I love it when a product seems to have thought of everything. There has been many times where I would say something like, "I wish it could..." and sure enough, there was an option already available. Pros The ability to run photo and video promos to our customers is huge. Being able to push new content from a remote location also saves us time. Scheduling and expiring content is another plus for us. Love that we can control this in a single visit to the platform. When we deploy a new Screen, we have it up and running in a mater of minutes. We also stopped buying dedicated digital signage and started using Smart TV's that had the player built in. In the past, we paid for expensive dedicated players that were complicated and difficult to deploy. The initial meeting with sales wasn't pushy, they were friendly, and they pointed me in the correct direction that worked best for my company, not for what they wanted to sell me. I love being able to create teams so they can manage their own content, the ease of pairing a TV and initial set up, to even being able to use them for meetings to hook up wirelessly. I also enjoy the branding tool, having my company's brand colors on hand is extremely useful. Cons Buying the devices pre-configured added additional issues with many of our locations. Many devices did not pair properly and customer support is hard to get a hold of as all emails are sent to a generic email. November 8, 2023 4.0 At our theater/live concert hall, we use for digital signage of upcoming events. This becomes an electronic promotional listing. OptiSigns gives us the ability to easily manage these assets and playlist. As an event passes, we can easily remove that graphic from all displays. Likewise, we can add graphics as an event is announce. For private events, we can change from the "upcoming shows" playlist to a playlist of assets specific to that event. Scheduling allows us to accomplish this in advance, and a mobile app allows management on spur of the moment. OptiSigns allows us to add/remove devices as needed. We use Amazon FireStick HDMI devices, as well as a few FireTV enabled monitors. No expensive hardware or networking is required. We have been quite happy with OptiSigns, and plan on continued use. Pros Cost effective with not a lot of expensive device and network infrastructure. Easy to change assets and playlist. Ability to loop video assets. Available app to manage devices. IOS & Android Easy to add/remove devices as needed, while maintaining one user interface. Cons Could us a little better flexibility for account/billing. Sometimes we might need to add a single device to our account for a single event, without paying for an extended plan for that additional device. Maybe, a daily or weekly plan for additional devices beyond the first device. Also would be great to have the ability to assign multiple devices to the same screen. I would like to have a number of display devices all be the same. As things currently work, I have to make changes to each screen. I wish that I could assign screens as duplicates, so I only have to do it once. The template selection is extensive and the integration with Canva made it easy to use some of my existing designs as templates in OptiSigns. Setting up Amazon Firestick with OptiSigns was quick and easy. I had a digital sign displayed on-screen in no time! Cons designer is not fully compatible with my iPad. This loses the convenience of checking a screen on site and pushing a quick update using my iPad. Using a Windows browser, the software works fine. I find that I have a lot of browser tabs open, for designing, playlists, assets, basically for each feature, jumping back and forth among them. Cons The design UI feels a bit "all over the place" The left side bar menu is unnecessary as it could have been easily designed as a dropdown menu that doesnt shift the screen around or remain open by default. Top bar menu options change the top bar to new selections, its a bit disorienting to find your way back to the main selections by 'x' out of the choices. Having the top bar choices remain static could speed up build work. There is plenty of room on the right of the top menu bar to have the sub menus open without navigating away from the main. During our trial, we tested several pieces of equipment. They were always responsive and positive with all the different configurations we tried. With the other companies we researched, we were immediately bombarded with sales pitches. As a non-profit, we are on a tight budget. The Optisigns app with the three zones feature does everything we needed it to do and more. Our displays look amazing. It's so nice to have something other than just a slide-show. We're able to incorporate slide-shows, critical information, and a weather-scroll. We love it! Pros The software can be used via FireStick App, Web-based, or computer app-based. The price for our application was also a great reason. The top-shelf customer service was what made us stick with them through our trial and ultimately pay for the service. Also, during the trial, we were able to take advantage of the full software features. Cons The software is great but there is a slight learning curve to know the lingo and assigning what needs to go where. After that, it's smooth sailing. Everyone I have worked with has been very nice and easy to deal with. They answer my question very promptly. Pros The ease of use is still important. But how easy it is to deploy new screens makes this really great. We can produce and show content very rapidly with this solution. Cons The Scheduling is still one issue. When you are running the playlist and then put a scheduled event in to show a different playlist after you get done it just goes blank unless you put in the default playlist as a schedule again until you can come in and delete the other schedule. The second issue is with the pro players. I had one it said it needed to do a software update, so we told it to go ahead and it bricked the device. Optisign sent me a new one. Same thing happened and it needed an OS update, told it to proceed and it bricked this pro player also.
