### "Great Accounting Tool"

Pros

Quickbooks is a less costly accounting tool that can easily be used by any accountant with little or no training in the application because it is self-training. This application makes the accountant's work easy and there is a high rate of privacy and protection. So you can't be afraid of data theft or loss of data.

The yearly update fees required for the desktop version

Overall it made business easy for inventory, accounting, payroll, and being an all in one solution for me. I had more pros than cons. One of the biggest user experience pluses is the easy to understand layout and input of data.

Pros

I liked that I could navigate most data entry without feeling frustrated like other competitive products. Any extra help was given through explanation on overviews you could read through. The wait time for product service questions and the service given was step by step as I am not the hippest person on understanding technology.

Cons

I don't like that payroll customer service is sourced out of the USA as there is a language barrier that hinders communication on big issues. I do wish the reports were a little easier to understand or find. I had to call to get help using and finding a couple reports needed for presentations.

Pros

Quickbooks makes it easy to keep track of expenses . Checks are direct deposited and payroll taxes are calculated automatically. You have the option to break expenses down or group all in one.

Cons

I found other online software to be a little easier to learn when I compared my options before making my decision to go with QuickBooks. Not enough inventory management. I have come across some credit card syncing problems.

### "Quickbooks is a godsend"

Overall, Quickbooks has been way good to me than not. I log in almost daily to reconcile the accounts and track cash which it lets me do with total ease. I can even use the App to do anything on the go.

Pros

What I liked most about Quickbooks, is the total ease of being able to track all my accounts in one software. It helps me locate missing checks that I forgot to put in my financials or other mistakes.

Cons

What I liked least about Quickbooks is that it will sometimes lose connection to a bank account or multiple. In that case, you must reconnect which does not take long at all, just an extra step at times.

### "The most complete software with the most incomplete customer support"

One-stop solution for everything I need in accounting and payroll

Pros

I've checked out almost every Payroll and Accounting software tool on the market. Quickbooks is by far the most complete. As a startup entrepreneur, I'm of course partial to working with other startups. But the price point differences aren't that huge between QBO and the competitors. And with QBO you can easily connect with accountants who are familiar with the software.

Cons

First, implementation. It is a beast trying to get into Quickbooks initially. I tried to do it on my own. Bad decision. You want to hire someone to setup your QBO account for you. Once complete however, it's much easier to use and you can handle almost anything within the software. Second, customer support. Unfortunately, this has actually gotten worse over time. You used to be able to hop on chat and get the help you needed. Now most things require waiting on extended hold times for a response. I even tried recently to upgrade my account after seeing an offer on their side for premium payroll services. The difficulty with trying to get in touch with someone was so difficult I just eventually gave up.

It's helped us keep track of our receivables and improve our time to being paid by customers.

Pros

Very simple and easy to use! Can simply store customer information, create invoices, email within the application, and set reminders for payments. Additionally, pulling reports is fairly simple and keeping track of the businesses finances as a whole.

Cons

Some of the reports need cleaning up after downloading, but it's not that bad if you are semi-proficient in Excel.

### "Makes sense of running a small business"

I ran a small business for 19 years with all of the financials kept on QuickBooks. Every year, the accountant could do the taxes, etc., very efficiently. He could quickly spot errors and easily correct them. The lack of hourly time invested by my CPA probably exceeds the cost of the software.

Pros

QuickBooks was universally recognized and compatible with everything outside the office that we did: Working with the accountants, online banking, tax prep, balance sheets and financial statements, etc. It was very easy for new employees to learn and to use properly, but even more importantly, it was easy to correct errors by new users!

Cons

Importing Excel spreadsheets is awkward. Navigation inside the program can be awkward. The "Help" button is just not. The cost of every mandatory upgrade gets steeper and steeper, and is a cash flow problem for small businesses.

I have 14 clients and they all use QBE, I push the product, not because I know it ,but because it a great product. I do the set up of their accounting system and training. My experience has been great with this product.

Pros

As a accountant and working with my client the reports are very easy to explain and review with my clients.QBE,is bmvery detailed and easy to use and set up for my clients.

Cons

There are no cons from me. My client has not came to me with anything bad to say about the software.

Tracking inventory from multiple sites. Run daily business and order processing

Pros

QB has a lot of hidden features that allow you to do a much better job of tracking inventory and managing product. The average user never taps into these resources but they are available to anyone with the software; which is nice. This is a powerful software that can adapt to your business as it grows and changes. Their CC processing rates are really good.

Cons

Support is very minimum. With Enterprise you get free support with your monthly subscription but the support team is little more than customer service team members reading online articles. I have been able to find the solution myself while the team members were looking through their archives. It is few and far between when you get a knowledgeable support team member.

I like how I am able to estimate and invoice from the estimate. I also like how it is really easy to keep a track of spending in the check register and send files to my accountant.

Cons

The help is not always very helpful. I wish there was more comprehensive solution or even a forum option.

Amazing service. An absolute must have for any small business owner. It may be the best investment I have ever made.

Pros

QuickBooks UI and analytics dashboard is one of the best features. I can send reminders for overdue accounts with the one button.

Cons

I have never had any issues with QuickBooks. Other than me having a slow internet connection from time to time, but what software does not have problems in this case.

I live creating invoices and sending them out to my clients. Receiving payments with an ease and making payments with ease too! I can customize reports for my end of week or end of month; also quarterly and yearly. Its great!

Pros

I have been using this to reconcile my books. Super user friendly. Simple to connect to your bank accounts too. Easy to upload your bank statements. they have a support team that help you if needed. Chart of accounts are very broad and customizable to your company. They have trainers to help with LIVE trainings.

Cons

I can't find something I don't like. Because Quickbooks is amazing and simple to use. You can create invoices, receive payments, reconcile your accounts. It does the job.

Allows us to manage all of our accounting, billing, job costing, and reporting systems in one program, which interfaces with the other 3rd party HR and CRM software systems we use.

Pros

It is an extremely robust accounting software that also allows interfaces and exchanges information with other industry-specific programs that we use. This has streamlined a lot of our billing, accounting, and record-keeping processes. Reporting functions are broad and very customizable.

Cons

Customer support. It can be very very challenging to get the assistance you need with an issue. After several frustrating attempts at working with them, spending hours on the phone to resolve a seemingly simple issue, I have found it best to use Google to try to answer any questions or resolve issues and only call Quickbooks customer service as an absolute last resort. Every call turns into a sales pitch, and it was frequently present as if the solution to all my problems was to just upgrade to the latest version. After a couple of times trying that, only to discover the same issues still existed in the new version, I felt duped. IF you can manage to connect with a higher-tiered support agent, they do have a considerably larger breadth of understanding of the program and how to troubleshoot issues. It seems their first-line staff are not very knowledgable of IT and really felt more like a sales staff than a support staff.

### "Book-keeping For Dummies"

Love QB and will keep using it for my freelancing design jobs. Do yourself a favor and try QB if you are on the hunt for a powerful book-keeping application.

Pros

QuickBooks is in a class of its own in terms of book keeping and everything associated with it. Tracking expenses and revenues, generating reports, and customizing bills are just a few of the features that QB lets you perform simply. The user interface is super friendly and all the main features are within a couple mouse clicks away. I honestly don't think any other software that's available in the market comes close to QB in terms of how complete of a package you get for an affordable price.

Cons

The only con about QB is that it has so many features that you wouldn't know what to use them for. Simply amazing.

### "Great business solution "

Pros

The reporting is really great, tracks customer and sales seamlessly. Backside for AR and AP is user friendly.

Cons

The max allowed names allowed. We have to go in and audit old customers or vendors quite frequently as we hit our max often. We have been in business for 25+ years so there is a lot of data here. Also wish you didn't have to constantly be in single user mode to made certain changes...really disrupts the business day when I have to ask everyone to get out of QB.

Quickbooks works great and is used by many of my client. i would recommend the product.

Pros

Quickbooks is an excellent choice for the small business user. i have deployed the product in environments from single user to multi-user implementation. The set up is straight forward. You can set up the product to work with Microsoft Outlooks so reports and invoices can be sent to email. That is a real plus

Cons

Slow, slow, slow at times. All users of Quickbooks seem to complain that the product is slow. I also find the the on board help is not that good, and i get better answers by jut Googling the issue

### "Great For Any Bussiness"

It has easy navigation, and I think it would be a great tool for any size business small or large.

Pros

I like how easy it is to search for items in the system. I also like that there are shortcuts that you can do instead of searching through the drop down menus.

Cons

I don't like that when it has been a long time since the company has done a back up it asks me when I am logging out if I would like to do a back up. Only the admin can back up our system. On that person should get the notification.

### "Easy to Setup, Easy to Use but Support isn't brilliant"

It's a good product we use every day to perform our accounting, but the support needs better training. It's recommended, but just needs improving.

Pros

It's easy to setup, the integrations are easy and everything is generally possible to setup yourself without any help. Direct Debits, PayPal Payments etc are all possible through integrations as well. Looks professional, built in reports and generally does most things you require.

Cons

Refunds are actually impossible and you have to create a really long winded work around to document it. Support isn't good - they blame your browser and talk you through basic steps over and over again - even when talking to technical engineers they will patronize you. Support also have no idea about how accounting works so aren't best when seeking advise on documenting things like VAT etc.

### "QuickBooks Great for Small Business"

QuickBooks has been a huge help for our businesss. We used to run payroll and invoicing through QB but now only do invoicing. Their app is actually great - I prefer it to the desktop site, it’s simpler and even more user-friendly, plus you can get updates straight to your phone or tablet notifiying you when you get paid, etc. Definitely a must to run a small business.

Pros

It’s comprehensive and very easy to learn - for someone who has never used any kind of accounting software before, I was pleasantly surprised as to how I was able to learn it in no time.

Cons

A little tough to figure things out at times - like if you’d like to do something a bit more advanced, it can be hard to find and their help database is a little lacking in my opinion.

### "Not a major fan"

I do accounts receivable and insurance claims tracking with the program which does the job well. I have worked with Quickbooks for Mac and can't believe how difficult that is to use compared to PC Quickbooks. Hopefully they are working on improving that-immensely.

Pros

The ability to have several different companies; to be able to email or fax statements, invoices. Like being able to set up the program each and every time I log off. Peace of mind.

Cons

Cringe when there is an error and the program has issues. So afraid I am going to lose current data. Customer service is not helpful if training period has passed. Don't like the automatic updates. Would like to be able to choose if I want them, or not.

### "Quickbooks is Number One for Business Owners"

Overall, I've had a positive experience with Quickbooks. It is very easy to track transactions and review the details. It's also easy to send and receive accountant copies. As both a user and recipient of Quickbooks, I appreciate the ease of use and just the overall concise appearance of statements.

Pros

I like how simple it is to enter journal entries and transactions, which definitely helps alleviates the tedium of having to update a company's books. The financial statements also come out very clean and organized.

Cons

There's not much I don't like about this software other than the pop-ups and constant update notifications that appear. I don't appreciate how everytime I open up a file, I either have to update the file or upgrade to the next version. Sometimes large files take awhile to load and sometimes Quickbooks isn't compatible with my computer or windows version.

### "Needs improvement"

If you have to contact QB, make sure you allow at least an hour to get your issue resolved. I have actually been on the phone with them for over 3 hours before. We currently have an issue with the QB web connector that QB says isn't their problem, but it's Microsoft's. We've contacted both who accuse the other that it's their issue. It still hasn't been fixed, but I feel like since it's QBweb Connector, it should be QuickBook's problem. So they aren't even standing behind their product.

Pros

QuickBooks continues to come up with new features. The integrated features are very useful.

Cons

Features like the "Search" one used to work better many years ago. It's very difficult for it find anything anymore. Continuous price increases and additional costs for payroll have skyrocketed. Then they will "force" you to upgrade after 3 years because features like payroll will no longer work with the older versions. Their online support is absolutely useless. Everytime I have contacted them, after 10 minutes of chatting, they tell you to call some 800 number. Numerous times I've apparently been given the wrong number and have been transferred several times until you finally get to the right department. Plan on spending well over an hour if you have to call in for any issue.

Ease of reporting is the biggest pro for us. There are a lot of robust reports for transaction details.

Cons

Lack of internal controls. For example, there isn't a formal approval/submission process for journal entries. However, audit trails help manage this to an extent.
