Pros Quickbooks is a powerful accounting tool for smaller businesses! I have been using it for 10+ years and it is super simple to use. It makes invoice management super easy and saves a ton of time! It is fairly affordable compared to some other programs out there. They are very quick to fix and issues with the program. Cons There are sometimes bugs and it crashes. March 5, 2025 3.0 Although you can get online help and you can chat, I find that they don't really care about their customers. Especially with this recent experience, I feel like the bottom dollar for them is all they care about. Pros Easy to navigate, this version of QB allows for the use of source deductions for pastors in payroll (QBO does not), online so multiple users can use it, Cons They don't have updated options (such as bulk entering multiple receipts/donations at once - for example e-transfers - I get 60 per week and have to enter each one individually). I reached out and that is definitely not something they have or plan to have at this point. They don't release updates for things like payroll until a week or more later than it should be. They just increased my monthly rate by more than double (55%) without warning. They said the 3 user option we use is no longer available but instead of letting us know that and letting us know we are being grandfathered in at 3 user and the price was "adjusted according to current pricing", we just suddenly get a bill for more than double the amount. That's a huge hit to the budget - especially for a non-profit. They said we could go down to a single user but then we lose the payroll option. I feel like there is a general lack of concern for their customers and the product usability overall. Online lacks features we needed. Cons The customer service for the line of credit doesn't have a chat; they don't answer the phone calls, and it's been very difficult to reach them now that we have this service. Sending out invoices was easier and made email communication smoother. The customer service was top notch and provided a lot of time saving tips. It is also a very common platform to many companies use. Cons I do not like how the company name is not a clickable link--i.e. if you click on the company name, I would prefer it to take you to the company profile instead of searching for it.
