June 5, 2018 5.0 It has allowed me to present my photographs and various graphic works. Pros It allows to commercialize photos, albums, calendars, graphic material in general. It has a variety of publishers that allow a wide variety of options that meet the needs in our shopping routes. It contains ready-to-use templates, applications for smartphones and endless options that make work easier. Cons It is basically designed for photographic products, if the market were a little wider it would be more attractive for the users. Review Source NC Niall C. CEO Photography Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Print35.com implementation on Printbox" April 15, 2025 4.0 Overall, its both an elegant solution and also sometimes a confusingly mad solution in the backend. As a developer in my past life, I can totally understand why the solution in the backend is so database and fields driven - it allows for a lot of flexibility in rolling out products with very little development, just configuration. But it is completely confusing for a product administrator who hasn't a strong technical background. The team are very enthusiastic and super helpful - which overcomes much of the challenges. So, overall we would recommend the product and the solution, but be prepared to do a lot of homework during the implementation and be prepared to either have a dedicated resource internally to build out the products or to give it all over the Printbox to do. Also, we had a Web Developer on our client team - and he found that he could do a lot of the look and feel of the website himself, but there is a challenge sometimes where the Printbox Solution sits on top of Shopware and that in some circumstances this integration made customising the website more complicated than one would have expected. Then again, at other times, changes were made easier. But fundamentally, the team of people within Printbox is what makes the difference here - every solution out there has technical challenges, it's the team of people working with you that makes the project work, or not... Pros An exceptional wide range of functionality in the Photo printing realm - but the ability to sell non-photo products (such as cameras, film etc) in the same website is a real added bonus. Sales process was very professional, good interaction between their sales team and the product team to let us know what's available and possible lent a good level of confidence for our selection process. Their implementation team is committed and gave us as much or as little help as we needed, depending on us to guide them in how much we wanted to do vs their team. They have a wide range of clients already on-line, so have good experience of how to approach solutions. Cons We did find that the amount of content (templates) etc didn't necessarily tie up with what was mentioned during the sales process. For a big company implementation with a dedicated graphics team to design content for e,g, backgrounds for books, cards etc - that isn't an issue. For a smaller team like this, it meant we didn't go live with as wide a range of designs as we thought we would - but it still was more than sufficient. It did seem at times that we had to "reinvent the wheel" - items we were surprised that hadn't been implemented before. I think that having a "best practices" champion internally across the product range in PB would be a good role to fill - and that they would then work with the Client and Implementation Team to apply best practices from other implementations. We felt that too many times we were starting with a clean slate, rather than a suggestion from Printbox that a solution already existed. Couldn't make the website look anything like we wanted, felt very dated before it even launched. Had to abandon project and wasted thousands of pounds. I regret ever finding this company. My workflows are streamlined by the software's ability to be integrated with additional platforms like CRMs and payment gateways. Additionally, it gives my customers a wide range of customization options, which has raised my sales. Also very helpful is the customer service staff at Printbox. Overall, I heartily endorse Printbox to any company looking to establish and operate an online store for printed goods. Cons I have been using Printbox, but I have discovered some drawbacks. The software can occasionally be quite slow, which has been one of my main problems. When dealing with large files or a high volume of orders, this can be frustrating. A further drawback for some users is that the software occasionally has trouble handling different file types. Another drawback of the software is that it sometimes fails to accurately extract data from specific kinds of documents. Getting the software to recognize and extract data from documents with intricate formatting or distinctive layouts can be difficult. The software does not provide my customers with a variety of shipping options, I have also discovered. For some clients who want more options, this can be a problem. Finally, pricing schemes can be quite expensive, particularly for small businesses. Overall, Printbox has some great features that make it simple to automate data entry and increase efficiency, but the slow performance, lack of file type support, constrained shipping options, and high pricing can be serious drawbacks that can occasionally make it frustrating to use.
