It works for any size organization. Pros I love that you can have many users in the system and share the information across multiple plants. It does a great job of presenting the labels so they are compliant with the laws and the updates keep us compliant. I can even use the software to compensate for cook loss for a thermally processed product. It's very precise and I feel 100% confident in the data. Cons The system is not as easy to use as I would like. You have to click around a lot and sometimes the formatting gets glitched up. If you aren't careful you can modify an ingredient and change labels without realizing so you have to be cautious of what you are doing. I think the change-tracking could be better as well - or if the system had a version history that would be helpful. Genesis customer support is an incredibly useful and helpful with any problems you can encounter with software roll out. Pros Genesis R&D Food Labeling is an incredibly advanced and feature packed program. It has a huge list of features that no other program has on the market. Cons It's incredibly expensive and would require you to use all of the features available to make the yearly price worth it. It is also one of the least user friendly. The Genesis interface hasn't changed much over the years and is relatively simple. Once you figure your way around creating NFPs is easy. Cons It can be a little cumbersome at times. Lots of little menus and features you have to turn on and off. That's the price you pay for versatility. With the complicated CFR rules it has to comply with its not surprising that the software has to be overly versatile.
