### "Reliable S3 Storage in every continent to achieve low latency."

June 24, 2021

5.0

I am using S3 for the backup as well as CDN purpose and my it never disappoint me because of the tight integration with other AWS services like Lambada etc.., it support full IAM policy so the segregation of storage bucket make it unique as well as object lock feature make it total safe place to store backup.

Pros

AWS S3 is having a presence in each and every country so the latency is very much less as well as guarantee of 99.999999999% up time gives peace in mind to every user that their data is safe and in reliable Data Centers. As AWS is the oldest cloud based storage solution so it has a compatibility with all of the leading backup and disaster recovery software like Veeam, Cloudberry and others,

Cons

Pricing is bit on higher side as compared to others like Backblaze and Wasabi cloud storage (for the hot storage) on the same time for cold storage and glacier pricing is way cheap but in the case of cold storage there is a wait time associated when the matter comes to the file retrieval.

### "Amazon S3 Review"

January 3, 2022

5.0

At the beginning of October last year, there was a heavy rainfall in my city and lightning struck the office. Even with the computer's UPS, it burned out. If it wasn't for the backups made inside Amazon S3, I would have lost everything and honestly I wouldn't even know what to do in that situation. I just have to thank this company and this software.

Pros

Amazon S3 allows me to make security backups of all data involving my customers and my company. This enables me to always be secure with my information, no matter what the situation is. On top of all this, it has an intelligent storage system that can divide up your data as needed for each type of data.

Cons

Honestly, I have nothing to complain about this software. I never had any problems accessing and using it. Not only does Amazon provide excellent customer support, but the few times I have needed them, I have been well taken care of.

### "Cost effective and scalable cloud storage"

January 31, 2021

4.0

I use this service to store resources of several websites. The best thing about is that I do not have to pay a larger amount as I only have to pay for usage. I can easily scale up or down depending on my requirements. Also, I am happy because I know my data is safe because it is duplicated in multiple places.

Pros

Amazon S3 provides storage options for various use cases from data storage for websites and apps to big data analysis. The best feature is it's scalability. This allows you to increase or decrease resources depending on demand, without the traditional need of buying actual physical resources such as disk drives. Data is also safe because the same data is kept across multiple locations which ensures data is not lost even if there is a failure in on server location. A number of useful tools are provided to manage your data. Another thing I like about S3 is the great support that is available.

Cons

There is a learning curve to using Amazon S3. You need specific knowledge and skills and I would say it is not for the average consumer. There is a lot to read and understand if you are starting out in this field. This could be simplified by Amazon. Other than that, this is one of the very few services that I find it hard to point out a negative.

### "The best place to store files for yourself, and to distribute them too if you need to"

March 13, 2019

5.0

Pros

I love how cheap and how easy S3 is, as well as how reliable and resilient it is. I have confidence that stuff that I store on there is going to be safe from failure and attack. It's also a great platform from which to serve a content delivery network like CloudFront. All of which is a doddle to set up, hardly costs anything and works really, really well!

Cons

The pricing can be a bit confusing. For example, for some things I've always used Reduced Redundancy Storage because it's a even cheaper still and the reduced redundancy isn't an issue. However, it seems the standard pricing has now dropped to the point that it's bizzarely cheaper, and you get a message when using the web console advising against RRS. It's unclear exactly what the price difference is for various actions, so that could be made a bit clearer for those of us who don't have time look into it further.

### "Easy Hosting and very affordable"

December 12, 2018

5.0

I would say very positive. We have been in business for 19 years. The last 10 we have used Amazon S3 for our cloud solution. Amazon is very affordable, they have great dashboards to help you analyze your utilization which helps you scale up or down quickly as well as set up a new server.

Pros

Amazon makes setting up your cloud simple! They provide great tutorials even a beginner can understand.

Cons

The ability to contact Amazon via a quick phone call. You must first fill out a webform and select a method of communication. Once this has been selected you will be contacted very quickly.

### "NOT as simple as they advertise"

June 22, 2018

5.0

Pros

S3 is, in the grand scheme of things, rather straightforward (most of the time). More importantly, it's flexible enough to do exactly what it purports to do: Store file. Simply(-ish).

Cons

The developers at Amazon have a weird idea about what "simple" means. Backblaze B2 is a pretty good example of a much simpler solution, albeit without as much functionality and without much in the way of SDKs (as of writing this). If you've never used S3 before, it'll take you a little while to get your head wrapped around how it works.

### "Perfect to store my mp4, mp3, and pdf files"

June 4, 2021

5.0

I really like S3, because it is so easy to use. One I got the hang of what to do, it is literally just a few clicks and done!

Pros

Best feature: Ease of downloading and converting to shareable links. I use Amazon S3 solely for the storage of my mp4, mp3, and pdf files. It is simple to download them into appropriate "buckets" and assign the ability for anyone to read. I then get a sharable link which I can place in emails, on websites, for podcast distribution, etc. All our book files go here too. Very inexpensive and easy to use.

Cons

I got a little confused by all the features and abilities offered -- and ended up just focusing on the thing I needed. The "help" is a little over my head -- and there is a little learning curve to figure out what you need to do to create links that are readable fo everyone.

### "Buckets better than conventional storage."

November 4, 2018

5.0

Great for uploads of pictures and data, you pay for what you use and your server can be free from space issues.

Pros

I was struggling because our site support pictures uploading and the drive was filling out, I heard of S3 and created a bucket, was able to easily setup the app to upload to S3, and I pre compressed the images on the server and then send them to S3, I dont have to worry anymore of space isssues on my server.

Cons

Could be easier to use, has a learning curve as a lot of AWS services. Lack of Image compression when uploading an image.

### "Very versatile object storing"

January 30, 2019

5.0

Mandatory if you are working on AWS environment, check other providers if price overall (not only the storage section) is critical.

Pros

S3 can manage your data lifecycle automatically (move data from more expensive and fast storage type to cheaper but slower as data becomes older and less accessed). You can associate the buckets (storing unit, like a top level folder) to a Internet domain of your choose, so you can access the objects as they were on your server. You can put a CDN in front of it.

Cons

Maybe it’s a little more expensive than competition

### "A New Norm"

February 10, 2021

5.0

Interesting. I am impressed by how many services this company provides, and even more satisfied with how well they provide said services. I will no doubt be building all my future projects with Amazon S3 services in mind as a valuable asset.

Pros

Amazon is responsible for hosting most major services such as Netflix and Parler. Without their valuable services, many business would find it much harder to exist online. Their global cloud content delivery network allows for scalable cloud-based applications to be written and deployed by almost anyone, given a little know-how.

Cons

Sometimes it could be a little easier to do basic things, such as downloading all of your files at once, or simply finding the page you're looking for.

### "Fast, reliable, useful storage"

August 24, 2021

We use it to store files for an SFTP server that automatically time out, and fire events when files are uploaded.

Pros

It's simple and has tons of uses. Great for hosting client-rendered websites, storing files, etc. Easy to set up lifecycles on files and even expose them via SFTP with Amazon Transfer. SNS integration is useful to trigger actions on files once they're present.

Cons

It's a bit more expensive than some competitors

### "For Business Cloud File Storage, There's No Better Option"

February 18, 2020

5.0

I use AWS S3 in combination with CloudMounter to mount my business files on my computer as local files. This allows me to update and view files in real time without uploading and downloading files constantly. I can therefore access my files on any device with an Internet connection.

Pros

I like that, depending on the amount of files your business has, this is a very cheap option for peace of mind to make sure your files are not lost.

Cons

There really isn't much to dislike about this software. If you have no experience using computers, it may be difficult to find your AWS keys.

### "Amazon AWS S3 Review"

December 19, 2019

5.0

The IaaS layer of AWS, S3 is a fast, secure & simple cloud storage. We use it to support our technical business and workshops. Use the webservice for application integration needs through API's

Pros

1\. Very flexible and cost effective. Easy to use UI and learn S3 services 2. API first and as such integration is a breeze, so is orchestration 3. Identity & Access Management is also good 4. Backup & archival strategies can be implemented with ease 5. integrated with Amazon products by default 6. Versioning, Lifecycle policies and Replication is also pretty helpful asset

Cons

1\. No feature for replication in a region and versioning of buckets for a region is expensive 2. Permissions can tend to become a complex nightmare 3. They can improve the service 4. No replacement for a file system..can become slow if you need to copy big files or for request like Post, Put as these are not free and can tend to be expensive for large storage of 1TB

### "S3 helps us serve huge files quickly"

November 8, 2020

5.0

Very positive! It allows us the scalability to grow our company without worrying about long term storage solutions.

Pros

The Amazon ecosystem is massive. Which is a huge plus if you go with S3 as a storage solution. It easily integrates across the board to other types of storage and archiving services that Amazon offers.

Cons

The UX/UI can for sure be improved. It almost feels like a software engineer has to be the one that interfaces with it. So we use a 3rd party service to help with the UI, but it still lacks in the feature department.

### "An integral solution for the storage of data in a secure way from the network"

March 7, 2019

5.0

It is a cost effective option for strategic data storage as long as you are in a region with a good cost structure. reduces the need for backup inventories with other online systems is a good option since Amazon is a globally recognized company which generates confidence in its services.

Pros

The benefits with which this tool counts among others is that it allows us to generate scaleble, durable and secure backup copies of our priority and privileged data of the company. In addition, an information and error recovery information infraction can be established. fatal in the system due to natural, human and other disasters; This recovery can be done quickly and easily since the information is in the AWS Storage Gateway cloud, this is a very efficient hybrid storage service.

Cons

The costs vary according to the regions that Amazon has in terms of the provision of their services, on the other hand the service is subject to the compatibility that the company has with the systems and information that is generated in the organization that has as limit the maximum use of 5 terabytes per deposit, the other detail is in the flat, non-hierarchical structure of the storage. In my opinion, this standardizes the treatment and service to all the companies, something that in some cases does not correspond to the specialized and customized services for the management of determined data according to the size of a company.

### "A Great Cloud Storage Solution for Business Needs"

February 27, 2022

5.0

Our overall experience is very positive and will recommend it to others looking for storage solutions for their business. Feature set is great and is very easy to learn and use with important security features. Pricing is optimal but pricing structure can be improved.

Pros

The thing we like the most about Amazon S3 is the user interface, very easy to use and highly configurable. Also, security features are robust. The option to have customisable URLs to share files is also helpful.

Cons

The thing we liked the least about Amazon AWS is its pricing structure, which is very confusing. Also, the AWS services has been facing some outages in recent times which can cause business issues.

### "Great service if you're in AWS ecosystem"

February 25, 2019

5.0

Pros

This is one of the few services inside of AWS ecosystem that you just can't avoid. It's a very simple file storage service. Because it's such an integral part of AWS ecosystem, it's very easy to use it with other AWS services (e.g. SFTP).

Cons

Nothing really when it works. Unfortunately there were a few down time, and when that happens, not only S3, but a bunch of other services in AWS are down, because they are all dependent on S3. Still, uptime is mostly 4 9's, so these occurrences are very rare.

### "Great option for file storage"

December 12, 2019

5.0

Overall it has been a great tool for hosting files, both submitted through our web app but also internal files that we serve on our site. It allows us to control who has access to certain buckets and an easy way to securely receive files from our clients.

Pros

We use S3 buckets to store data that is submitted through our website. This is great because it allows sensitive data to be uploaded and transferred securely to our team. It also allows for quite a bit of security on the back end to ensure that no one is able to get in and access your files. When you want to host files for your website, this is a great option as well. Whether you're looking to host image files or some other asset. Linking to your S3 bucket allows for easy asset management.

Cons

S3 buckets are a bit complicated to set up. We luckily have an AWS administrator who handles most of it but I definitely found there to be a learning curve that required reading a few online guides to make sure I was configuring it correctly. With that complication, however, comes the ability to really control the security level of your buckets.

### "Amazon S3"

April 14, 2019

3.0

Overall, S3 is a great provider for storage solutions. You just need to watch the bills and see how you can keep them in check.

Pros

It is true that AWS is a juggernaut in the industry. This is the reason I used them as my primary offsite backup repository. Many popular applications like Backup Exec integrate very nicely with S3. There is tons of documentation out there for most applications on how to use S3 with their products. The free trials for the first year are nice too.

Cons

I kept noticing that my data pool was getting larger and larger due to the types of devices I was backing up. Amazon "micro" charges for everything and my bill started to grow exponentially. You are charged for data coming in, out, at rest, long term storage, not stored long enough, lists, etc. This started to become unwieldy. Their charges are not high but in my case they just grew too much so I had to switch solutions.

### "Great Storage Service"

November 1, 2019

5.0

Our team has multiple projects which use S3 extensively for file storage. Its SDK provides an easy way to store and retrieve files. We have also used it to host the files of static website's and it works really well and has great integration with outer services like cloudfront, DMS etc.

Pros

It integrates very well with other AWS services. It offers a great deal of security for contents stored. Its availability is excellent

Cons

The console UI for this service could improved. Downloading the data, or transferring data across regions tends to be a bit expensive
