Pros Incredibly easy to produce high quality, visually attractive 3d modelling of models produced in both AutoCAD and SketchUp. Cons Slight learning curve at first as this software works differently from conventional modelling software, however it is straight forward after a short time. Cons It really does require a beastly GPU and processor, so make sure you have the right hardware! Pros This is unbelievable growth of a software in the AEC industry. Few years an engineer or architect need to do years of hard work to come up to a basic 3D model. But now with the help from sketching software and this giant lumion we are able to show the future to the clients in few hours. The street map option is the most likable option in this software. Because we actually don't need to buildup the environment separately anymore. One word for lumion is WOW. Cons Comparatively costlier. But its worth for every single money we spent. It's a great tool for 3D Animation and really good quality renderings. There are lots of in-built tools and components and it also has an in-built library of different materials and everyday objects. Pros the most I like about Lumion is easy to use and very friendly for beginner user so it doesn't take to long to learn about the software. Lumion has a great library of resources that save you time and effort of finding and importing most assets. Cons Lumion is a heavy software, where you need specifically good specs for your computer if you want to run the software smoothly. If you haven't tried other rendering softwares (or they weren't architecture specific), the learning curve of Lumion is quite steep. It was amazing the quality of Renderings that I could get from using this software. Previously, I was exporting views and editing on my own in Photoshop. Lumion made it so much easier by producing great quality images right out of the model. I would highly recommend trying Lumion if you are in a design profession and have not done so already. Pros I love the fact that there are already a few pre designed templates of different scenery’s that I can import my own building to use in that pre designed landscape and similar for renderings settings. I found it quite easy to import my models to the site. Cons When I first opened the app with no previous experience at all, I was a bit lost and confused on what to do but after a mini lesson from a friend and a few tutorial, I began to get the hang of using the software. May 8, 2018 5.0 Lumion made making visualisations really easy and fast. Normally it would take me and my team a week to get to production quality results. With lumion we could cut it down to a single day- and we could not only make still images but animations as well. Pros Two features stand out: First: You get results really fast. From sketchup model to production quality images takes only a minimal amount of setting up. Second: It allows for tweaking in the model -while working on the final images. Cons The software is set up to work without menus and tabs. This gives you a clean working environment focused on the end result without endless tabs and ribbons such as in office or adobe software. A lot of functions are 'hidden' and it takes a little bit of searching where certain functions or buttons are. Review Source Raun T. This really lets us focus on what really matters to the stakeholder. Pros This software works with Revit and Sketchup with active link so you don't have to set your project up every time you import. It's amazing how fast you can turn out a rendering or even an animation. This has really impressed our client/owners. Pros The rendering looks great in this software. Easy to import sketchup models onto software, and then modify the textures, lights, and other required warehouse items. The different rendering options are great too. Cons For me, incorporating the lights on to the model was a bit hard.
