November 25, 2021 5.0 It is an efficient platform with advanced collaboration tools. It allows me to keep track of the work teams I am in charge of and ongoing projects. It allows me to partner with colleagues from other branches of the company by chatting and sharing information on a permanent basis. Pros I like to-do lists because they allow for better tracking of all users. The level of task automation is important as it saves a lot of time and allows us to focus on other aspects of the project. I receive timely notifications of updates and modifications to tasks. I like being able to share screens with my colleagues and get diverse opinions. Cons It is a very well designed product, everything works very well and we have no complaints. Proudction Manager Broadcast Media Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Cirkus helps us get it done" March 20, 2026 5.0 Cirkus has brought consistency and transparency to our operations. As a manager, I'm able to see both what my team is doing, as well as the progress of those projects they are working on. We also use Cirkus to allow other departments request work from our Production Services and Marketing departments by filling out custom forms. This allows us to specify the information we need to complete their task by asking very specific questions before they are allowed to submit those request forms. This has sped up the process from initial request, through monitoring the progress of the project, to reporting completion and tracking resource utilization and costs. Cirkus helps us do what we do more effectively and with greater awareness of our resource availability and utilization. Hope to never go back to our pre-Cirkus world. Pros Cirkus has helped us refine our workflow among both our production team as well as across our different teams within the organization. It helps us visualize who is working on what and where we are with the progress. We also use Cirkus to schedule our resources including camera kits and gear, vehicles, edit bays, and people. Cons Because of the flexibility of Cirkus, we wind up having to build what we need from scratch. Luckily, the the idea of custom forms helps us to build these customizations relatively easily. Would love for the mobile versions of Cirkus to get some attention to ease the workflow on those platforms. Operations Manager Broadcast Media Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Efficient, Secure Workflow Management with Cirkus" February 2, 2026 5.0 The Media Access Charitable Trust, trading as Able, uses Cirkus to manage our freelancer workflow. It gives us the ability to easily communicate detailed information customised to our specific technical requirements. File transfer is quick, effortless and secure. Without a dedicated project-management tool, we would waste countless hours every week coordinating our processes, but thanks to Cirkus, it is easy and efficient. Pros It was a huge improvement and efficiency gain to move away from using Excel spreadsheets and Dropbox. It is very easy to customise your layout, view and to place filters on workflows in Cirkus. The tasks are simple to modify, adjust, delete or add if needed. Notifications are also able to be tailored, both within Cirkus and linking it to your email should you wish to receive email notifications as well. It is easy to communicate/make comments on tasks within Cirkus, which saves having email chains running in parallel. Our freelancers find using Cirkus quite straightforward. If there are any troubleshooting tickets to be raised with the software developers, this can be easily done within Cirkus, and we have found the staff to be helpful and responsive on the rare occasion a ticket needs to be raised. Cons We would be interested if there is a way for the system to pick up on near duplicates at the point of task creation, prior to allocation and completion. This would help us avoid double-handling and replication of resource, which has occurred from time to time. Alternatives considered [Cubix](https://www.capterra.com/p/158979/Cubix/) Reason for choosing Cirkus The statement of works for Cubix seemed promising, but at the time, the level of manual input meant there were no real efficiency gains when compared to the systems we had in production at the time. There are still lessons (and routines) to be learned and to get adapted by everyone, but I am very confident, that we will continue with our good experience. It's really cool to get in contact with the support team, who really try to help you or, if that spefic function is missing, write it on their feature request list and get back to you, when the feature is alive. Pros I believe there are two major things on Cirkus, why we have choosen it: 1) the deployment on iOS, Android, Mac and Web-Client, which work all very fine 2) True collaborative approach - the concept of working in a team is fundamental and well depolyed. The Zapier integration has also great potential, also we just have tested a little. Cons For our editing and grading workstations we're missing a function to easily switch the user. Like a user choice, just when opeining the app. And we're missing a synchronisation of time bookings /events with other calendars. December 2, 2021 5.0 This platform has made it possible to centralize the projects I manage and to monitor the progress of the projects and the work of my teams. It was recommended to me by a supplier of our company and when we tested it we were surprised by the acceleration of the workflow and the ability to automate tasks. Pros I like to receive notifications to keep track of the progress of each project. I like the task list that allows me to follow a coherent order of the tasks to be done. The group tasks have improved in performance, collaboration and dynamics. It allows me to work remotely and from my cell phone. However, I love the concept and feel that it would be great for someone needed straight forward project management - not to mention it is currently free. Pros it is a clean, simple project management application. Everything is geared toward project management and the system is super light. Very small learning curve. it also has "sub projects" which I love Cons It doesn't have task dependencies or subtasks. It is almost a bit too simple for some of the work I do. It's a good start, but we've maxed out what we can do with it. It could use a little more development to better match our needs. Pros We offer technical support to many school districts. We use the software to plan out summer projects and general tasks. The tasks lists are visible and can be edited by either us or school techs simultaneously. This allows for easy planning and task management. Everyone knows their tasks and role before arriving. Cons We also use this software for our HR processes. For these processes, there are tasks that need to be completed first before any subsequent tasks can be completed. It would be nice to be able to configure dependencies, where CirKus will progress with inviting others to the project or adding additional tasks to the project after certain tasks are completed. Examples being repeating bookings and easy scheduling for administrators. Pros The interface was very user friendly and easy to navigate as a user. Cons It could have been the way we setup our trail, but it was very hard to navigate and get the booking/task we were looking for. In our company we have the same project margins frequently, so I can just apply the templates for incoming projects. Cons I would love have a folder structure overview just like in the mac finder app, where I could see all subfolders in different boxes side by side. This is because I create almost as many subprojects as tasks, so it would be very helpful to me.
