Pros QuickBooks is super user friendly and easy to use. I have used QuickBooks for non-profits the most, both the desktop and on-line version. Cons What I like least about QuickBooks is that not all the features are the same between the on-line and desktop version. July 16, 2025 4.0 I started using it and had the majority understood and learned within a month. I run some pretty massive reports and i am very satisfied with the speed and filters. Pros This software is very easy to use. The reports are great, and it is pretty quick to learn and save your own reports. Enterpise also has much more tags you can attach to each transaction that can be reported on. Cons Trying to get a hold of customer service can be difficult. When doung the annual update often you get locked out and need their support. Also when trying to provide new contacts they make you have to jump through hoops, even when the owner calls them to make the request. It would also be better if their were better search features on the autit report. The changes to naming and set up recently make more sense then in the past. Bad expierences with foreign customer support. Would pay more for subscriptions if it guarenteed support persons in US who were knowledgeable Pros It's a well known product that all accountants are familiar with. The ability to import and sync records to other systems is valuble for time savings. Cons Customer support in foreign countries is very difficult when trying to explain and/or figure out issues and there are understanding barriers. Great customer service support too. I enjoyed some of the keyword features and ability to edit if needed. Keeping track of accounts payable and receivable was very smooth with this program. Sending out invoices to clients was easy and helpful and allowed me to provided clear instructions for the clients on how they could pay their bill. Pros It helped me keep track of all company expenses incoming & outgoing. I also created & provide quotes easily and efficiently for my bosses clients. It was easy to input information and even saved some of my key statements that I could reuse on emails making my input faster. Cons It would sometimes have trouble loading after updates, which caused issues with workflow, usually causing me to be back logged a day or two. Review Source NY Natalie Y. It was a bit of a learning curve at first, but once the program is understood, it is very easy to navigate. Pros I absolutely love QuickBooks, it is so easy to navigate. I like how it keeps track of all the data from invoices to customers and employees. This program has been a life saver to our little business. Pros The aspect I liked most about Quickbooks enterprise is the enhanced features on the base edition. The improved stock management system and similar navigation to the desktop edition makes this accounting system very easy to use and great value for money. The design, engineering, and functionality can't be beat. Pros QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise offers a significant performance advantage over QuickBooks Online. Its speed and efficiency are critical to my workflow. I have relied on QuickBooks Desktop since the 1990s and it has consistently met my business needs. The comprehensive functionality of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise supports essential accounting processes, including payroll management, credit card processing, bank transaction downloads, multi-company file management, employee access to pay stubs and W-2s, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll tax payments. The ability to simultaneously manage multiple company files is particularly valuable, and I would welcome future enhancements that increase this capacity. The current disparity in processing time between QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and QuickBooks Online is substantial; tasks completed in one hour within the desktop environment require approximately four hours in the online version. A mandated transition to QuickBooks Online would severely impact my productivity and potentially necessitate a reevaluation of my career path. In summary, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise remains a superior solution for my accounting needs. Its robust feature set and performance are unmatched, and any transition to a less efficient platform would be detrimental." Cons QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise exhibits a persistent limitation when processing bulk form transmissions. Specifically, the system consistently generates errors when attempting to send more than 120 forms concurrently. For organizations with high-volume invoicing, such as ours, this translates to a significant operational inefficiency. For example, processing 400 invoices necessitates sending the initial 125, followed by manually queuing the remaining 275 invoices via the 'Send Later' function. This requires 275 individual mouse clicks, representing a substantial time investment. This issue has persisted for an extended period, spanning approximately two decades, without resolution. Furthermore, the current pricing structure of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise presents a substantial financial burden. The discontinuation of QuickBooks Pro, previously available at a more accessible price point (approximately $199), and the mandatory adoption of the Enterprise subscription model have resulted in a significant cost increase. In 2024, our five-user license cost $4,579. Transitioning to a single-user license in 2025 resulted in a cost of $1,711. Compounding this, the shift from perpetual licenses to annual subscriptions has drastically increased the total cost of ownership. A software investment that previously yielded a multi-year lifespan now necessitates annual renewals, effectively increasing the five-year expenditure from the original $1,700 to $8,500. It’s a reliable, robust system that handles complex accounting needs well, especially as a business grows, while still being fairly easy to navigate once you’re familiar with it. Pros I liked how powerful it is while still feeling familiar. The advanced inventory and reporting tools are especially helpful, and it scales really well as a business grows without feeling overly complicated. I really like that you can manage inventory, create purchase orders, sales orders and invoices in the same place. Pros Easy to use, menus are well designed. The platform has a well designed menu bar with different tabs with a nice typo so it is easy to read. Cons Sometimes when two users are creating purchase orders or sales orders simultaneously Quickbooks assign them the same number. The most likely thing in quick books is we can manage quick books using laptop , phone etc, so as i can work while Iam travelling. I thing this software is more like an accountant friendly software while comparing with other softwares. Cons The cons i felt that the quick book is like a subscription model and they increase the cost everytime , for users like as needed to pay a high cost for it. Our main use for it was payroll so it mostly did its job. Pros What I liked the most about Quickbooks was the detailed reports they offered for budget, payroll, etc. Cons What I disliked the most about Quickbooks was the lack of support without paying for it. And how hard it was to recover or change a password for new management.
