May 31, 2023 5.0 Pros I initially signed up for a free trial with OptiSigns, and I've been blown away by the ease of using this product. I admit I haven't been able to go through OptiSigns's customer education materials (yet!), but the OptiSigns portal/asset management system has been quite simple and easy to use. The one particular aspect I love most about OptiSigns is the granular-level of customization options available. I'm able to tweak certain options related to the screen I'm using (i.e., tags, orientation, playback control, etc.) and even for critical apps like Instagram (the Instagram integration is wonderful!). Because of these features and many more, we're absolutely moving forward with upgrading our plan to an annual paid plan! Cons At first, it wasn't clear which specific hardware options would work best for presenting our digital content. Our content is being broadcasted on a Samsung smart TV in a waiting room, and we initially tried to use the Samsung/Tizen OptiSigns app that can be downloaded directly onto the TV and the app, unfortunately, does not work well at all. However, I purchased a Fire TV stick, downloaded the OptiSigns app on this device, plugged it into the TV, and it now works very well. OptiSigns does recommend specific hardware, but given that we were in a free trial, I wanted to test the functionality as quickly as possible with hardware that we were able to secure. Haven't had any issues since moving over which has been phenomenal 10/10. Pros The content scheduling and how easy it was to manage content using the web platform. Not to mention how seamless it was integrate our digital screens to OptiSigns. Cons In honestly am just blown away at how good the product is so I'm unable to provide an answer for this. We hadn't used something like this before, and it was easy to get started. Pros We've been able to streamline the way that we get information across to employees by having three TV screens with announcements in our company break rooms. I like that the signs are synced up, that they're so easy to customize, and that there are lots of options for things to put on them. Cons I don't have a lot of negatives. I usually make my own templates because I like them better and they're easier to keep on-brand, but that's not a huge drawback. Pros I was looking for a message center and calendar that would display on a screen in our mudroom. I needed it to link to our family google calendar. I found OptiSigns and it not only displays the google calendar, it allows me to schedule announcements, display weather, and put it into a blank sleep mode. This is really much more than I was expecting and it really helps to communicate to family members who don't have cell phones. I think I have finally conquered creating content. Pros OptiSigns has premade templates that make things easy if you want to use them. If not, they certainly are inspirational. There is a lot of flexibility in making the display look and feel like you want it to. I was able to integrate not only images but also video into my content. Cons Setup for my LG was tough. Support was via email and we went back and forth a lot. They sent lots of links, and I did my absolute best to describe what was happening, but they never solved the issue. Tailoring their experience is very important to us. Also the Power BI integration was a must have. Cons The security system is a little confusing and it took me a while to figure it out (though most systems are just as bad or worse). The power BI connector won't let me pass smart links, so I need to add new reports when I want to make something specific to display. It's user-friendly, works well across platforms, and is really easy to manage with multiple users. My only gripe (and it's a small one) is the price. I have no context as to what these services typically cost, so this may be super affordable depending on your organization's budget. Overall I am very pleased. Pros I really like the ability to update signage from anywhere using the mobile app, and it's compatibility with different devices and operating systems. This made it very easy to work with. And up until today, I still have no regrets about choosing OptiSigns. Pros The ease of adding new assets is very convenient. This enables you to quickly create a beautiful narrowcasting that can ensure that the people who see it have the right data visible. Additionally, installing the software package is really super easy; you don't need higher mathematics for this. Cons What I find unfortunate about OptiSigns is that there are so many possibilities that sometimes you completely lose track of what you can do. Pros There are lots of online instructions found. We were able to test drive it all online. Then getting the player and the software app setup was easy and was completed in a matter of days from start to end. Cons We had a small learning curve with how to activate the device via amazon, load our 1st app store item from Amazon and then pair the fire stick player to our OptiSigns account.
