### "McGraw-Hill Review"

February 10, 2022

5.0

Overall, different curricula is accessible through McGraw-Hill and allows teacher to access all the manipulatives that come with it.

Pros

I appreciate that on the McGraw Hill app, teachers are able to see all the different curricula on the website or app.

Cons

I wish that the curricula were scripted more. This would be beneficial for teachers that are beginning their career or implementing a new curriculum.

### "Expensive and Keeping Students from paying bills"

January 30, 2024

1.0

I hate McGraw-Hill. They are greedy, and their site needs some major updates. Would not use it for your school.

Pros

Nothing. Why does higher ed book producers feel the need to capitalize on others? Because they don't care about those using their materials.

Cons

Everything. It is outragously expensive and you only get the product for a year at a time. After the year runs out you have to repurchase.

### "Good Textbook for Survey Course"

November 30, 2023

4.0

Good experience overall. Customer service very helpful when needed.

Pros

Its a textbook, so it will only serve so many purposes in the modern classroom. The map resources are really helpful and the lesson topics are diverse and interesting. Assessments and projects lack depth, but a strong teacher should be able to implement textbook where necessary.

Cons

As noted, project ideas and assessments are weak. There are some decent ideas for project based learning, but the educator will have to modify for specific needs. Good

### "McGraw-Hill Connect makes keeping track of homework and learning for my college courses a breeze!"

February 10, 2022

5.0

I have loved using McGraw-Hill Connect as a college student, and always appreciate when my professors make use of this intuitive, seamless platform!

Pros

What I personally enjoy about using McGraw-Hill Connect as a college student is the platform's ability to put all of my key components for a course all in one place, allowing me to access eBooks, homework, assignments, and other items with ease. The sleek and simple design is extremely easy to navigate and ensures I do not waste time trying to pull together all my supplies for a certain course.

Cons

What I like least about McGraw-Hill Connect is the platform's inability to allow students to easily and intuitively connect with one another.

### "Great Product"

December 10, 2022

5.0

Overall I recommend this product to anyone else in higher education. Its definitely a staple in higher education.

Pros

As someone who uses this software throughout the week religiously I can say that I've never had any complains. You know you've worked in higher education for too long when just by looking at the logo brings back memories of late nights and coffee.

Cons

The price of this product continues to rise, but would still recommend to anyone considering using it.

### "A Great Learning Resource!"

October 27, 2019

5.0

I usage both McGraw Hill's textbooks and e-learning materials in teaching Developmental English. McGraw Hill's books are an invaluable resource that is a staple in my learning tools.

Pros

I like the ease of usage, instructional practices, and the overall comprehension that McGraw Hill's textbooks and e-learning books benefit both students as well as instructors.

Cons

The results I receive from my students are clear indicators that this software works as their test results reflect such. Therefore, I cannot find any negatives to associate with usage of this product.

### "The New Way of Learning"

January 25, 2020

5.0

Overall, this product is a great learning tool. It is also more affordable if you do the E-book option with the assignments instead of buying the college textbook and the assignments. You can highlight and take notes on the E-book too. I don't like carry a bunch of heavy books so I always preferred the E-books. The learning tools are great to build your knowledge on the material.

Pros

When I first started college years ago before I took time off I really struggled with school and learning. During my last few years of college teaching and learning had changed. My college started implementing Connect with various classes like Accounting, Statistics, Math, Business classes. I am sure there are others but I was in the Business program. With connect you can have homework assignments, online E-book, quizzes, tests to be completed on there. They have study materials like flashcards and practice problems to build your skills. My grades improved tremendously with this supplemental instruction.

Cons

The only cons for me was navigating the site. It can be tricky at first but once you utilize the program enough then you get the hang of it. Also the reading assignment sometimes froze on me, but that could be because I was at school using their WiFi and that can be spotty depending on how many students are on it at the same time.

### "Frustrating experience"

December 17, 2022

2.0

The experience has been frustrating. McGraw hill's UI and UX is much to be desired. It has led to unnecessary prolonged study sessions and a test of patience for a student that is trying hard to understand the material. I am a student that would like to not have to understand the education platform as well.

Pros

McGraw-Hill is aspiring to create an online ecosystem in which a student (such as myself) can learn on a PC/Phone/tablet. That is really cool, and I'm glad I can take my homework with me on my phone, makes it easy to connect and get to work.

Cons

The overall feel and experience of using McGraw Hill connects platform is akin to a prison yard. The online book will not let me copy text or use external reading functionality. This prevents me from googling difficult topics or taking notes for my exam with ease. The smartlearn platform is nit picky and incorrect in it's time assessments. An assignment that should take an hour ends up taking 4 because of repeat questions and a failure to move forward. The book we are using has yielded multiple mistakes which makes me (the user) second guess if I have the correct answer or if the book is wrong. I think McGraw Hill is trying hard to keep it's users from propagating the educational material it hosts, which I understand. But I would like to say it does it at the expense of a grad students sanity and patience. Please focus on the UX and UI, because right now it is unenjoyable.

### "A Greedy Business"

February 8, 2023

1.0

Garbage. I don't see any reason this software could not be directly provided by my university unless McGraw-Hill is refusing to do a bundle deal for the college. This forces us to buy individual packages which I'm sure doesn't hurt their bottom line.

Pros

It'd be great if it wasn't additionally price gouging student who are already paying thousands for an education.

Cons

The fact that I'm already buying textbooks, materials, and paying for classes, why is my university providing this?

### "McGraw-Hill"

September 3, 2019

5.0

Overall, it was good and I would recommend it to others.

Pros

I liked how there were many electronic copy resources online. Being a special education teacher, we don't always get access to the general ed curriculum but are still expected to assist students with the general education materials. This allows us to have access to the curriculum.

Cons

It takes a lot of time to figure out how to use/access materials. There are a lot of resources and it would be easier if it were organized differently. I had a difficult time finding the interventions in the beginning.

### "High-Quality Products with Disappointing Tech & Customer Service"

June 15, 2021

4.0

We love the physical product we have purchased for science, socials studies, and reading through McGraw Hill. The sales representatives are always positive and helpful. But once you purchase these products, getting the online portion(s) to work and show the correct number of seats is usually a headache.

Pros

It allows teachers to access their instructional resources online and allows students to receive online instruction aligned with our McGraw Hill products.

Cons

Initially setting up online access to McGraw Hill products is always somewhat problematic. For instance, you may purchase "x" amount of student and teacher seats to access a particular program, but then those seats won't show up online until you create a ticket with McGraw Hill support and they fix it. Last school year, it took 7 calls, hours on hold with McGraw Hill, and 2 months for one of our 5th-grade teachers to access their Wonders Reading curriculum online.

### "McGraw-Hill Review"

March 5, 2019

4.0

Pros

I like that this software has ease of use and functionality. The students know what to expect when they use it. The software allows for students to practice topics that are struggling in or get extra practice in what the topic they like learning about. It connects to what the students are being taught and giving them extra help.

Cons

Sometimes the information or passages to be read are not the best. They may contain harder words that should not be there or the topic is not the best for students to learn about.

### "Used for a biology class, generally good results"

July 24, 2019

5.0

Pros

I used this software for a biology class and it was connected to the textbook that I was using. I really liked that because then it made sure that what I was reading was directly helping me apply the concepts to the homework assignments. It was also easy to navigate and didn't crash at all, which was a relief because academic work can have so much pressure, despite the unforgiving technological difficulties. There were also tools to help you figure out where you could find some certain information in the text, hints, etc, and by giving me more than one attempt as well as the resources I needed to get the question right, I had much higher rates of success and of retaining the information.

Cons

I felt like at times the voiceover in the beginning could be very redundant and unhelpful (borderline annoying) because the software is so self-explanatory.

### "McGraw-Hill Connect has been a great addition to our school's online program"

December 6, 2022

5.0

I have had a fantastic experience with the program and have been using it for several years.

Pros

The program has been an awesome addition to our online courses. We use Blackboard to organize our courses and McGraw-Hill Connect has allowed us to manage several of our course's tests, assignments, and discussions much more efficiently and then integrate the grades very easily back into the blackboard program seamlessly.

Cons

I have not had any issues with the program to date.

### "Bringing homework to the internet, McGraw-Hill Connect is a viable option for educators and students"

November 9, 2019

4.0

I am currently taking an online-based class to improve my skills. Connect allows me to complete homework assignments to further my education and ensure I have a good grasp of the material.

Pros

McGraw-Hill Connect allows educators and students to digitally assign and complete homework. Connect provides a variety of testing and work options, from timed, password protected quizzes to textbook readings and questions. Educators have the ability to choose options that fit their needs - should the students have access to the book to make a quiz open-book? Should they have the ability to check the correctness of their work (once? unlimited times?)? McGraw-Hill has designed problem sets that complement their textbooks. This means students are able to do homework directly related to the material they are learning. If desired, Connect has hint videos that walk students through the steps necessary to complete a problem.

Cons

The solutions provided by Connect are not overly helpful. At times, the hint videos or solutions will provide a way to solve a problem that is different than the method taught in the textbook. Connect could use some work on consistency in this area.

### "Another online homework engine"

January 24, 2020

3.0

I understand the draw of online homework because it provides a common way for educators to assign problems and simplify grading. I have used it for a few different courses over the years but, as a college student, remain frustrated with the data entry. After using multiple similar softwares, it seems about middle of the pack -- I remain neither impressed nor overly disappointed.

Pros

My favorite feature was the homework walkthrough -- when enabled, it would give a simplified version of the problem and point out the steps to finish it. Then, I could adapt the method to finish my assigned problems. It was useful, like an automated online tutor.

Cons

The data entry is finicky and can be frustrating. Depending on the exact answer entered, I may receive points off because of rounding or significant figure errors. I also have had trouble with graphing features, when I miss credit on a graph because I do not place a line or curve at the exact right coordinates. Because of these, I waste time and frustration on formatting while my learning is not increased.

### "Makes Learning Easiesr"

July 19, 2019

5.0

Overall this software is great. Our K-6 teachers use it for math and reading daily. It helps with assignment completion since students have access at home.

Pros

Connect is a great supplemental tool for the classroom, and is a great place for e-learning. It is available for a variety of classes, and offers differentiated activities and practice. It is available to students at school and home, so they always have access to the needed material.

Cons

It can be a bit difficult to located exactly what you want, as there are many resources and the setup is not as organized as I'd like. We also occasionally have issues with popups not working on Chromebooks.

### "Connect Kids to Learning"

March 19, 2019

5.0

I like using the software more than their competitors.

Pros

\-In the Edition I teach with the reading sections are short but multiple pages which keeps the students from getting bored. - There are different activities to change the pace and keep student engaged. -There are two different course paths for students; one with depth and one for general learning

Cons

\-The instructor is not able to see students' progress in real time. - There is no quick check for understanding to see shich students have been following along and which have not.

### "Textbook and Homework Source"

April 13, 2020

5.0

I really enjoyed using McGraw-Hill for my accounting classes. I would recommend using it as an educational tool.

Pros

I was required to buy McGraw Connect to take my accounting homework in college. I also purchased my textbooks on McGraw which provided me useful study materials like flashcards and quizzes. My favorite tool is the interactive textbook that highlights important information.

Cons

One problem I had with the interactive textbook were the reminders to take the quiz. It would useful for there to be a way to turn off that notification because it was distracting.
