to use very inexpensive hardware (Amazon Firestick 4K Max) and the cloud subscription model that allows us to pay a monthly fee per screen. Pros We were able to achieve the results we are looking to achieve. Cons We've not had success pushing 4K content. We are able to add it, but it displays in HD instead of 4K. We've opted for using a computer as a kiosk for occasions where we need to display 4K content. We use this to post a three week schedule for drivers, and that screen has a lot of detail. Pros From an administrative perspective tying this into single sign on so end users don't have another set of login information to remember, and we don't need to keep track of who has access to what when the user leaves the company, simply disable the Active directory account and the user account tied into SSO becomes disabled. Cons The permission provisioning from single sign on was a bit messy, but in the end, we got it figured out. The general layout could be clearer as to what resources you're working with. Pros \- Great cost: super cheap to deploy a single digital sign, great for small organizations - Great content management: able to set automatic "go live" and "expiry" dates for content, plus automatic deletion of old content. Huge time-saver. - Instead set-up: download Optisigns on Firestick, plug into TV... streaming within minutes. Cons \- One blip: was supposed to receive 10GB file storage. Found myself getting blocked from adding new stuff after only 1GB. Took a few emails and some insistence to get Optisigns IT to look into it and not ignore it to realize, 'Oh, yeah you've been accidentally limited to 1 instead of 10 GB. Fixed.' - "Designer" app is not bad-- you can add dynamic content together. (Same with 'Split screen'.) But they are a little hard to use / ugly-looking. Prefer to just use Canva for producing static videos with animations, content, &c. Reason for choosing OptiSigns Don't remember the specific other options, but Optisigns seemed geared toward low-cost, easy solutions for small businesses/public institutions like libraries, that didn't involve huge upfront and monthly costs to run. It does 90% of what we want and we have ways to work around the remaining 10% or so. As I said in the first paragraph, OptiSigns is a compelling overall value. Pros VALUE The value is what we appreciate most about OptiSigns. It does everyone we need, sometimes has fewer bells-and-whistles, but because of the relatively low cost and not minimum commitment it was compelling for us to use OptiSigns. Cons DISLIKE Although we like the schedule concept, we do not use it because it does not integrate well with the playlists, at least as we understand them. Ideally, we would have a schedule for each screen that could alternate between different playlists. Reason for choosing OptiSigns I think this is what we reviewed, but it may have been acquired by another company. Whichever system it was, it was much more advanced in terms of user roles and lots of features, but it was complicated to set up and use--and very expensive with a minimum commitment that was about 10x higher. March 14, 2024 4.0 For the most part I am very happy with the system. It is easy to use and even though we've had some problems with dynamic content not loading and having to reload content manually, it hasn't been something we haven't been able to work around. It is very reasonably priced for the options it gives us for displaying content. I would like the apps to actually work better and it would be nice to have some way to reach customer support more quickly, but again, for the price, this is a pretty robust system. Pros The setup and interface with the Optisigns application and online content management system is easy to use and fairly intuitive. The ability to manage and push content to a remote location from my design office is great. Cons Content apps are glitchy and don't work. I've tried linking dynamic content to our google drive using their supplied apps to display slide shows and google calendar schedules and it works so poorly I have all but given up on using dynamic content. I also setup framed content and some of the frames don't load, leaving a blank space on the screen. The other problem is that content will periodically fail to load from the network, so I have to physically drive to the location and fix it on the TV app, manually reloading the content. This is a real pain when I add new screens for the members that are time sensitive and they don't load, then I have to go to the location and reset the content manually. Review Source DJ Dante J. March 18, 2024 5.0 over all our company loves OptiSigns as a whole. and we hope to continue to use OptiSigns for a while. As a user there are a lot of features or changes that i would love to see that would personally make OptiSigns irreplaceable. Pros the price was a very big reason as to why we chose OptiSigns, one of the vendors we were using for just a small portion of our service marketing was double what we are paying for everything we do with OptiSign now. also love the amount that we can do with it too. Cons i think there is a bit of clunky-ness in a lot of different places in OptiSigns as far as opening diffrent parts, and multiple designs, as well as the lack of a "save as" feature. i tend to make a lot of designs with slight differences and could just make those changes and "save as" new name. instead of starting from scratch or making a design a template, and opening it every time just to make a minor change. When I contacted support, they added more storage to my account without increasing my monthly price. Pros The full lineup of features, but mainly the ability to manage content from anywhere. The AppleTV app is fantastic because it allows us to connect to our TVs easily. The user interface is very easy to use. Cons I have no complaints about using OptiSigns. There is nothing that I need it to do that it doesn't already do.
