Pros The only thing I like is that I can access my client's payroll easily, other than that, it is terrible and I do not recommend it. QuickBooks Payroll allowed me to onboard new contractors while being able to keep track of my current contractors. It was easy to set up banking information from my institution and also for contractors who did direct deposit. Cons QuickBooks is extremely efficient. The larger our company became we had to transition to something more substantial to handle Out of state Payrolls and Certified Payrolls. But for smaller companies - Works just fine. Pros Very easy to use. Easy to make changes. User friendly for employees entering their time. Great starter app. Cons Did not do multi-state payroll. Pros Long-standing company with a reputable name, with lots of integration options for other applications. Many different features applicable to lots of areas of running a business. Cons Sometimes their age can be a curse - parts can be clunky and have long-term issues that sometimes have you lost in a sea of numbers among QB customers. Their AI-sorting is also a little buggy. Staff are able to clock in and out, I am able to change any information that is needed. Direct deposit has been a life saver. Pros Makes it easy to pay staff and taxes both state and federal. I am still working on how to set up customer information due to having most cases paid by the county and not clients directly. Customer support has been amazing. Any question I have they are quick to resolve. I feel safe proving information to the site as well as saving pay stubs for clients. This is one of the best investments I have made in the 8 years of being a business owner. So far any issues that I have had have been resolved. Cons I have no issues thus far with QuickBooks. While price changes are normal in business, there does not seem to be enough communication or justification for the price changes with QuickBooks Payroll. Pros QuickBooks Payroll makes it easy to set up employee payroll. It calculates and updates payroll taxes, and it allows easy payment of taxes to the applicable state and federal governments. Through QuickBooks desktop payroll we were able to schedule our liability payments as well. I like that you would be able to see everything in one place, but I would not be able to be sure that it went through. Cons I don't like the fact that is very rigid, and that is not easy to change payroll from direct deposit to check. Sometimes my clients would be hard-pressed for payroll that period.
