It’s been wonderful! Transfer was smooth! Great customer service!

Pros

I love that it is geared specifically towards our industry

Cons

That there isn’t a way for clients to add their credit card when I schedule them (like a link they have to complete before the appointment time is confirmed) and a text system to remind them their appointment starts in 15mins and they can check in. Then stylist can say they are ready for the client via text too

Great! I enjoy learning on th app and discovering new things. I would like to be able to edit the flyers in the app.

Pros

I love the easibilty of the website. Not only for me but my clients. I love the text messaging and the goals. I love everything even the gift cards!

Cons

I don’t like that I can post the gift cards, that I can only load one pic at a time and that I can’t upload videos. I’m still learning the app though.

### "There are better options for your business"

My overall experience with GlossGenius is that for a lower-cost system, it's okay. They are continuously raising the prices and making different tiers, which is normal, but they are trying to add too much too quickly. The system cannot keep up with it. They do not follow up with their members to see what they like and what they don't like. The lower cost was no longer worth the headache that GlossGenius created for my business.

Pros

What I liked most about GlossGenius is that when I first started using it, it was really aesthetically pleasing. It was one of the lower-cost options, and at that point it was important to me that it was extremely affordable.

Cons

What I didn't like about GlossGenius is that the system was always "down". There were a lot of times that I couldn’t get in to see what clients I had for the day, or I couldn’t find their color formula because I couldn’t even log into the system. Every time they make an update, it seems to throw everything off. They were constantly changing the aesthetics of it.

I really love using GlossGenius for my business it's like having an assistant that not only helps with clients reminders but to keep in file every service, formula and products they purchase. It really has made my job so much easier.

### "Be a Boss with Gloss"

Overall, I am really enjoying Gloss. I love the convenience of the automated text. I also love that I am able to customize my features. It is very easy to navigate.

Pros

For me, I love that GlossGenius does the automated notifications for myself and for my clients. I have a hard time keeping up with that myself, so I appreciate that Gloss does it for me.

Cons

I wish there were more color options for my service items. There isn’t an option available for booking when room sharing. If there were an option for select services to allow for double booking(ie- if my roommate has a scheduled lash appointment , I can schedule hair appts during that time but my clients can not schedule lashes while she is lashing, that would be amazing.

I’m pleased 1000% I really love everything about Glossgenius. It’s very much needed and easy to use along with setting up your favorites.

Pros

Being able to allow my clients to book out as far as I like. I’m not always available to recieve calls or answer text messages.

Cons

Not being able to get money instantly. Honestly that’s not even a problem but if I have to really goose it would be the fees attached.

### "The absolute BEST"

I couldn’t use anything else! Simple to use for me & my clients, payments are very simple, plus the amount of options in this app helps a lot when starting a new business.

Pros

I have used many different apps before but Gloss Genius has been the best of the best. Very easy for me & my clients to use!

Cons

That they don’t have like a type of “salon scale” so I can track the amount of color I use. I had to purchase another subscription for that.

From scheduling and client management to payments and reporting, there’s truly nothing this software can’t do. I especially love that it integrates Google reviews, which helps boost my online presence, and offers Buy Now, Pay Later options for clients, making my services more accessible. It’s an all-in-one solution that has completely streamlined my workflow, and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Pros

What I absolutely love about this software is how simple it is for my clients to book! They don’t have to download an app or set up a profile—just log in, book, and they’re good to go. It’s super convenient, fast, and totally user-friendly!

Cons

Before Gloss Genius, I didn’t have a way to track my time or pay myself efficiently—but now I do, and I absolutely love it! Their new features have made managing my business so much easier.

### "2 + years and still going!"

I've had a very good experience with them thus far (2 years) and can't really find anything else to comment on! Always quick to fix hiccups & communicative.

Pros

Gloss Genius is the easiest software for beauty professional to use in my opinion. No spending weeks trying to smooth everything out, they make the transfer process beyond easy, though mine did take longer that my coworkers, it probably would have taken me 1000x times longer. Clients love that they don't need another password to remember and the reminder texts and emails aren't too much. Just enough reminders. I pay for the Gold service and have really enjoyed the mass text and email option - but don't like that you have to pay for more than 500 texts per month as they transferred all my clients from over ten years and it's a very long process to try and pick out the regulars or pay a big chunk to just send all. Appointment management and online booking and changes are easy on both mine and clients ends. There have been slight bug issues over the past few years but they are always beyond quick to get them fixed ASAP. I do not sell product so cannot comment on inventory personally, but i'm sure it's just as smooth as the rest.

Cons

My biggest complaint is really more so a bank issue than gloss genius but when the holidays align on Mondays or Tuesdays you won't get a pay out for 4-5 days straight so you have to pay the .10% fee which can be a lot of money if you have a big chunk sitting and need to pay bills.

Pros

Every client that uses it says it's extremely easy to use when booking their appointments. Not one of them has had an issue when booking appointments online.

Cons

There were some reports that I wish are available for statistics on services, such as how many of what service I did within a specific amount of time.

### "My clients love GG and so do I! "

I signed up when I first opened a suit because the provider next door had a GG sticker on her window and said she loved it. Best decision ever. Customer service is fantastic. Clients are obsessed. Business coach loves that I can pull analytics.

Pros

Gloss Genius is so easy for my clients and I to use! They roll out much needed new features quite often. The analytics allow me to reevaluate consistently for health of the business.

Cons

I wish my clients could shop for product to pick up in person from the website based on current inventory. I wish I had additional analytics per client/ticket that seperate evaluate retail for per ticket and service dollars per ticket seperately rather thank service dollars, tip dollars, and retail dollar per client being averaged together. Wish I could set pop up notes for clients when I click their appt and the ability to add a landing page pop up on the website to that has the capability to display a custom message and an image. It would also be great if GG had capability for discount codes where I could set the expiration date and the name of the code. I would love this as an in between membership from the Gold to the Platinum (which is way more than I need as an independent hairstylist). I'm saying I would be willing to pay extra for these features to be integrated.

Magnificent. I'm glad to be apart of the Gloss genius family. I have not really received any new clients from the site itself but my clients love that it is easy to maneuver through.

Pros

I love the layout format for both gold and regular plans. I love that they had forms we could use to make sure our clients were well aware of policies and that we were covered with color waivers. I also love the intake forms. I'm new to the loans but they have worked for me so far as well and I believe it is a plus for stylist who need to get ahead on some things.

Cons

I wish I had an area where I could sale products on the site. I am however able to go in myself and add a product to their checkout but I would love to have it available for them to purchase on site. With me being a Trichologist I focus on healing the body as a whole and offer affirmation/build me up packages for my clients.

I’ve had a great experience since 2019 and I will not be going to any other app. I’ve tried some others out just to see the difference.

Pros

I’ve been with you guys since 2019 and I’ve seen the app grow in some amazing ways. The pricing is great for all of the features you get.

Cons

It updates a lot! I appreciate the effort put in but the features change a lot. You go from regular features to gold level features.

Pros

I've never had an online booking service before and I'm so glad that I stuck with gloss genius as my first option. It is made managing my clients so much easier and they all love the option to book online with me as well.

Cons

There is only been a couple times when I've not been happy with the app when it was shut down for maintenance, which I think is understandable. Other than that, the only thing my clients complain about is that I can't customize exactly how many text message reminders. They each get some people love them and some people hate them.

I love using GlossGenius because it makes everything so simple and seamless for both myself and my clients. The platform is easy to navigate, which saves me time and gives my clients a smooth booking experience. I especially appreciate how well it handles packages and all the different features it offers to keep my business organized and professional. It truly takes the stress out of scheduling and managing my services, making it an essential tool for me and a great experience for my clients.

The only downside is that the app occasionally goes down, which can be a little inconvenient in the moment

Best website app ever . So easy to maneuver . My clients absolutely love how professional it is with the confirmation emails , texts and easy checkouts 🫶🏽

Pros

How it easy it is to start up and build my website. Everything is broken down step by step and beginner friendly.

Cons

The business hours . I don’t think I can wait it to where I can out I’ll work 10am-2pm and 5pm-7pm . It doesn’t allow me to split up my time . That would be perfect to add on there for availability purposes.

Pros

I love how convenient and user-friendly GlossGenius is. My clients always mention how easy it is to book appointments and view all the services I offer.

Cons

If I had to point out one downside, it would be the limited customization options for the website. While it’s clean and functional, I do wish there was a bit more flexibility to truly make it my own—whether that’s through layout choices, color palettes, or additional branding features. A little more creative freedom would make it feel more personal and aligned with my brand.

Overall my experience has been great! The price is affordable, everything is simple to use and it makes checking out and keeping up with appointments for both the stylist and customers easy. I love the reminders and the customer service was very helpful when needed as well.

Pros

I like how the website is easy to use for both client and business owner. Everything is easy to navigate to set up and book.

Cons

I wish, that in the basic subscription there were more than one theme to choose from. At least two to three options. Also don’t like how you can only choose dark for the display.
