### "Best Object based storage solution "

February 21, 2019

4.0

AWS S3 is the most cost-effective and the most reliable storage service, we have ever used. We have implemented this solution for an industry-leading software development company in APAC. Their primary concern was the security of the data object and the high availability. They also expected versioning enabled product from us. Finally, we decided to choose AWS-s3 after considering and comparing other verdicts solutions from different vendors. Finally, we were able to implement a highly secure, highly available and cost-effective storage solution for the client for less than one month.

Pros

The best things I like about this product is ; \* Security. \* User Friendliness \* Customer Support \* Comprehensive Documentation

Cons

Downloading data is bit expensive. Mostly for the Glacier archived data retrieval . The worst thing is we are being charged the same amount for transferring data between AWS resources. If they introduce a different and fair payment scheme for this, it would be beneficial for most of their customers.

### "A reliable cloud storage service"

September 27, 2021

5.0

Pros

Amazon S3 was designed to be scalable according to the needs of organizations, providing flexibility for developers with the simple user interface. The document management is flexible and can be customized according to organizational policies. Particularly, the migration is simpler than anticipated because of S3 support and tools that are available. Additionally, the price is reasonable in comparison to other services.

Cons

Searching for files within a bucket is always a challenging and time-consuming task. Additionally, it needs to improve the overall reporting functionality, as it makes things confusing.

### "Great for file storage"

December 3, 2019

5.0

This is the de facto industry standard for storing files. It's great and I'd recommend it to any team that has a website or something similar where they need to store/host files.

Pros

It's super easy to use. Cheap, reliable, and effective network storage. There is both a web GUI as well as client libraries for interacting with S3 via its REST API.

Cons

Some of the AWS CLI commands for interacting with S3 are a bit clunky. It would be nice if they streamlined the CLI to be a bit easier to use.

### "Once you get past the learning curve, S3 is great"

July 27, 2018

4.0

Pros

I love the flexibility of S3. At my company, sometimes my team needs to store small amounts of data, and sometimes we need to store huge amounts of data (multiple terabytes) depending on what type of client project we are working on. With S3 we can easily ramp up our storage capacity when necessary, but then scale it back down when we don't need it. It is way more cost effective than purchasing our own in-house storage that would sit near empty most of the time. I also like how the data can be accessed programatically or through the user interface, so that both the technical and non-technical members of my team can access it.

Cons

S3 was a pain to initially set up. It might be because I am new to cloud storage, but when I was tasked with setting up some buckets on S3 for my team I had to spend lots of time trying to figure everything out. Luckily though, with the help of Google I got the hang of things and was able to figure everything out. The documentation for S3 can definitely be improved.

Pros

Feature I liked the most about Amazon S3 is it is very easy to host your resources on the cloud and it is having very well documentation.

Cons

### "Great for storage"

July 16, 2021

5.0

This is the place where I have stored most of my data. The fact that it is integrated with many tools is key for me. Also, in terms of pricing, it offers different storage options, which is a great idea for data you need to access frequently and data you don't have to access to often. I highly recommend S3 (and AWS in general) also because the console is very user friendly and you don't need to be an expert in the cloud to work with it.

Pros

I have used Amazon S3 for a few years in different companies and I really like how useful and easy to use it is. You can store your data, objects and files here for little cost and access them from a variety of tools.

Cons

When you signin to another account or with another AWS user, in another tab in the same browser, it logs out, which is very inconvenient.

### "A very useful storage service for your website"

April 29, 2020

5.0

This host allows me to store several websites in one place, since many of my clients have more than one website this is a perfect solution to have everything in one place, so you have greater control of the sites and you always know where they are.

Pros

It is a very reliable and stable service, your website will always be available to everyone who accesses it, its costs are relatively low, very useful for medium and large companies. You have a wide variety of customization that perfectly fit your day-to-day needs. You can go from a very basic service, which because it is basic does not mean that you will not have a wide variety of services, on the contrary you will have a wide variety at your disposal.

Cons

If you do not have experience interacting with amazon environments, you can lose a bit, as was my case at the beginning, but when you get the hang of it, everything looks easier. You can always find online course for this service that won't be expensive and you will learn a lot from them, then you will realize how easy is to use this service.

### "end of data storage problem"

June 27, 2022

it is one of the most trusted software when it comes to cloud data storage . it provides reliable performance and one can use it without any second thought in the mind. the downloading speed of any data is very fast. and it does not require any expert to use it . it is so user friendly.

Cons

sometimes the software lags and finding file in the bucket sometimes become more challenging. the reporting functionality really need to be improved a lot. it should provide to stream the huge file function without downloading.

### "A Top Cloud Tech Company"

July 17, 2019

5.0

I needed a cheap alternative to storing my ever-growing data sets in-house, and also needed to expand my web server storage for backups and daily file usage. Amazon S3 allowed me to do all of that, and more, saving me hundreds of dollars per month in the process. Integrating S3 into my websites was simple itself because the protocols were already built into CPanel and the web apps I use, so it was just a matter of setting up S3 and then activating! Configuring the finer details and security was a bit trickier, but for the cost savings, I'll deal!

Pros

I don't believe I have found a single thing that the S3 platform CANNOT do when it comes to cloud storage. I needed a cheaper alternative for both long and short term data storage, and S3 delivers with it costing PENNIES PER GB to store files online. I love how configurable the storage platforms are, and how you can loosen and tighten security at will to allow exactly what you want, and nothing you do not.

Cons

Like most cloud tech, setting up S3 isn't for the faint of heart. I really wish these guys would build a wizard that would help folks who just need one of a few simple setup options rather than jumping through a hundred sections.

### "S3 Cloud Storage"

May 19, 2021

5.0

I have been using S3 for a long time now, its very easy to setup and work with. API integrations are very easy to setup. It can effortlessly hold large data sets, but sometimes searching on S3 for files is not very easy, it is a slow process and hangs the application. On a overall level my experience with S3 is very good, I would strongly recommend S3 for storage.

Pros

Very easy to setup, automation of process at data front using python, bash scripting is very useful. Drag and drop feature for files is very smooth. Pricing is very decent, it becomes very easy to host large amounts of data on S3.

Cons

Searching for files may hang the application. The user interface is little outdates. If we have multiple buckets in S3 then certain automations may become tedious.

### "Amazon S3 - One of the best Cloud Storage Offerings for Corporates"

April 28, 2022

5.0

My overall experience with Amazon S3 has been great. As a part of the Product team at ZS, we use Amazon S3 to store CSV and Parquet files primarily which contain the datasets used for testing out our analytics-driven products hosted on Amazon EC2. We provide the S3 credentials inside these tools to import the files to the tool from S3, and then perform exploratory data insights on the tool to provide insights to the client teams. S3 has supported us well by the support of multiple file formats.

Pros

The feature which I like the most about Amazon S3 is that I can transfer files of almost all formats to it. In the Product team at ZS of which I am a part, we use Amazon S3 to primarily store large CSV files which are used for testing our products hosted on Amazon EC2. We have started extending support to other file formats like ORC and Parquet to enable faster data processing, and Amazon S3 supports us amazingly by providing support to store files in these formats as well.

Cons

There is nothing much that I dislike about Amazon S3. We require a separate software named Cloudberry to transfer the files from the local system to Amazon S3 and vice versa. It would be helpful if this file transfer could be enabled through an online website since having additional software requires IT permissions and becomes a hassle initially.

### "Amazong storage solution"

March 12, 2019

5.0

From cold storage to frequently accessed data S3 is all we use now in replacement of our legacy SAN ans NAS appliances, and everything is so much better.

Pros

Amazon ticks all the right boxes with S3. It's security and encryption options are second to none, it's speed is as fast as your connection can handle, it's price is fair and reasonable within the 3 storage tiers, the lifecycle management is great, access control policies are very flexible and efficient, auditing and versioning are amazing.

Cons

The management console has been getting better over the years, but there's still room for improvements. A desktop client would be great too so we wouldn't have to rely on 3rd party tools for synchronizing data.

### "Great option for storage and flexible at meeting different needs, a bit of a learning curve"

August 22, 2019

5.0

If security and reliability is important to you, I recommend!

Pros

I have used this primarily for storage and also as an encoding tool to normalize videos. Once you learn how to navigate it, it functions reliably and is great for storage, searching, organizing, etc. It has been flexible to meet different needs as well - my team was able to use it to upload and then normalize videos on top of storing them, and automating a naming convention.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve, it is not intuitive to navigate (at least for those who don't typically work with this environment). Also, while security is great, it is a tad annoying to update your password and secret key.

### "The best simple storage cloud solution"

May 6, 2020

5.0

We use AWS S3 in order to store files and serve them for apps. It's very easy to use and rarely fails. It integrates well with other AWS services.

Pros

AWS S3 purpose is extremely focused and I like that a lot. It does one thing and does it extremely well while also providing a power set of tools to manage and maintain usage. Integration with apps is very simple and so widespread, barely any code is needed to be written nowadays in order to integrate to your app.

Cons

For new developers it can be a bit confusing if they are used to learning by examples given that its usage is well abstracted. The good thing is that it has some of the best and most comprehensive documentation out there.

### "A developers dream storage solution"

July 22, 2019

4.0

Storage any number of files with a pay what you use model. Very useful without having to set up storage servers.

Pros

S3 basic feature of storing objects is super easy to use from the UI. Just click upload and drag and drop your files in. That's it. And a really nice feature with S3 is that websites can be hosted within service without using Cloudfront for testing.

Cons

Can be very overwhelming for beginners. There are so many options that can be configured, such as security permissions and tags that it is hard to navigate even with the UI. Also the S3 CLI tool does not have the best support for svg files for example and does result in some wasted time to get around issues.

### "The top option for cloud storage"

October 14, 2021

5.0

Pros

We use S3 for all our storage uses. We have options for all our uses across different teams and for use in different regions. Being able to control access from one place is critical and being able to silo data into buckets makes managing the data and accessing easy.

Cons

I feel the documentation for the console tool is sometimes not as thorough as it should be. In the web portal some of the options and actions are very limited and I am forced to either spend a long time repeating a similar action or to use the command line.

### "S3 web services for my streaming video"

September 11, 2020

5.0

I first encountered S3 when a friend asked me to help redesign her website after another designer quit. It took me a few days to fathom out what was happening with AWS, using their S3 system. Then I saw how easy it was to embed a code to stream onto a Wordpress page. After that, I redesigned my photography page to stream any videos I make.

Pros

Once you get past the initial set-up, it's very easy to embed the codes to allow for off-site streaming through a webpage.

Cons

The learning curve is rather steep for this. It helps to have an understanding of how servers function, setting the privacy flags correctly, and keeping an eye on the bandwidth. Also, it's difficult to predict the final monthly fees, but after a few billing cycles, I had it figured out.
