### "Nuclino for the Weirdos "

July 25, 2023

5.0

I am looking to jump start several businesses and writing projects in collaboration and individually. Nuclino has provided a way for me to share and organize my information seamlessly and skillfully. Although I am just an average joe, I feel more productive and professional while using Nuclino. I think it is a good platform for anyone who is striving to create an impact in the world.

Pros

I enjoy the user friendly interface and the simplicity of the project creation and sharing process.

Cons

So far, I will say it was a little difficult to understand how to create an outline at first. This is my only con and it really does not detract from all the pros of the platform.

Switched from

[Google Docs](https://www.capterra.com/p/160756/Google-Docs/)

I found that Google docs was not something that everyone outside of a professional setting would know how to use. The folders and subfolders make it feel more like an office meeting rather than a collaborative process. It seemed very rigid to me, which is not something I want my collaborators to struggle with when creating. I feel like every person has a purpose and not being able to efficiently use a platform should not keep us from acheiving our goals.

### "Delightful markdown handling and a straightforward UI. Scaling nicely, too."

November 4, 2024

5.0

Very pleased. I have shared a few emails with the \[sensitive content hidden\] and was pleased to get some feedback on the feature ideas that I shared. It's a likeable tool and one has the feeling that it's put together by a team that care. I'm already known as the dorky research guy at work so I have been recommending it to a couple of our associated non-profits!

Pros

I discovered Nuclino after searching for a wiki/notepad/knowledge base tool storing LLM outputs that I've been capturing both for personal use and for work. Because LLMs tend to output as markdown, seamless markdown handling was a top requirement. I initially used Obsidian for this purpose but quickly realised that for the knowledge repository to have any use (ie, for me to read the outputs I was storing) convenient mobile access was a must. Others were clearly intended for use in the business context / as teams and as a passionate but solo user, the features didn't make sense for my use-case. The the main challenge: it was surprisingly difficult to find a tool that: a) had the kind of seamless markdown handling Obsidian offers and which b) could handle my import of notes. Although 3K doesn't seem like a huge "wiki" to me, it simply overwhelmed a couple of systems I tried. I found it hard to believe that any knowledge management tool could crumble under what seems to me like a fairly modest volume. Nuclino has presented zero problems in that respect so far - neither in loading times nor in indexing performance. Everything saves pretty much instantly and I haven't had any difficulty in retrieving saved items via search. In other words, it provides the level of performance that I've long been accustomed to with tools like Google Drive. The import process was straightforward with one exception: it didn't like some of the non-standard markdown syntax which Obsidian adds. So a word of warning to users making the same migration: consider running your notes through standardisation process before importing. I got ChatGPT to write me up a quick Python script and it did the job! Nuclino had the most fluid markdown handling out of the box of any of the tools I tried and I instantly like that it didn't try to be too "clever". A lot of tools in the knowledge management space try to bring users along on a complicated system. I liked that Nuclino got out of the way and leaved me to do all I wanted it to do: give me a nice and fluid notepad to save outputs, edit them, and read them. I also like that some thought has been put into the data export feature (I'll come to backups below). I initially thought that the archives didn't contain an index but was happy to stand corrected. You get your files back too. I wish I could say that this was standard, but quite a few SaaS tools forget to liberate large parts of the user's data footprint. It's nice to see that Nuclino offers a data export tool that does what it promises. It's also good to see that they're adding features (public workspaces were announced today). The UI is minimalist, but not static. For anyone who appreciates markdown editing and wants a cloud experience that can mirror those in some of the local-only tools, I would say this is a great place to start.

Cons

Not Nuclino-specific, but the only reason I ever self-host (and avoid SaaS) is because I'm hesitant to fully hand off control of my data, especially when it's either sensitive or business-related. I was hoping to be able to use the API to extract data, but I couldn't coerce it into doing that. Some of the other tools I looked at had richer APIs which explicitly supported this purpose. On the plus side, Nuclino does let you export your workspace as a Zip. So with a bit of scripting, I was able to achieve my objective of having a cloud backup of my data in a roundabout way (I just need to remember to pull down the zip once a week).

Reason for choosing Nuclino

I ran into issues importing notes into Outline. Nuclino handled the import process fluidly.

While I appreciate the power and flexibility that Obsidian offers (and I wasn't looking forward to migrating my notes), I needed a tool that was readily accessible from a web UI.

### "Nuclino would be best in small group environments"

November 24, 2025

3.0

Overall experience has been so-so. Again, not super user friendly, and while the open structure is nice, it is almost too open when you have many people using it.

Pros

Nuclino is a nice place for the entire company to share ideas and task instructions. Think of it as an opportunity to save all of your instructions for tasks in the same place, easily accessible to all.

Cons

Nuclino is great in theory, however it was not easy to get all of our team onboard. I also find that Nuclino links don't seem to work unless you are already logged in.

November 27, 2025

Hi Dana, thanks for sharing your feedback. Nuclino is designed as an internal team collaboration tool, but you can make individual items accessible without login by sharing them publicly, and you can publish entire workspaces when broader access is needed. We'd love to learn more about what would have made it easier to onboard your team. If you're open to sharing more details, feel free to reach out at contact@nuclino.com.

### "Great product for a Small / Medium Business"

August 12, 2022

4.0

This is a great product for the free version and used with small teams, sharing information is easy and presents a solution to off-site collaboration.

Pros

We really enjoy this solution, it's very easy to use and practically works like our internal database. We are also able to link external documents for easy sharing. These features really enhance the company's real-time collaboration. Since this is an easy tool, we expend very little time training our partners.

Cons

One thing that they can improve is the formatting tools, some variety is needed to have a pleasant UX.  If the company grows and uses more space this tool suffers, we only recommended for medium or small databases.  Pricing can be expensive if you use it with large teams.

### "great easy to use project management tool"

March 15, 2023

5.0

I enjoyed trying out the tool, and am bow considering making it my main solution for project management. I like the cKean interface, it may not have all the functionalities other tools have, but that makes it faster to learn and more efficient.

Pros

Simple yet powerful interface. No bells and whistles that could distract the user or make you spend hours understanding how it works. It's quite intuitive and I like the fact that you can organize your project in a folder and sunflowers way, plus have an overview as a mindmap.

Cons

Would be nice to localize the software in other common languages for non English speakers. Also to easily create progression status for tasks, in a native manner ?

### "Great place for your wikis!"

February 10, 2025

4.0

Overall our experience was really good, we were able to take full advantage of the tool and it improved the way internal information was shared within our team.

Pros

It proved to be a convenient way to have our company's wikis stored and accessible for the team. We were able to build a library for our coworkers to easily access and review at their convenience.

Cons

Some of our users struggled with finding some of the information in the way it got sorted within the app. For everyday use regarding project management, it was a little less intuitive than other potential tools.

### " Efficient and Simple, but Could Use a Few More Features"

November 4, 2024

4.0

Nuclino has been a fantastic tool for organizing ideas and collaborating with others in a minimalistic environment. While it could benefit from a few more advanced editing controls, it does a great job as a quick, easy-to-use knowledge management tool.

Pros

Nuclino is quick to respond and makes it incredibly easy to create and manage content. The simplicity of its interface and the intuitive design allow you to organize information seamlessly, which is great for teams or individuals looking for a straightforward tool to manage knowledge.

Cons

Splitting items into workspaces can sometimes feel a bit confusing, especially if you're managing multiple projects or groups. Additionally, it lacks some advanced editing features, like a "find and replace" function, which would be useful for larger documents.

### "Use of Nuclino for Engineering Documentation"

December 20, 2021

5.0

I have started working with Nuclino on the design of an electric racecar. Here, we were asked to document all of our design steps in Nuclino, from the conceptual design to the actual calculations. I had quite some difficulties with some programs used within the team, but with Nuclino, everything was so simple. Creating new items and writing was really intuitive, as well as the integration of screenshots and how the dimensions of an image can be adapted automatically to look best within the document. As I have had such a positive experience, I proposed using Nuclino to the team I am in charge of now. Here we design drones for societal benefits, and we use Nuclino for all of our documentation. This documentation includes design choices, as well as python plots, or screenshots from softwares, or softwares setup guides. As we have divided the design in subdepartments, Nuclino also makes it easy to check everything that is being written in each subdepartment. There are multibple ways of seeing how the documentation is organised - a plain table, or a graph. We use Slack for communication, and Nuclino integrates nicely, so that notifications are carried across two platforms.

Pros

The main benefit of Nuclino is its ease of use. We switched from OneNote to Nuclino because OneNote was not intuitive nor easy to organise. Nuclino is easy to organise, so that documentation can be easily grouped, and new items are added simply by clicking on a plus. It is also very easy to add images (using ctrl C even) as well as making tables, and it supports many apps integrations. We use Teams, and we integrated it well. The possibility to make comments on items also increases the thought sharing process within the team. Nuclino also has a much more pleasant user interface than any other site I have used. Another useful feature is the math integration: simple calculations in maths can be directly solved in Nuclino, by writing the operation and then inserting the = sign - and Nuclino will automatically give the result! This is useful to us when we are showing our raw thought process - everything is clear and connected.

Cons

We mainly use Nuclino for documentation, therefore there are no missing apps integrations as of now, however it could be useful if we could integrate Excel as well - for now only Google Sheets can be used.

### "One of the best for product management!"

April 26, 2023

5.0

My team and I have been using Nuclino for some time now, and since we're in the game development industry, Nuclino I would have to say is best for game design documents (GDDs) and critical note taking and research. So far with my experience personally, I haven't anything really bad to say about Nuclino; its functionality for me is 10/10; as I said in the con's though, its a little bit expensive for the premium features so make sure you can afford it!That being said, its great for teams and studios of any size so I highly recommend!

Pros

\> Easy to use!> Quick to learn its functionality> Able to invite team members as admins or viewers> Content is really easy to organise> Free trial not too limiting> Adding users to moderate/edit the Nuclino pages is not too expensive> Can tag/hyperlink to other tabs on the same Nuclino page (as well as tag users).> Multiple available integrations, such as Google Drive and Microsoft Teams.

Cons

\> Price is a LITTLE dare on the premium version; make sure you or your team can afford it, especially if you want to add multiple users to the workspace.> Mobile version is a little buggy/glitchy. My experience with the bugs was that when I was checking off a checklist, the spacing between the lines went spastic, and made that page very unorganised, so I recommend the computer version over the mobile one until that's fixed.

Great, but we switched for ClickUp doc as better value for price. Thought I miss your comment+notification system very much.

Pros

### "A powerful yet simple to use knowledge management tool"

August 9, 2023

5.0

Nuclino is valuable tool either you are working alone or with a team as it fulfills the need to have all your information from SOPs to metting minutes and all sorts of documents organized and easily accessible.

Pros

When juggling several projects and gathering substantial amounts of information from various sources and collaborators, it can become overwhelming fairly quickly. Nuclino offers the tools to organize, map, and manage all your content, enabling you to navigate visually through it. This way, you can focus on the areas that require the most attention. The AI sidekick and integrations with the most common tools are a definite plus.

Cons

It takes a while to get used to the workflows of the platform but after getting used and define a workflows the work gets streamlined.

### "A great company wiki"

August 28, 2018

5.0

Visualization of various knowledge graphs as well as check lists.

Pros

What I liked the most about Nuclino was the ability to work visually. It's really helpful to be able to structure data in a mind map rather than a list. The real-time collaborative editor helps me work efficiently with my remote team members. Really happy about the release of a Slack integration. Was pleasantly surprised when I started using the tool. Our team needed an easy-to-use wiki/knowledge base to keep track of our projects, store documentation, and collaborate and so far we've been pretty happy with Nuclino.

Cons

Nothing I can think of, it accomplished everything we would expect from a team wiki.

### "Very flexible project documentation tool"

September 13, 2018

5.0

I use Nuclino to document the projects I work on. It serves as a wiki for the project which helps anyone joining the project at later stages understand what was done during the design process, and why certain decisions were made. It is definitely a big step up from using Google Docs and Google Sheets which gets very messy during the course of a project.

Pros

The way Nuclino is built makes the platform very flexible towards the way you work. The software's very generous free tier lets you explore all the main features. You can even have unlimited teams within the free tier, within which you can have unlimited workspaces. You can think of workspaces as 'projects'. You can then create clusters (think: folders) and items (think: pages). There are 4 views within a workspace: All, Recent, Board and Graph, which is what makes the application great. The Board view is very similar to a Kanban board that even lets you drag and drop 'items' between 'clusters'. Nuclino also has apps for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux.

Cons

I felt that the only missing piece to this platform was the inability to set reminders.

It became the center of information of my company.

Pros

I created a digital marketing agency, and all the toolkits, customer information, and the "cookbook" of how to do our work is in Nuclino. Currently I'm using only the free plan, but definitely, the paid subscription also worth the cost. It has a web app, android app, windows app, and even Linux app! Can't complain. The interface is clean and it's very very easy to use. You can upload files, links, images, etc.
