Pros I like the large variety of options for different things such as bills, vendors, and checks. I also like that the software has shortcuts to make the process of bill payment easier. Cons In the past I have had trouble with more than one user using the software at the same time. I have also experienced many glitches and lag time with the software. It is limited in some of its features, but this is not for high end corporate accounting. Pros Setting up inventory and sending invoices are simple to setup and easy to manage. Valuable accounting reports such as profit & loss and cash flow are quick to create. Reconciling expenses with connected bank accounts makes for easy expense reporting and end-of-year tax exemptions. Mobile app is helpful for creating invoices and estimates on the go. Cons Quickbooks is not a professional accounting tool. This is a robust book keeping tool for small businesses. If you have a complicated corporate structure, this is not for you. There are only a few layouts available and it took contacting support to figure out how to change the layout to fit our envelopes. January 11, 2018 4.0 Pros Payroll is very east and not too expensive of an addon. INtegrates with our CRM and Service software well. WE use two different systems from our B2B and B2C service sides so having a separate accounting system that allows bot to export data to it works well. Cons Tax is not the best and multi user is limited without going to the cloud based software that is monthly cost as to a single purchase. We use multiple tax codes and getting them set up to work properly in QB was a pain. Also inventory and purchasing frustrating in the product but it is primarily an accounting system. Vendors and Customers can not have the same name or code and sum of our customers are vendors too which is an issue having to have them in twice. Cons There are a lot of powerful tools, but it can be hard to get things set up correctly and navigate. There really is only one way to do the financial numbers for a company and QB delivers on it. The only sore spot is the payroll module which requires a lot of focus to get it right. Pros If you are a small business the QuickBooks is the standard bookkeeping software. It is easy to enter in items and create memorized invoices. In addition the reporting module gives you all the reports you need to keep track of the numbers. Cons My least favorite part of QB is its integration with payroll taxes and the reporting of the form 941. A small business has to be really careful how it sets up the payroll module as later on the IRS can come and ask you to restate your financials. So be especially careful with the payroll module. It is very convenient when I have to send all my books to my accountant and everything is labeled and ready for him to see. It has been a great all-in-one solution for my small business finances. Pros I use QuickBooks with my small photography business. It is very useful for sending invoices to clients, and the web-based platform allows me to use it any place, any time. The interface is sleek and user-friendly. I can use QuickBooks to track other tax write-offs, such as mileage and business expenses. It links directly with my business bank account, so my business transactions are automatically integrated into my bookkeeping. I also like that it can sync with many other online platforms, such as square and paypal. Cons The updates are automatic and can take a while to adjust to. Sometimes, there are many menu layers I have to work through to use functions I use frequently. I wish that there were more keyboard shortcuts, or a way to set your own custom keyboard shortcuts with features you use often. Sometimes the categorization of transactions need to be adjusted for my accountant. November 9, 2017 5.0 I've set up a lot in there, over the past few years. Frees up time, and that's money. Pros Easy invoicing, but set your chart of accounts and products and services the right way. Auto-matching works great for payments. It also has great 3rd app integrations like t-sheets and receipt bank. If you keep your books balanced and classify things the right way, reports give you great insight. Cons 1\. Can't send invoices via attachments. If multiple invoices are paid in 1 payment, its hard to figure out which invoices are paid, besides manually doing so. 2. I used to pay less amount and now more for the basic features I use. 3. Automated Intelligence features Cons Got to love when you have been working on a quote for 30 minutes to an hour then the Quickbooks online system all of sudden boots you out and all your recent work......gone !!! In my organization, we rely on quickbooks for daily orders and inventory. It works well a central location to store all financial data. Also, the reports generation tool is nice, especially as you have it memorize and customize transactions and reports. Cons I feel the Premier version inventory is lacking. Its hard to separate inventory from bills ( when bills come before inventory-you have to prepay and use chart of accounts ) and the inventory stock status adjustments are somewhat difficult to use. Pros I like how much information this software can capture. I love the different editions it has that are customized to the industry in which your business belongs to. We are a job based business so we have the capability to now set up jobs within quickbooks and run reports based off of the jobs. It cuts back on so much of the work I was doing before I switched over to Quickbooks Enterprise. It has eliminated by need for a outside collections app I now use the collections center that QB Enterprise offers. I have also cut back on so much time it originally toke me to perform payroll and invoicing there is just better and more customizable reports. I also love how much data this software can capture I have the ability to create custom fields with in my job information, I can attach files to my bills, invoices, customer jobs and parent accounts. I also like how there is a lead center that allows for keeping a record of basic sales leads. Cons The software is not as user friendly but that is because it has so much functionality but I guess that is what the help feature is for. Additionally, there are little things that I wish I could have such as estimates converted to jobs report, more options when creating a budget such as setting it up as quarterly, or annually rather than just monthly, or the ability to batch edit all lists rather than just a few select ones. Also probably the major difficulty we have dealt with on this program is multi-user mode. There are so many features that you can't perform when in multi-user mode which is inconvenient because then it puts a hold on the your work flow while you wait for another user to complete their task in the software.
