### "Kiddom’s Perks and Flaws "

December 2, 2020

4.0

I believe Kiddom is an easy software to get comfortable with fast. I had no problem or issue on how to access my classes and post assignments with instruction for my students.

Pros

What I like most about this software is that it allows our school to teach and connect with students who need an easy platform to follow without in person instruction. Kiddom allows you to post assignments, tests, write important announcement’s that will send directly to a students phone if they have their notifications on (I was told by a distance learner, this was there favorite thing about kiddom).

Cons

The least thing I like about Kiddom is accessing students who submit work through the notification button, and how it doesn’t have a gradebook or anywhere that says if a student hasn’t turned in an assignment.

### "Using Kiddom in a Hybrid Third Grade Class"

December 4, 2020

3.0

My experience with kiddom has been decent.

Pros

I like that I simply drag the assignments onto the students\` timelines and they can do them asynchronously. I also like that I can assign assignments to individuals in my class.

Cons

I do not like how difficult it is to access the assignments to edit them. It requires a lot of clicking. Our timelines also get very cluttered with all of the assignments that we assign. I wish there was a way to make it more organized.

### "Using Kiddom to teach distance learning studnets"

November 20, 2020

4.0

Overall, Kiddom has been great to use this past few months moving to distance learning. My students had an easy time figuring out how to use it. I love that they are continuing to update Kiddom, and make it better for us.

Pros

I like that on Kiddom I am able to make my assignments under the curriculum in advance, and then not assign them until the day I need them. I also like that my colleagues are able to share assignments we have made on Kiddom to help with the work load.

Cons

What I do not like about Kiddom is that if you make a chart as an answer choice, you have to make it in the answer in order for students to write their answers in. My students accidently hit the back space all the time and then their whole chart is deleted from the assignment and they do not know what their question is.

### "I like this program for the most part. It takes some getting used to."

November 20, 2020

3.0

I don't mind using it at this point. There are things that can be made better. If certain things were changed it would probably be a pretty good platform.

Pros

It is fairly easy to create units and lessons and then make them available to students.

Cons

When students turn in late work, I am not aware that they have turned anything in. I have to go back and check student by student from the screen to my gradebook in order to find students who submitted after I initially graded the assignment. It takes a lot more time than I have. I also cannot see the date that they turned it in. This is my biggest complaint. Late work should go to a certain place or it needs to have a submission date. Also, we should be able to fine tune how we are seeing and storing our assignments and units. They tweaked it a month ago and that seemed to make it a little better but I would like to be in control of that.

### "Kiddom Review "

December 4, 2020

3.0

Pros

I like that students have a timeline to easy access their assignments for the week. I love the new added feature where students can type a comment to me in the assignment.

Cons

I have constant issues with creating assignments. I will start typing a question and when I click off of it, it disappears so I have to retype it. This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME I am creating an assignment. I wish there was an easier way to fix a problem with an assignment without deleting it off of the students' timelines, re-edit it, and redrag the assignment over. I wish that instead of putting a notification in the "bell," it would give a pop up if students need to look at my comments. I wish there was a way that students could see their wrong answers and then correct them and resubmit.

### "Kiddom works well for me."

November 20, 2020

4.0

Kiddom is help me to teach my students who are distance learning. Without it, my job would be much more difficult.

Pros

Once I learned how to use Kiddom, it because an ease tool to use. I like the way I can organize my lessons and assignments. Also, having the app available for students makes it more accessible to them.

Cons

The one thing that I do not like about Kiddom is the "submit" button. Too many of my students think that by clicking this button, it turns their assignment in to me. Most of the time the assignment they are to turn in is identified within the assignment. I'm afraid for our distance learners, they think all they have to do is click submit and their assignment is completed, when it is not.

### "Review of Kiddom"

November 25, 2020

3.0

Kiddom is better than nothing, and it has a lot of potential, but there is a lot of work needed, too. I do hope my system will keep it next year because we have spent so many hours putting material on it and I want the ability to reuse it.

Pros

The appearance of it in the planning section and the ability to grade on the platform.

Cons

The appearance of it on the student side. It doesn't sync with our grade system. I can't rearrange the sequence of classes. It is really difficult going back to grade late work. I can't edit an assignment once and have it affect all classes. Students have a hard time finding assignments. There isn't a drag an drop feature so I can duplicate assignments or reorder them.

### "Pleasant and usable"

June 22, 2018

4.0

We were looking for a good way to get students and classes grouped for Flipped Learning and this was a great solution that worked well across two schools. Overall, I'm very happy.

Pros

It's cross-platform availability, the fact that students can install it on their smartphones; especially now it's available on either iOS or Android as well as desktop. The ease of creating a class and how students can add themselves without a big fuss.

Cons

I cannot duplicate planned curriculums across classes, I have to add it all again manually which is a massive pain when I work across two different schools but am teaching more or less the same level and curriculum.

### "Science Teacher review"

November 20, 2020

We did not have a lot of training before we started using this platform. I feel like the platform was not ready for what we required. I feel like they are trying to update it and make it better, but it is frustrating as it changes after we have adjusted to it.

Pros

The system allows pictures to be added easily.

Cons

It is confusing to add content to lessons. It takes a lot of time to add content. It does not allow the students to edit a word document. It does not allow the students to take a picture of their work and easily add it to turn in. It continues to make changes without letting us know. It often deletes student work or answers we enter. It is picky about how to add posts and other items. It does not always save it unless you hit enter or something like that.

### "Honest review"

December 4, 2020

3.0

Kiddom did not solve the problems associated with distance learning, rather it created more. I now use it to direct my students to other classroom management software that I was already using prior to the pandemic.

Pros

It synched with Skyward to import all of my students by classes. Easy to create assignments.

Cons

Students could mark complete even if they did not submit any work, therefore their parents thought they were all caught up. In progress wording makes you think the student still working on it. Making changes was the WORST! If I needed to make a change to anything in that week's lesson, I would have to unassigned and then reassign. At times the work submitted and lesson plans would disappear. Students had difficulty using it on mobile devices and navigating it overall which then gave them the excuse just to not do the work. Also, to grade work that is attached, you have to download everything individually to grade instead of having it open into windows within the program.

### "Adjustments needed "

November 29, 2020

3.0

It’s been frustrating. I think it’s all fixable, but it seems as though it was not geared for elementary use.

Pros

I like the idea of the timeline and features offered.

Cons

Having to click on each student to see their work Not being able to move things around on timeline, color coding things as completed, having to change points for each question - it should be one point as the default ( make it elementary friendly), need to be able to let kids go back and correct work that’s been submitted, teacher creating questions and answer choices is way too time consuming and it freezes up often then you lose what’s been typed

### "Kiddom critique"

November 22, 2020

3.0

My school system uses this as one of many choices for teachers to present information to distance learners. It was easy to pick up on and implement. I really have not had time to explore other options. The most crucial feature for me is the test feature. However, It is VERY tedious to input questions. My 50 question mid-term exam took me over an hour and 20 minutes to input. Also, I do not have the option to use my own standards. There is no way for me to use Kiddom to compile data about how many students missed what test question(s). I had to do that by hand, laboriously.

Pros

It was easy to pick up on and use. It is easy to embed videos.

Cons

The test making feature is abysmally slow and tedious.

### "Kiddom- solid start but cumbersome "

November 24, 2020

3.0

It’s certainly a start for a blended learning package but it needs to work out some kinks in order to be on par with its collegial rivals such as D2L or blackboard.

Pros

I like the ability to create units and curriculum for each of my classes. This feature allows for multiple lessons and activities to be created and organized for teacher deployment to student.

Cons

It is really difficulty to navigate the notifications. Sometimes I have students submit work late and the only way for me to dig out who submitted what and when is either go back to the original assignment or sift through the notifications. This is so time consuming that I have resorted to students emailing me completed work rather than uploading to kiddom.

### "Unfinished Product"

November 20, 2020

4.0

I'm very neutral. I like the overall design and ease of use, but it is missing so many obvious functions that you are left constantly finding workarounds for things that should be easy.

Pros

Kiddom is easy to understand and intuitive for teachers and students to navigate.

Cons

It lacks a tremendous amount of basic functionality. It is impossible to copy assignments for sharing, editing, or differentiating between students. It is impossible to reorder assignments in student timelines. Less critical for my needs, built in curriculum is mostly links to demos of other software and is generally useless.

### "Kiddom Review"

November 20, 2020

3.0

It is okay, and it has been a learning curve for sure. In the beginning it was hard and Kiddom was not working a lot. My parents and I had hard time uploading assignments and we thought they were there and then they were not, but the good thing is they have been working out the kinks when I message them about the problems.

Pros

I like how all of my work is in one area.

Cons

I do not like how you lose your spot when grading past work. Sometimes I am a week or two behind and it is hard having to go back and forth looking for assignments. I wish there was an easier way to toggle through assignments then just scrolling.

### "View from an Educator"

November 20, 2020

2.0

I'm doing my best with what is provided.

Pros

Being able to drag assignments into the timeline.

Cons

Kiddom is difficult to navigate with multiple clicks to get anywhere within the program. Once an task is assigned, you have to unassign it to fix anything then reassign it for each class. I am limited with what I can have my students do within Kiddom. Students cannot change anything or resubmit their work once it has been submitted. Students have a hard time navigating through their classes in the timeline.

I can communicate and distribute information to my students who are distance learning.

Pros

Kiddom is user friendly, and their customer help team responds in a quickly manner.

Cons

I don't like that I have to upload material separately. Most of my classes use the same lessons.

### "Kiddom is an easy to use platform that is constantly evolving "

November 20, 2020

4.0

Kiddom, throughout the course of the year has become one of my favorite tools during the pandemic. It has a simple interface that takes very little training to get the students and teachers going. I believe in a short time, this will be the foremost distance learning platform.

Pros

The timeline feature is awesome because it helps the students and I keep track of what we are supposed to be doing.

Cons

Kiddom runs very slowly at times, so I anything they can do to improve the speed and responsiveness of this program will go a long way.

### "Review of Kiddom"

November 30, 2020

5.0

My overall experience has been pleasant. I do like how the students can submit their work easily on the platform.

Pros

I like how the students have immediate access to the work that I upload.

Cons

I do not like how when new students are added to your teacher's roster, then the old assignments (or those for that week) do not automatically show up for the student. If they are added to the class they should have immediate access to what has already been posted for that particular class.

### "Struggle with Kiddom"

December 11, 2020

3.0

It has been a struggle to teach and maintain my classes in Kiddom, but activity making is really nice!

Pros

Activity making is great, though sometimes glitchy

Cons

The interface is a bit of a mess. The students have to transverse a lot of steps to get to assignments and they have to check each individual class to see if they have assignments instead of one timeline for all of their assignment.

### "Education Learning Platform"

November 20, 2020

3.0

Big learning curve at the beginning of the year. Things are smoother now. I still have a lot to learn. I like how the team listens to our ideas and tries to implement with new features as quickly as possible.

Pros

I like that it is easy for students to move around in.

Cons

It needs to have a place to post a daily schedule - not as an assignment. How can you be marked "late" on a daily schedule? A list of actual unsubmitted assignments would be great for parents, students, and teachers.

### "Kiddom Review"

November 20, 2020

4.0

Pros

I like that there is a message board to communicate with students individually and create posts for them to all see. I like that students can access their work online and download directly from the website.

Cons

The late work sections is difficult to wade through. I think adding a section that brings up individual student's missing/ submitted work would definitely help to allow teachers to see who has completed and not completed work.

Overall this has been a learning experience for all of us. I wasn't going to use kiddom in the beginning but once I started using the program I have been enjoying it.

Pros

I like that it is easy to load and is user friendly. I also appreciate the customer service and how they are listening.

Cons

I dislike how students can just hit submit without submitting anything. I would also like to be able to change things once I have pulled over for the day.

### "Too many clicks but a lot of potential "

November 20, 2020

4.0

I believe Kiddom has a lot of potential but needs to have more teachers involved in the design process.

Pros

Adding assignments to the timeline is easy and intuitive.

Cons

Checking the completed assignments and grading requires a lot of clicks and back and forth between pages. There should be a way that allows for you to stay on the same student and check assignments easily. There should be a way to archive previous grading periods.
