Pros The free version has a lot of things going for itYou only need to be a little creative and you can turn one of the free templates into anything you want, or start from scratch. I like the flexibility and that there are lots of icons and shapes available Cons If you're not creative, you might want to level up to have access to over 600 templates. They have templates for everything and honestly it makes it so much easier and quicker to just choose one, and fill in the info you need. Cons Only con that comes to mind is that the edits are live as you make them; meaning I can't make all the edits I need to make and then publish the document for others to review/see (they see the edits as I am making them). Highly recommended for businesses who can't afford to pay for design work. Pros Huge help to my small business! This platform allows drag and drop editing that is simple and easy to use. Flyers, posters, and presentations are easy to pull together using the existing templates. I only have the free account, and it is really all I need for my uses. Pros Piktochart is absolutely the best infographics creator in my opinion. They have a decent selection of graphics and elements available for free, and their results are very professional-looking. The design of the software handles the nature of the strange size of an infographic quite well. Cons In the free version, there is still a limited amount of elements you can choose from, which makes it a bit difficult to achieve the results you may envision, but you still can create an image that is functional and modern. I can quickly upload my video, title it, view the transcription and edit if necessary, and then share on social media sites. In a manner of minutes. Piktostory has increased the number of likes, views, shares, and responses to my content. It is now my go to product in covering Notre Dame athletics and others are following my lead. Cons Piktochart can be a bit limiting for more experienced design users. Some elements are hard to create if you don't obtain the element from an already created template. The free version limits your ability to download PDFs or generate high quality exports. The freedom that Piktochart allows to explore your creativity is unparallel! Pros Overall, I love the ease of use. Anyone can use this software, from elementary schoolers to elderlies. I began using this software in fifth grade and it has helped me with school projects and now in college, presentations. The accessibility is amazing! Cons There were sometimes when I could not find the font that I liked. There are definitely good fonts but an interesting feature would be being able to create your own font! March 29, 2018 4.0 Pros I love the access to the templates and icon library. The text frames are really cool as well to find new ways to make text visually attractive and include facts and figures. Cons Not being able to upload custom fonts is big for us. Also, when you share a piktochart, the other person can't download it, they can only view it. This means we have to download a copy each time and upload it somewhere for them to be able to mark-up during review processes. I've found however that the design line-up is inconsistent- meaning when you're trying to align something the auto-alignment is a little wonky. Also, if you zoom in to say 300% something looks aligned, but when you zoom out to 100% there's space. I've found this inconsistency to bleed over to the pdfs as well. It is worth paying for it if you have a team of more than 2 persons. Pros I liked the fact that the software helped us quite a bit with designing our newsletter. Also, we were able to create different postcards and Facebook cards. Cons I did not like that it was not compatible with Outlook, at that moment. Pros Creating an infographic is easy and fun on this application. Lots of detailed templates to choose from. No experience in graphic design necessary. Cons As for the other features, I dont think this product is the best in its class. Templates are not as varied or creative as its competitors and effects/fonts etc are not as unique. In general big plus, but value for money avg, if there will be wider selection of content, that it would be great tool. Pros Nice templates that is equivalently easy to change. The quality of templates are really good, I would say outstanding. The platform itself is not overloaded with features, which makes me comfortable to use. Cons Lack of possibility of adding some animations and include films, motion pictures. Missing color picker tool, I had to enter the color manually when it was not available on palette. There shall be some methods, that I can share the info-graphics with my custom domain name in HTML5 format. It has a variety of graphics that can be used as: bar, pie, venn diagram, among others, in which you can import data from csv or xlsx files or use a Google Spreadsheet Link to manage dynamic data. It offers a variety of maps to place in the design and the possibility of adding data and legends. It allows you to include video files from YouTube and Vimeo. Once a presentation is published you can add transitions, I can also choose if only I can see the presentation or if I want to share it through social networks. allows download in png format to an acceptable quality in the free version. Cons you can not work collaboratively unless you hire the pro team plan Elements can not be animated when presentations are made. Place a watermark that you can only remove by contracting the pro plan or pro team plan. Pros There is almost NO learning curve for making really sharp infographics and PDFs. The stock images are really helpful, as are the templates. Pros I appreciate how Piktochart makes it possible to drag and drop any element that you want within your project. It is easy to add and maneuver any text or pictures you want. I've used Piktochart to create info-graphs for three different projects at work. Cons The only thing I didn't like were the limitations with just using the free version. There were one or two very useful features that I had to pay to use (which of course is how the company creates the incentive to pay for the full version). Pros The layout is very simple to work with. As a first-time infographic creator, I've explored a variety of websites trying to find the simplest ones. This lands in the top 3. I was able to craft a infograph from a template in less than 30min, and it even allowed for me to make changes that suited my needs. Cons Huge downside: templates are very limited in free versions. They provide a "lite" version, which is half the cost of the more useful paid option. This version doesn't allow you as much freedom though, so it's hard to justify the use of more templates without the extra functionality. This doesn't take away from the platform though - the quality is there, just comes at a cost! Review Source Jeremy R.
