### "Excellent Deployment and Installation Tool"

September 14, 2023

4.0

Was able to install products that GPOs couldn't. Was able to discretely target systems, or initiate a sitewide roll-out.

Pros

Many options for setting up install and deploy routines. Automatically refreshed network inventory. Active Directory Integration. Ability to target by queries, OUs or just about anything.Good integration between the prodcts (Deploy and Inventory). Good reporting.

Cons

Can be kind of daunting for new users. A bit slow sometimes.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

All three are used to maintain systems.

Overall best for my use because of it's ease of use and convience provided by it.

Pros

Best thing is that it is very easy to use and guides us with the maps of printers and deployment of updated softwares.

Cons

Sometimes some error occurs in the deployment that is not so clear...On large scale it's speed slows down

### "Great Product but...."

June 3, 2021

5.0

Overall I love the functionality. I wouldn’t change a whole lot other than having access to systems outside of our network

Pros

We love being able to set custom scans for things like registry values. I can quickly pull reports or scan systems for up-to-date information when I need it.

Cons

We really need to scan systems that are outside of our network. We deploy about 80% of systems as laptops. During the last year most have been off the network or on a VPN connection for a varied amount of time. Without a client, PDQ has really struggled to meet our needs. I have expressed our struggles to your support team but I did not receive any reassurance that a client is in the works. We will continue to look for a replacement to PDQ until there is a client. I’m hopeful to find something suitable soon if PDQ can not meet the challenges of many machines outside of the network.

PDQ pulls information much faster than SCCM. Inventory is incredibly flexible and lightweight.

### "PDQ - A must have tool"

December 21, 2022

5.0

Fantastic. This tool saves our staff time and money. The team who created it have built something that has become a staple in our IT toolbox.

Pros

The ability to push out software updates, add/remove files remotely, and ease of managment.

Cons

We'd like to see more templates for more common software deployments and tasks, but the team is working on adding those on a regular basis.

### "What would I do without this bundle (Inventory + Deploy)"

October 6, 2022

4.0

After 5 years of using this bundle, I still feel I haven't use all of the options offer to me but it's doing what I want so everything is fine. And if I bug down, theirs supports is EXCELLENT, fast and to the point. Never, have I wait more than a day for a reply (try this with Microsoft).

Pros

Inventory: Knowking the state of our computers is a must. Lot of our users needs to deploy to remote places (to put out forest fire), it's imperative that theirs computers are ready to go. Using inventory and Deploy help me meet my goal.

Cons

Deploy: having to built new package is times consuming BUT they have good tutorials to help.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

It was recommended by a vendor.

### "PDQ the No Brainer solution"

December 13, 2022

5.0

I'm on the security side and our new IT manager brought in manage Engine which is good, but PDQ is better so I fought to keep PDQ and we actually still utilize it more than Manage Engine because of its easy to use interface and package deployment options.

Pros

Setting up heartbeat scans and auto deployments.

Cons

There isn't anything I can think of. If I ever had an issue support was quick and helpful.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

it was cheap

### "Patching my network"

April 17, 2023

5.0

Overall PDQ Deploy has helped me bring my patching solution on several networks up to date. It is just so much easier to use that other products I have tried over the years. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needed to keep networks up to date.

Pros

I absolutely love the ease and usage of PDQ Deploy. The product does almost everything I can ask of it in a very easy to use package.

Cons

The only con I can think of is that I get hit with a lot of hits on my Vulnerability scans for Microsoft Office products. I know it would be difficult, but it would be nice if Office patches were included in the Package Library.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

Cost and ease of use.

### "PDQ is Wonderfull"

December 21, 2022

5.0

I first tested PDQ Deploy in Free version, and you could already do so much for software deployment that I decided to buy it, so with the new features, like the task scheduler or the software store, I could improve and optimize my deployments.

Pros

DQ Deploy is easy to use, it is very efficient, once the package is created in seconds the software is deployed on several PCs.

Cons

Nothing, the sotware is perfect for my need.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

I chose PDQ Deploy, because it was just what I needed for instant software deployment

### "Excellent software"

April 8, 2022

5.0

Pros

I only came across PDQ when I started working at Skipton. I am always impressed with what it can do. Its so easy to roll out software updates or new software to multiple devices all at once. Easy to schedule installs/updates, especially out of hours. We can easily see what versions of software we have on what devices (With PDQ Inventory) and easily update the out of date ones. Support from PDQ is good and fast.

Cons

Like everything it does take a little bit of learning but its well worth it once you have learnt how it works.

### "Handy Deployment Software!"

December 19, 2022

4.0

We previously had issues deploying software to a wide range of users due to needing to manually remote onto user machines and installing the software, alternatively using Group Policy but this was a hit and miss due to requiring VPN and at times not having the full information to complete the install, when PDQ Deploy allows us to get these deployments done in less time which allows us to use our time on the more essential issues within the department.

Pros

The ability to deploy software through to our users internally has been so easy to do, also allowing additional parameters to make it a silent install or to include specific login credentials within the software install to allow it to progress without any prompt to the user. There is also a list of softwares already included within the library which are common requirements - Adobe Reader, Java, Microsoft Teams, .NET, Firefox, as well as uninstall packages.

Cons

The only function we least like about the software is the deployments/commands need to be deployed on the network - so for users not within our head office need to be on the VPN for it to be successful, however this then causes it to be difficult for some machines to be updated. However if there was a cloud function for deployment than it would resolve this issue.

### "Perfect for mid-tier patch management"

December 21, 2022

5.0

Pros

It's easy to create groups of servers that may need to be patched at different times based on usage. That also makes it easy to manage which patches are most important depending on server usage. i.e. is it connected to the Internet or not.

Cons

The biggest pain point is that it does not support Linux servers.

### "PDQ Deploy is awesome!"

August 9, 2022

5.0

Pros

this product is very easy to use. they do have pre-built software packages but it is very easy to build your own and deploy them. It works hand in hand with PDQ Inventory and using the two together we are able to pretty much automate software deployments. I also like that they have weekly webcasts that are entertaining and very informative.

Cons

none so far, the product has done everything that I have asked of it and more.

ease of use

### "Great for PC Asset Management"

March 14, 2022

5.0

We cycle out our computers every 4 years. PDQ is great for seeing what software needs added to their new machine. Being able to see the current OS and uptime, laptop make and model, and serial number all on the main view, we can eliminate some trouble shooting steps while on the phone with a user. The customer queries are very helpful. In just a glance I can see how many people have a specific software, so I'm able to adjust license counts to match.

Pros

The ability to make whatever customer queries you need. You can setup multiple queries based on department that machines are in, software that is used, and even based on how much free space is available on the device.

Cons

It is great for seeing what software is installed on a machine, and you can even uninstall programs directly through PDQ, but you cannot search for updates for software. We still utilize Ninite for software deployment and updates. If they added it to PDQ, it would be a great time saver.

### "PDQ is a Life Saver"

December 13, 2022

When you dont have Enterprise budget, PDQ will provide all of the necessary tools to make like easy for sys admins.

Pros

We are able to scan and patch workstations and servers from a single pane.

Cons

It would be nice if this application could also have the ability to be used locally through a web browser.

### "An excellent product which is easy to use and very effective"

December 14, 2022

5.0

Really helped reduce manual work loads, improved reliability and improved visibility.

Pros

The ability to push out updates and installs is very powerful. Standard packages are excellent and the ability to script very complex installs (including Oracle developer tools) is far better than other far more expensive alternatives.

Cons

When users are in the office or connected to the VPN then PDQ works brilliantly. However, if a use is out of the office and not connected to the VPN they go dark. The introduction of an 'Agent' will resolve this issue . Note: We have signed up to take early releases of this functionality coming in early 2023.

### "PDQ should be the first thing you reach for as a solo Sysadmin!"

December 14, 2022

5.0

Overwhelmingly positive. A huge assistance for me on a day to day basis, I use it to help build new deployments (as we do not have the budget for a costly imaging solution).

Pros

PDQ Deploy and Inventory work hand in hand and this alone is a great thing to see. But the uses of PDQ beyond that then is so convenient. In my case, I came across a security vulnerability in Google Chrome. Within a few minutes, PDQ Inventory had scanned all the machines that were online to see the version of Chrome they had. If they didn't have the updated one, PDQ Deploy was able to push out the installer to pull down the latest update. All without anyone noticing. The best way to deal with a problem is to avoid it in the first place and these tools and a massive assist to that mentality.

Cons

I don't want to make it out that the software is perfect because no software is, however there are no glaring omissions either. It does what I need it to do. Possibly some sort of analytical digest on a monthly basis would be a great way to keep an eye on things.

### "PDQ Inventory & Deploy"

December 21, 2022

4.0

Software packaging is easy with important feature such as job resume after client reboot. Extensive package library with plenty of common software ready to deploy and constantly updated by PDQ.

Pros

Solution is easy to set up, both PDQ inventory & Deploy are up and running within minutes. Software packaging is easy to build, and deployment is smooth and job can be schedule for automation to targeted clients.

Cons

Lack of OS deployment and Windows Update scan and patching similar to WSUS.

Reason for choosing PDQ Deploy & Inventory

Meet my requirement when come to building software package and deploy to target group of clients.

### "Automate Those Boring Installs!"

December 21, 2022

5.0

Pros

Do you have that software that just takes ages to install with a billion prompts? What if I told you that you don't have to push more then 2 buttons? PDQ Deploy makes it sooo easy to mess with an installer one time and then you just deploy it out to your hearts content. Out of all the software we use this one is an easy win for me.

Cons

I have no cons about PDQ Deploy itself. If I ever have issues it's the software provider not providing the silent install switches. Luckily PDQ Deploy has a robust support forum where people typically have found them for you :)

### "So good that you can ignore the ifs and buts"

October 13, 2021

4.0

It is a good tool but there are less expensive solutions that, given the rise of remote work, avoid the problems that this software presents. In my company, it has worked well for monitoring and administration but there are difficulties with machines that are out of the office. Software spoofing has disappeared.

Pros

It is a very intuitive software, it is easy to implement, configure and use; its interface is eye-catching and nothing is too much. On the other hand, it is light and efficient, has a great flexibility for the implementation of packages and has a great data processing capacity; in addition, it is quite customizable which makes it a great ally when it comes to controlling how and when to run.

Cons

If you were to try to use it on machines that are out of immediate reach, you would encounter a number of difficulties. It is sometimes difficult to control with off-network systems or by using a VPN; on the other hand, the error messages that are displayed are not clear enough, which makes it difficult to resolve them because a prior investigation has to be carried out.
