Cons The system is sometimes slow to offer full report details during high traffic hours. Pros I like the country-specific guidance on data protection and privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions. A detailed analysis of GDPR & other global privacy regulations is very helpful. I find the comparison tool very useful for a multinational corporation like us which need to manage cross-border data compliance. Cons Budgeting OneTrust is difficult for smaller companies. Cons The thing I liked least about OneTrust is mostly related to the accounting side of things. It’s helped streamline our compliance processes and has made it much easier to track and manage data privacy across various regions. Their customer support is also pretty responsive whenever I’ve had questions. Pros OneTrust makes privacy management so much easier! The platform is very user-friendly, and the tools it offers for compliance are top-notch. I love how it helps me stay on top of regulations and automate a lot of the tasks that would otherwise take up a lot of time Cons One downside is that sometimes the interface feels a bit too busy, especially when there are a lot of different policies and documents to manage. It takes a bit of time to get used to navigating all the features. Customer support helpful. Pros We compared a number of options to procure OneTrust and are glad we made the decision. The tool has a number of pre-programmed processes and control which meant that we were able to quickly adopt best practice without having to spend huge amounts of resource doing this before making a purchase. Cons Our network infrastructure made achieving SSO difficult, we got there in the end however it was a challenge. Sales team were good, ocassionally pushy at times. Review Source Claudia M. GDPR Advisor Food Production Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great asset to run a Privacy programme for international and fast-paced companies that handle significant volumes of personal data and vendors" December 10, 2025 5.0 Over the last 2 years I have had the chance to test other software with similar functions to OneTrust, but I confirm that OneTrust is still the best software to run and record a Privacy programme among the ones I have personally tried. It is a very comprehensive and easy to set up software, with different competent support teams behind it. I really appreciated the new AI Governance features, which allow to record in depth AI models in use, as well as datasets and even single data fields. This allows to easily map where AI is used and for what purpose, and to act on any request to delete data when needed. A great asset to have to run a Privacy programme, especially for companies that handle significant volumes of data and vendors. Pros This is a great software, very comprehensive when it comes to Privacy compliance. I am really appreciating the AI Governance tools too, which allow to stay aware and record in detail all data assets, models and data sets used in different functions of a company. The API feature also allows to easily act on data stored in other systems connected to OneTrust (for example to erase them when requested by data subjects). Cons OneTrust used to offer many interactive trainings on Privacy, Compliance, AI and new OneTrust features that are constantly launched and updated. I recently heard that, unfortunately, they will not be updating their training materials anymore, at least not for the UK market. While this is unfortunate because I found their trainings easy to understand and useful, the other features of the product are still great. Ik was altijd alleen maar bekend met de cookiemanager, maar het is een tool met veel mogelijkheden. Daarnaast reageert de support snel op vragen. Pros OneTrust is een fijne tool als je weet hoe het werkt. Een training is dan ook erg belangrijk. Het is een veelgebruikte tool in de markt. Veel externe agencies waar we mee samenwerken, weten er ook mee te werken. Dat zorgt ervoor dat je niet alleen op eigen en interne kennis hoeft te vertrouwen in het gebruik ervan. Verder doet de tool gewoon zijn werk: het helpt om cookies te beheren op de site. Cons Het nadeel vind ik dat het moeilijk is om cookies crossdomain te managen. De tool geeft de value niet door als je naar een ander domein switcht. Daar zijn trucjes voor om dit te beïnvloeden, maar het zou fijner zijn als OneTrust hierbij kon hepen. It certainly is making our organisation a lot more secure. If we were to manage ISO 27001 compliance without Tugboat it would cost us many hours and salaries, so it is also a money saver. Pros The ease of use and how intelligently the system was designed is a huge plus. There are so many integrations available to reduce manual work. User management is great too. Outrageously affordable considering everything you get. Cons Would be good to have the ability to upload completed excel questionnaires in vendor assessment tool. For global organisations it would be great to have the UI localised in other languages and options to translate policies and procedures. The technical support is ok. Pros Onetrust is a very complete platform for managing risk, compliance, privacy and other important roles inside the company. You can manage cookies, assets, assessments and other features. Cons It is a hard work to integrate Onetrust with other systems and it is also difficult to perform tasks such as cookies scanning and the translations of the tenent is not automatic. Pros Most important for us was our ability to house all our Soc2 Type2 required documents into a single platform. Further to the above, Tugboat has many modules to manage the audit process hence saving you time and money to build your own custom processes. Cons Does not have a process to manage company assets. Pros PCI and SOC compliance is key in our industry. Tugboat resources and step by step alerts provided the assurance to our team who was not formerly trained on compliance to achieve the certifications required by our customers. Cons The compliance certification review team did not have full knowledge or understanding of the Tugboat database and had a difficult time understanding the navigation system upon purchase. The app works well and it is easy to enter information; however, it will be more efficient if we can automate the process of uploading as much information as possible. Pros Ability to capture the information and determine how our company is doing. We did not measure CO2 before and it was very insightful to be able to see where most emissions were being generated. Cons Better integration and easier way to automatically load the results. Additional information on the descriptions. Having one table format so we can easily import the information.
