Pros: Although it is a software designed for the area of architecture is really flexible I think it is a positive experience to be able to implement it to make animated renderings of vehicles in the city and be able to model in other software and then move to lumion to realize the realistic render graphic project, their results are very good.

Cons: Being a program designed for architecture I had to adapt to their options and tools, some actions and tasks that I would like to perform are not possible since it is not designed for tasks related to animation with special effects or industrial or graphic design.

Overall: I think it works correctly, you manage to realize very realistic and very professional animation projects, it allows you to import files and that is very important, the tools and commands are very nice to work with.

Pros: Easy to use, solid performance, great renders and extreme fast render times. I use Lumion from the very start of the designing process, and constantly switch between Archicad and Lumion. I show the renders to my clients, or share them on social media in every stage of the process. It's fun working with Lumion and it really gives my designing process a boost.

Cons: Importing external materials (and their respective channels) could be better. It would be nice if all channels could be adjusted directly from within Lumion without a Photoshop detour.

Overall: A lot of great support and from all clients and people I work with. And I have control over my artist impressions, without the need for external visualization firms. And the designing process is much more fun working in a real-time environment.

Pros: Really amazing results as animations, it allows you to import files made in other software and you can complement with the available tools of Lumion to add a very professional look, includes a series of preset styles ideal for different environments, climate, interior, exterior, account with a range of very realistic characters.

Cons: The demands of the software are incredibly high, you need to have a high-end team capable of doing a lot of work so you can support the creation of the animation, the more complex the project and the more detail the design requires, the program will take longer to perform the render of the animation.

Overall: After designing the plans and the 3d model of a furniture it is necessary that we can show its possibilities within an architectural environment, Lumion is an ideal tool for that stage of the work since by means of an animation a complete presentation of the design can be made and its details, color, material and use.

Pros: It changed the way I tackle visualization, it is now easier to start renderings from the very beginning of the design process and use them to make design decisions and update them over and over.

When you are done with the design you can finish the polished version of the renderings.

Cons: I guess the main thing I dislike is the fact that you cant use more than one computer to render in a network. Also you cant use the software in more than one computer at the same time.

Overall: Using Lumion it is very easy to keep happy clients, any last minute changes doesn't take hours to process removing from the equation any additional services request to the client.

Lumion also changed the way I write proposals, before, or when using traditional ray trace renderings, we would quote per image. Now with Lumion I think about it as scenes. Doing 1 or 3 renderings of the same scene is fairly easy.

Clients love this approach.

Lumion gives our company the ability to produce very quick quality renders and animations.

Pros: The speed of Lumion producing the wished output is tremendous. The effects stack presets are very welcome option.

Cons: The price is quite steep. User is not able to input his own render dimensions and it's not possible to seperate a face (or faces) from an object and attach another material/texture/color to it(them).

Overall: The ever so demanding clients asking us to show them almost instantly some renderings. Lumion helps us with that.

I have a very positive experience with Lumion. It's intuitive and really fast.

Pros: I love how fast it is and how big areas it is possible to render. We did several projects where we needed to render whole cities, or city areas and I don't know of any software that would make it faster then Lumion.

Cons: There is no versions for Mac. I work in a small advertising agency and iOS is the system of choice for both us and many others in design/advertising/photo industry. I have all of my stuff and resources on the Mac, so moving it back and forth to PC when I need to use Lumion is a big pain.

Overall: I get the job done extremely quick. With no previous 3D experience I was able to learn Lumion in the matter of hours and it generated first income in the matter of days. We had a project with 3D elements in it and with extremely short deadline . I don't know of any other software that would allow us to make it done so fast (both thinking about how easy it was to start using and rendering times of complicated structures). I love the "what you see I what you get" aspect of it, and that you see it in real-time, without wasting time to pre-render things.

Lumion has a clear and distinct advantage when it comes to speed, a feature often neglected.

Pros: This has been the most significantly positive change to our workflow recently. With ease, we're able to produce visualizations for architects and engineers. Finally it's extremely easy to use, requiring minimal training.

Cons: At first we were concerned that there would be a high cost to this massive speed advantage. However we realized applications were well worth the cost and the value was immediately apparent.

Pros: - virtual walkthroughs

- lifelike sceneries and materials

- user friendly

- easy to load model

- the variety of items, material, scenes, furniture, etc. to load in your project

Cons: It has gotten a lot better with evert update. It can be slow sometimes but that's normal depending on the size of your model and video graphics card.

Overall: Overall I enjoy using Lumiin with Revit because it allows me to create better realistic like walkthroughs than Revit alone. I use both programs in my BIM course, which students love to use.

Pros: Lumion revolutionize the visualization process for the modern designers. Streamline the trickiest rendering elements such as landscape, water, and animated objects into a seamless, simple workflow. Working in landscape architecture, you get to now focus on your design and less on thinking about what it might look like in real life.

Cons: Further customization at the level of types of leaves, trunks, colors of flowers would be helpful.

In my work as an architect I have found Lumion extremely useful as a visualisation tool.

Pros: Two features stand out:

First: You get results really fast. From sketchup model to production quality images takes only a minimal amount of setting up.

Second: It allows for tweaking in the model -while working on the final images.

Cons: The software is set up to work without menus and tabs.

This gives you a clean working environment focused on the end result without endless tabs and ribbons such as in office or adobe software. A lot of functions are 'hidden' and it takes a little bit of searching where certain functions or buttons are.

Overall: Lumion made making visualisations really easy and fast. Normally it would take me and my team a week to get to production quality results. With lumion we could cut it down to a single day- and we could not only make still images but animations as well.

Pros: Lumion let's me make edits to projects and visualize them instantly. I can rework a project and then have presentation ready renders in the same day. This is great for saving time and communicating ideas with clients.

Cons: Lumion works as a standalone program that once you import your 3d model into it, you cannot edit the 3d model. If there was a way of linking in realtime the edits from Rhino to Lumion that would be great! However, they do have this feature, "LiveLink" for Sketchup and Revit.

Overall: Fast results!

Cons: It is centered around architecture industry. As I am an industrial engineer who has worked on software involving 3D factory, I wish it has those features too!

Pros: For architectural rendering, the program is really good about allowing you to set up scenes and get lots of renderings out fast. We used it a lot to do multiple renderings of different design options early on in SD.

Cons: The other program we use in our office is Vray. The materials in Vray are much easier to get right. Whenever we did Lumion renderings, there was always a slight cartoonish-ness to the actual buildings.

Overall: For fast renderings, especially early on, Lumion is great. Additionally, the plants and trees render fantastically. The only downside is the potentially cartoonish nature of the final product. We have found that some materials do this more than others, but it's hard to know which will work without a lot of wasted time doing test renders.

Pros: It has good tools for the development of the design department, its rendering time is very good, it has a great variety of templates and predesigned objects that you can easily use

Cons: The cost of the full version is very high, you need to have a large RAM because the program is very heavy and runs slow. the option to undo is usually a problem

Overall: We could say that it is a great tool for the design and reality of plans, it has great tools for performance in architecture. You just need a good processor

Pros: I love that this in several languages, it is very easy to make changes, download the demo and love it !. The 3D camera is very easy to use, and have a variety of textures to use, both indoors and outdoors.

Cons: The interface is not very intuitive, it is a little complicated to find what you need quickly.
