### " Easy to use but pricing is too much for me"

December 27, 2018

5.0

Lumion is very easy to use software as I mentioned above. When I was a beginner to Lumion I have used their video tutorials in their own website and use Youtube to learn a lot and I was able to learn it so quickly. Lumion save me a lot of time with their object library. They have cool object collection.

Pros

I used Lumion to render Architectural scenes it was super cool and easy to use. Lumion is very strong at below points. -Easy to use (Very user-friendly User Interfaces and tutorials) -Speed (It is a real-time render so you don’t need wait to render your scenes) -Camera Controls (We can handle the camera very easily and can make walk-through videos very easily and you don’t need more training) -It has good objects and environment library, you don’t need to model every object

Cons

Lumion has some bad cases too which are I faced when I’m using it -Pricing (Lumion Pro is very expensive ) -Even it has quick rendering it is running slowly and you need good RAM for use this -Updates (When you get a new update of Lumion does not update current software itself it should install as a whole new software ) -Output videos are too large

### "Avis personnel"

February 20, 2024

3.0

Reason for choosing Lumion

simple d'utilisation pour un rendu que je pensais meilleur que ces concurrents

### "Not for the faint-hearted PCs, "

October 23, 2022

5.0

Pros

For any landscape or exterior or interior architecture work, photorealism is a great challenge for architects to present details of the design work to the client. Starting from the Autocad to the Sketchup than to the Lumion GPU is now a pretty straightforward process. Its ability to sync your design(basically camera /aspect an so on.) in multiple screens is key aspect of the software. Ability to get your topography from openstreetmaps is amazing. Recent updates bring some enhancements including Height Maps which show streets in relation to topology.

Cons

Is it really as in it's motto: "Beautiful Renders within Reach"? Not anymore with the latest iterations. Spec requirements are going far beyond reach for mainstream users. It takes a lot of time to get proper renders. And for large landscaping areas or citiscaping renders it requires a lot of time. I think the company should provide online subscription-based GeForceNow-like cloud rendering capabilities for users.

### "Lumion Review"

February 18, 2023

5.0

Pros

The 3D rendering software helps in bringing projects to life, 360 degree panoramas, and visualization in general. Exterior renders work better on Lumion.

Cons

Complex projects take too long to process and make the softwares lag. Higher RAMs are required. Interior renders are better on V Ray.

### "If you think rendering is a chore, Try Lumion, as easy as it comes!"

December 13, 2021

5.0

Pros

As long as your device meets the requirements of the application, the rendering time is almost as fast as you can imagine.

Cons

It comes at a price, not a lot of mid range devices can run it. It is definitely an elite software.

### "Life saver for architects."

November 9, 2022

5.0

It's a life saver.

Pros

It has given flexibility at its best to make presentations without much skill and knowledge in comparison to the 3D max and it’s day-by-day sound and strong.

Cons

Need to get more depth in renders. The material library needs to get more realistic.

### "Lumion VS. others"

September 18, 2023

5.0

I think i will always use lumion in any project as it's by far the best.

Pros

I believe that the best feature is that it's very easy to use unlike the other 3D programs much as 3D max. in Lumion you don't need an actual course to learn it as you can work on it by practice time after time. It gives you a very realistic view of how the vibe or the design would be in real life

Cons

I think that more textures should be added and more background and city views should be found there rather than just a typical US city. They can for instance take a shot from cities for the middle east as we are working on it constantly in our projects here.

### "Realistic Rendering Software"

April 30, 2020

5.0

My experience with lumion has been an era of realistic 3d rendering production , fast, with good quality and easy to learn

Pros

I do my modeling on Revit and use revit to also render until I learnt about Lumion, from a friend, lumion is easy to learn through it friendly user-interface,I have had a more quality, realistic rendering outputs, the materials in lumion library are numerous with great 3d environment picture output , I now prefer lumion for my animations, walkthrough videos, it really presentable, my clients loves my pictures, thanks to lumion.

Cons

I would have love to do all my drawings from 2d to 3d modelling then render on lumion but lumion can only be used to render so I still use my revit and import my models to lumion to render to have my job done, i think the software would be smarter if we can do all the modelling works including render, but nevertheless lumion is the best for my realistic render and it's very fast

Pros

This software is very easy to use as compared to the other rendering softwares. It provides just like a real environment in the scenes. A Vast material library is also a plus point of this software

Cons

A High Performance System is required to run this software. Otherwise too much time consuming if the system has a low graphic cards.

### "Super fast renderings"

June 5, 2020

4.0

Super fast rendering, you do not loose alot of time.

Pros

Fast rendering, very nice interface, it is fun, and feels bit like some kind of an upgraded gaming engine for architectural visualisation.

Cons

The rendering feel bit like a videogame, 3D connexion mouse does not work properly and let the program crash in a strange way (just automaticaly let the camera spin and you can not stop it unless you restart the program)

### "One of the best tools for architects for photorealistic project representations"

February 4, 2023

4.0

Lumion is the best photorealistic architecture software I have ever tested. Not only does Lumion provide professional-level results, but it also makes it easy for newbies to jump in and start creating beautiful 3D designs. Whether you’re a skilled architect or just someone who has been given a floor plan, Lumion is an excellent choice for bringing your creations to life.

Pros

One of the primary reasons for Lumion’s success is its simplicity and intuitiveness of use. Its intuitive menu structure makes it easy to learn the basics in no time at all. Plus, with an array of tools at your disposal such as real-time editing, advanced lighting effects, and beautiful materials – you can get started creating beautiful visuals in minutes! The ability to import models of buildings created with other software further enhances Lumion's usability.

Cons

At the graphics rendering level, there are competitive graphics engines that provide greater realism and performance. Unreal Engine 5 is one of these engines that is pushing the boundaries of what computer-generated imagery can offer.

### "Powerful rendering tool- Lumion"

February 10, 2019

5.0

Overall, Lumion is the most powerful rendering tool to make animations with innovation to impress the clients and colleagues for Engineering professionals.

Pros

When it comes to rendering, I always preferred Lumion. I familiarised with the Lumion during my final year project demonstration and it ended with the big round of applause. The detailing available in the Lumion is very handy and useful. The Library available for Lumion is very large and it is very useful when we create animations, data import and export, landscape design etc.

Cons

The big cons in Lumion is time consumption during a large rendering end product. It needs to be improved in the upcoming versions. Pricing for this software also a little bit high when comparing other markets available software.

### "Lumion"

May 9, 2019

5.0

It is best software for rendering I have ever seen before. What ever the landscape, finishing we can made .

Pros

Lumion is used for rendering works which mostly architecture and civil engineers use this products. We can import completed sketchup files and Ravit files. Lot of tools are available which makes easy and understand. we can render with high quality materials and very acttrative. Water effects , lightning, night mode, sun rise and sun set are also available. Vehicles and peoples movement can be done.

Cons

When we rendering machine gets strucks and go slowy , It is needed high performance lap top. We have to learn properly to use all facilities. It is not freely available , should be paid.

### "Great software with lots of potential, hindered by repeated releases with little to no improvement."

November 1, 2020

4.0

I used to use Lumion a couple years back because it let you create stunning images on low end hardware, with an awesome speed. Now that I have access to multi-GPU machines, I find myself needing it less and less. Unless they improve it a lot of key areas like the ones I mentioned before. Specially Ray Tracing Support. Which is where the Archviz Industry is headed.

Pros

It is fast to deliver a good looking image, the material Library is great and a lot of the 3D assets are good quality. It is intuitive to use without need of tutorials or training.

Cons

It needs improvement in a lot of Areas: -the UI looks and works dated. There have been almost no improvements to it. -The majority of the 3D Assets look dated. -There are artifacts and flickering 90% of the time when exporting animations. -There is no Ray Tracing, for this price of software that is unacceptable. -No Ctrl-Z function. -No Multi-GPU Support. -No realtime VR Support. -Very expensive.

### "Amazing renders done quickly. This software takes the waiting out of doing renders"

June 18, 2018

5.0

Pros

Ease of use and the ability to integrate into workflow quite easily. You can produce way faster than with traditional rendering softwares

Cons

There is no edit feature inside of the program and the working area is limited to 2km to 2km making working with large landscapes difficult

### "One of the best tools for architectural projects"

April 11, 2021

5.0

The software is one of the best on the market, it is very complete and realistic, it has several features and a very great realism, it is a little expensive software and requires very robust hardware but these problems are often solved with the benefits that software has, it is very good software and very well accepted in the market

Pros

LumiOn has a very good learning curve as it is easy to learn and has very intuitive tools. The software has the possibility to render both images and animations and this is very good compared to the competitors. LimiOn's library of native resources is great, very diverse, varied and almost complete.

Cons

Lumion's internal renders are not always good and require a lot of study. The price of the software is relatively high and does not offer a license for students, besides being a little expensive it requires a machine that is very robust which made the use of the software even more expensive. Finally, the mirror reflections in the software could improve a little more, when using a mirror the reflection is great and does not present any problem, when more mirrors are placed, sometimes it can present some reflection problems.

### "Easiest Rendering software"

August 3, 2020

4.0

Pros

Lumion has a very simple interface to use. It provides great easy features for rendering like adding objects, lights, furniture, people etc. that do not affect the programs’ speediness. Changing the environmental conditions, weather and landscape, is easy to accomplish and interesting for the over whole rendering result without spending hours to do it. Photo and video rendering is much faster in lumion than any other software, which is very important especially when fast results are needed. Photo rendering effects (shadows, contrast, reflection, water…) create a more realistic render without difficulties and video rendering features are easy to use and give a remarkable outcome.

Cons

Lumion navigation is a bit hard and library could be richer in content and quality improved.

### "a great product to help Sell 3D designs "

July 16, 2020

5.0

so far it helps send the design aspects to the clients with min rendering time and even night time veiws

Pros

what i like it its easy to use compared to using Vray in sketch up or other plug ins. Lumion is its own program, you build you model in Sketch up then import it to Lumion, after that you pull in the model you can add trees people and effects like water moving. render it for views, or even what i like is make a panorama 360 view for VR goggles or even just upload it to Lumion Site and send it to clients to view easily.

Cons

a huge price difference between the Pro and normal version some items you think that should be in the basic is only available on the Pro version and that costs almost $1,400 more. also a lot of trees and plants, and rendering options only in pro even live street views

### "Same day renders!"

September 6, 2018

5.0

Fast results!

Pros

Lumion let's me make edits to projects and visualize them instantly. I can rework a project and then have presentation ready renders in the same day. This is great for saving time and communicating ideas with clients.

Cons

Lumion works as a standalone program that once you import your 3d model into it, you cannot edit the 3d model. If there was a way of linking in realtime the edits from Rhino to Lumion that would be great! However, they do have this feature, "LiveLink" for Sketchup and Revit.

### "Lumion for fast rendering "

July 17, 2021

4.0

It is a great rendering software for quick jobs, and very good to use in your university career, but i prefer to use other software like v-ray because you can get better results

Pros

Lumion is great for fast renders without a lot of detail you can get good results in relation to the time you spend, it is a easy software that you can learn quickly watching free tutorials.

Cons

You need a pc with good specifications otherwise it doesn't work properly, also it's hard to make hyper-realistic renders with this software
