Even though email outreach isn't our primary area, we were very quickly able to get to grips with it thanks to the simpe interface. All in all, it's a very simple but effective outreach tool Pros I just love how simplistic the interface is. It's definitely ahead of its time in that aspect. It make sit very easy to quickly set up and track email campaigns. Cons I found its features a bit lacking considering the price. I think it would be better if there were supplementary features added to make the email campaigns work more effectively. Cons It’s difficult to manage contacts across different campaigns (eg automatically add contacts to another campaign if they do X in a different campaign). May 3, 2024 1.0 I would not recommend them to anyone. Especially for how many great companies are out there that do what they already do. Pros I used Lemlist for several years and I liked it. Their email editor was easy to use, and apart from little annoyances, I was a happy user. Cons Their customer support is incredibly friendly and utterly incompetent. Their support is not technical and only relays what their technical people tell them, so you can never get a straight answer on anything. I could point them to specific problems and I would be told vague answers and never get a resolution. I finally had to give up on several key problems and just move to a new provider. The final straw was they removed support for a type of email connection (SMTP) they had supported. They did this without warning and in a way that broke their UX so that I couldn't create any new campaigns or update login/password info for those connection methods. They refused to grandfather me in, which is their right, but they also didn't refund me for the massive pain they caused our operations team. I politely reached out to their \[sensitive content hidden\] to chat with them and never heard back anything. Given how often they invited users to contact them, I was a bit surprised. Creative Director Media Production Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Not fairly priced, yet the backbone is old technology (agency user with 10+ seats)" June 20, 2022 2.0 Due to how often they continually update the platform--and you would expect this to actually be a good thing but it's not--the UI will change and functionality you began to rely on working fast suddenly slows down considerably. They update their platform multiple times a week on the backend. It's like, just build it right the first time and let. it. be. It's not even adding new features it's just busy work. If you run more than 2 email addresses, you're an agency or you have 3 or more users, I suggest using a different platform, you'll get better functionality out of something like woodpecker.co or market.to then Lemlist and for a much more reasonable price. They don't even offer a discount on their $60/seat rate until you have had at least 20 seats. Pros I liked that it was fairly quick to actually queue new campaigns on lemlist. I could duplicate a campaign, keep the settings and then just put in the sender and associate a list to it. As an agency using it, I found that was effective, though actually getting the settings I'd put in to take often required a lot of server lag. Cons This was fixed but it took about 4 months to do it: how LONG it takes list changes to go into affect. If you for instance had 1k contacts you wanted to remove from a campaign, it would take 20-30 minutes for those to be removed. How poorly they integrated with HubSpot and Salesforce. Sure there was some integration but it required I learn ALOT about the platform to make it work as an agency. I had to make changes on HubSpot to tailor it to work with Lemlist and there is absolutely no automation interaction unless you use a third party software and even then Lemlist doesn't offer many triggers on zapier. Lemlist will throttle you into the ground as an agency if one of your domains has low deliverability the algorithm will stop them all I started sending 150-200 emails per day from each seat and before long it became 50 at most. Their pricing model is pretty insane really. Comparable software goes for half the price of Lemlist with better features and cross platform multi-channel integration. Support wasn't very helpful and very pushy for positive reviews of their support. I often was told whatever issue I had wasn't their responsibility to resolve or wasn't understood so my support requests would get escalated to their dev team who responded 3-4 business days later through the tech, not directly and the answer only rarely was actually salient to my issue so another message would have to be sent by me to clarify which took another 3-4 days. I love how you can still use lemwarm even after warming up a campaign to keep your inbox engaged and healthy. The statistics for lemwarm and many others make it very easy to keep your inbox happy and healthy. The dynamic images and pages definitely help break the normal boring messages that most of us have all received at some point. It creates a very personal touch even if it is automated. They amount of templates available straight out of the box, definitely helps someone get started. Pros The ease and flow of the UI/UX is absolutely beautiful. Very Dynamic software and very creative with dynamic images and Landing Pages. One of the biggest things that brought me to the platform from using a different service is "Lemwarm" and the ability to automatically warm up your inbox before getting ready to launch a campaign. So many amazing features. There was definitely thought and intention with the entire platform to embody everything needed to launch a "cold" email campaign that doesn't feel so cold. Cons Downsides? What downsides? ;) i definitely haven't found anything about the platform or Lemlist, that I don't love! December 12, 2022 5.0 Lemlist is an easy solution to integrate my CRM with my email list while personalizing my campaigns. My CRM automatically gets filled with new leads, I write a personalized icebreaker message and the rest is done by Lemlist automatically. Pros Lemlist was very easy to set up. I got my first campaign running within minutes. It supports my own server (using IMAP) and doesn't require a specific service. Also, the features it provides are really good for doing personalized campaigns - for example, I love being able to personalize the pictures I send to my subscribers. Also, the icebreaker feature has got me several important clients.I needed to contact the support once, but not for a bug but for something I didn't understand at first. Not only did they help me solve all of my problems, they also taught me how to order a beer in French!Awesome product by an awesome team! Cons Lemlist isn't the biggest company and sometimes it shows, their documentation isn't always up to date or lacks minor details. Easy to personalise email messages and create follow ups to generate leads. Thery're continuously improving the platform and it's now easy to message linkedin contacts within each campaign. Data can imported directly from Linkedin or other sources and have features to ensure email addresses don't bounce. Cons After an import, reviewing contacts can be time consuming especially in multi touch campaigns. I've tried 4-5 email platforms before, such as quickmail and others. And... they all do the same thing. But before actually starting to use lemlist, I didn't realize how much of a difference there can be in "how" they do it. This is a short list of lemlist's pros: - Amazing support. They're lightning fast, human, and actually helpful. - Amazing stuff within the app that you wouldn't have thought of, like built-in "idiot proof" features that make stuff automatically without you worrying about it. - The whole experience is FLUID. It's fun. Nothing is clunky about lemlist, as it was in every other app I've used. - Personalization options are good. - It's got top-of-the market capabilities, but is priced very reasonably, below many alternatives Cons None, really, that I have come across. Pros Lemlist is a great email software package that keeps on getting better, quickly! They have a Facebook group that they are very responsive in and when they see a good idea, they implement quickly. The head representative shows that he really cares for his customers and aims to build a top notch product. Their articles on how to get the best out of their software are very thorough. Cons I got a great deal on the software early on from a deal they had when acquiring a user base on Appsumo. That being said, the ROI one can achieve by following the software can far outshine what one would ever pay. That being said, they now have an upgrade to video that I would love to get my mits on, but alas I'm being cheap and refuse to pay the upgrade cost right now as I have software that duplicates that functionality... It's an excellent tool that just keeps getting better and better. Pros Lemlist is a super product. It lets people create customized emails and send to their lists. It is outbound marketing at its finest. It has a great user interface and the "killer app" part is the images that are customizable for my clients. It changes the game as far as open rates and click rates! Owner Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Poor customer service, UI clunky and unintuitive " April 27, 2021 3.0 Coming from a small business, lemlist was good for initially warming up my email domain, however, I would not recommend them due to an overall clunky UI and just very poor customer service. The fee for their basic version is now $49/person, not $29. Poor customer service - However, I've had several experiences with the customer service that were not ideal. The support reps I messaged took several hours to respond to me (10+ for some responses) and were never able to resolve issues, they only confirmed to me that they do have them. I decreased the number of subscriptions from my team and they refused to refund me for the unused subscription, which was a huge red flag to me. Email tracking - Their email tracking is inaccurate and counts your own clicks as an "open." Editing emails - There is no way to review your drafted emails after you queue them, even if you want to go back in to make an edit, nor can you even look at the email after queuing it. Poor UI - A lot of the features are clunky and have to be figured out on your own. I had to make a separate email address to experiment and figure out how the sending works, and I've had experiences where I fill in a variable field for a template and the sent email never fills in the blank space. If you're trying to scale email marketing from zero, start with their lemwarm for a few weeks and you'll be ready to go. Pros lemlist is great for emailing. If you're trying to connect and speak with an audience who might know about your brand - this is one of the best options. Lemwarm also is one of the best tools to start with a new email address and be able to reach people's top inbox with personalized campaigns. Cons Sometimes support turnaround can take a few hours, but usually they are giving all the answers and suggestions on how to fix your problem. Custom subject lines, body copy, and (most unique/important feature) custom images for each email make for very high response rates. I usually get next to zero response with cold emails, but I easily see 30%+ response rates with lemlist campaigns. Pros lemlist makes it easy to send customized emails that get more opens and responses than traditional email. Cons Im not a huge fan of how some of the features were moved around and redesigned, but it's a small complaint and overall the software is extremely solid.
