### "Great for automated lead follow-up"

June 20, 2026

5.0

It's been the backbone of my course marketing. Once my follow-up sequences were set up they basically run themselves, which is exactly what I needed as a one-person business.

Pros

I run an online course for wedding pros and Kit handles all my lead follow-up. The visual automation builder is easy to set up - new sign-ups drop into a sequence and get nurtured without me touching anything. Tagging keeps my leads organized by where they are in the funnel, and the emails actually land in inboxes.

Cons

Reporting is pretty basic and the landing page templates feel dated. Pricing climbs fast as your subscriber list grows.

### "Great for starting out with email marketing"

February 19, 2026

4.0

Good for a beginner and a small business owner! The large price increases as my email list grew was difficult on me as a small business owner.

Pros

Kit has a handful of premade templates that made getting started with email marketing and email list management easy to initiate. Kit made the process less overwhelming.

Cons

The templates provided for paid subscribers are very basic, must be edited on a desk top, and the price increases significantly with subscriber amount but the features do not improve or change.

### "Extractive Behavior over 3 Years"

June 17, 2026

2.0

Decent product that's decaying and extractive business practices. The poor value and way plan changes get billed, automatic on the way up and manual on the way down, is why I would not recommend them and I'm moving to another platform.

Pros

The sending is reliable and the editor is clean. Deliverability held up across three years and steady volume. As an email and automation tool it does the core job well.

Cons

Kit is slow to update the product and automates billing in one direction, the one that charges more. When my list crossed a tier in January 2024, it upgraded my plan and billed a prorated charge the same day. When I pruned inactive subscribers and dropped back under the tier, the higher price held. Support confirmed from their own logs that I should have been on lower tiers from June 2025 through January 2026, about $936 in overcharges. But their refusal is consistent with the extractive behavior seen in price raises without feature development.

### "Kit's simplicity is both great and also a part of its weakness"

April 29, 2026

3.0

Let me start off with why I say that Kit's simplicity is both a strength and a weakness. The one client I have who uses Kit was having all kinds of issues with email deliverability. Keep in mind, this client has been using Kit since 2020 and has sent out 156 email broadcasts. The client only asked for my help with finding out what was going on in the last few weeks (April 2026). Her domain and email reputations were very good. Her SPF, DKIM and DMARC was set up properly. Since I did that back when I started working with her, I knew that wasn't the issue, but I double-checked those things again just to make sure I wasn't being negligent. Turns out the issue was that she did not have a sending domain set up and verified. I was floored. Since 2020, she'd been using a Gmail email address for sending out her email broadcasts, and then when Google and Yahoo! started enforcing their SPF/DKIM/DMARC rules and caused everyone else to follow suit that's when her deliverability and open rates tanked. I've been doing web work since 1999, and in every CRM and email marketing platform I ever used for my own purposes and/or setup up for clients I was immediately directed to set up a sending domain. That was the first thing that popped up, so it did not occur to me to first make sure my client had a valid sending domain set up. Again, keep in mind that my client has been working with Kit since 2020 and has sent out 156 email broadcasts. As soon as I took the five-to-seven minutes to set up the sending domain, everything was back up and running smoothly. In all my web work years, I have never used or had a client use Gmail or Hotmail or Yahoo! or any other non-domain-specific email address on my/their CRM/email marketing platform(s). Kit is easy to use, especially for creators who want to send broadcasts, build simple automations, manage subscribers with tags and avoid the confusion of duplicate list-based systems. Its autoresponders, sequences, landing pages and forms are genuinely strong, especially for creators, coaches, course sellers, newsletter writers and digital product sellers who need a clean system without a steep learning curve. Kit makes it SO super simple to create email content and send out email broadcasts that there are hardly any customization options. That is both helpful and limiting. If your goal is to get a simple message out quickly, Kit makes that painless. If your goal is tighter control over branding, layout, CTA styling or direct HTML/CSS editing inside the email editor, Kit starts to feel restrictive very quickly. The lack of a quick WYSIWYG-to-code toggle is frustrating if you are comfortable writing HTML/CSS directly, and the limited CTA/form/email design flexibility makes Kit feel less ideal for brands that need tighter visual control. Kit is clean and simple, but simple is not always enough when you are trying to make email content feel fully branded. The pricing is another sticking point. Kit’s up to 10K email subscribers on the free tier is generous on its face, especially because it includes landing pages, forms, broadcasts and tagging. But if you allow yourself to accumulate 10,000 subscribers on the free tier, subscriber 10,001 is going to cost you, as of the time of this review, either $116/mo or $1,390/yr. That creates a real problem for bootstrapping solopreneurs. If you have invested many hours into learning all the INs and OUTs of Kit while building up to 10,001+ subscribers, you may feel held hostage once you surpass the 10K subscriber mark. At that point, switching platforms may feel disruptive, but staying may suddenly become expensive. Overall, I think Kit is very good at what it is clearly built to do: help creators grow and email an audience without getting buried in technical complexity. But it is not the best fit for every small business, and it is not the platform I would automatically recommend when customization, reply-routing flexibility, advanced reporting or budget-sensitive scaling are high priorities.

Pros

I've only dealt with the free plan while working with one of my clients. Kit makes it super simple to create email content and send out email broadcasts. You also do not have to duplicate the same user across multiple lists. You can simply use tagging to have one subscriber on more than one list. Customer support is speedy and useful.

Cons

On the free tier, customization options are limited. Also, the entry price to the first paid tier is much more than with other email marketing platforms. Going from $0 to (at the time of this review) $33/mo or $390/yr is not budget-friendly to bootstrapping solopreneurs, and I primarily work with bootstrapping solopreneurs. Also, you are not allowed to use one email for sending and another email as "reply-to" on ANY plan, free or paid.

### "The best email platform for my needs."

April 24, 2025

5.0

Fully satisfied. Not planning to move to another platform and never were for more than five years being an active customer with a medium size subscriber list (between 1.000 and 2.5000 subs).

Pros

I moved from MailChimp. I increased the open conversions from 20% to 40% with the same list. I like the automations and sequences, and the segmentation and tagging features. I have Kit integrated with WP, LearnWorlds (previously with Patreon and Teachable) and I could tag all subscribers to drive campaigns to specific audiences.

Cons

It takes a while to really understand how to manage how sequences and visual integrations work.

Pros

Kit is an easy to use Email Service Provider that makes automation easy and understandable for any skill level. I also love that their customer support team is active and will reply with solutions quickly.

Cons

### "Easy to Use option for Email lists, newsletters, and funnels"

May 22, 2025

5.0

Overall it's easy to use and I would recommend it for a fairly inexpensive option for email management, funnels and more.

Pros

It's very easy to use, most things I can do intuitively, and if not, then there are easy-to-follow videos to walk me through.

Cons

I wish I could edit the templates a bit more. I wish it incorporated more drag and drop and add like canva into it's templates for lead magnets and more.

### "Kit is a must have!!! "

April 6, 2026

5.0

We are very happy with Kit and believe it compares well if not better to its competitors. You can seamlessly design in the platform and deploy dynamic elements in email campaigns.

Pros

Kit is very easy to personalize to our organization's style. It allowed us to have seamless communications with our audience and preserve a fluid style from our website to our communications. Kit also allowed us to gather impactful data on the successes or pitfalls of our different email campaigns--thus allowing us to improve our communications.

Cons

Occasionally, the user interface was clunky and led to avoidable mistakes, but most of this was more user error than an actual problem with Kit itself.

### "Email marketing tool for creators "

March 28, 2026

5.0

I loved using it to start my email marketing journey. It was easy to use and there was a lot of a resources and support l

Pros

It was easy to use. I love the UI of it and the free plan was up to 10,000 subscribers. It also integrated well with a lot of other tools. I also liked the creator profile and the link in bio. Great for those who don’t have a website yet. And is just getting started. You could run your entire business with kit

Cons

I didn’t like the automation limits in the free plan and I that there isn’t an app. But overall, it’s so easy to use

### "ConvertKit saves time, effort and money. Check it out."

July 5, 2023

5.0

I've had a great experience. There is a bit of a learning curve when you first start, but CK is a powerful email marketing tool with loads of customizations and automations that make it worth the time to learn it.

Pros

CK allows me to tag my subscribers so easily which then allows me to send customized content to each set of subscribers. I also love the email templates that make my weekly emails easy to complete. The extensive library of training resources are SO helpful when I have a question.

Cons

CK is pretty technical so you have to have more of a systems/logistical brain to use it. If you're used to drag/drop, point/click, you may be a little intimidated by parts of CK. It all works well but requires a bit more technical skill that I needed for Constant Contact. It's totally worth it for me though!

### "Best email marketing platform I've found for marketing my online courses"

February 11, 2021

5.0

Great experience overall. My sales are better because I can be super specific with who I'm emailing, based on their interests (links they've clicked, courses they're already enrolled in, etc.). I love that I can market specifically instead of blasting every sales email to every subscriber blindly. And I know my subscribers appreciate this, too.

Pros

I love that ConvertKit has so many capabilities. There are a million different ways you can tag or segment your audience, and it integrates with the other platform I use for selling my online courses, Thinkific. I really love that together with Thinkific, it knows which email subscribers have purchased what, and their interest (all based on tags I set up). I also love the step-by-step instructions that ConvertKit provides for setting up these processes.

Cons

There's a tiny learning curve when you first get into it. There are a LOT of features and capabilities, but once you get the hang of the basics you'll realize how much you can do with ConvertKit. Plus, there are great step-by-step tutorials offered by ConvertKit. And their Help Desk is actually helpful!

### "Great email marketing platform if you are NOT a beginner."

October 5, 2020

5.0

I'm not an email marketing beginner, but I tried ConvertKit and I didn't stay with them. I found their platform to be overwhelming, clunky, and I did not like the way the emails to my subscribers looked. The emails are quite plain. As an online business coach for women with service-based businesses, I dont' want to be tinkering around for a long time trying to figure out how to use an email marketing platform i'm paying for and I also want my emails to stand out. ConvertKit doesn't do either of those things for me.

Pros

This is by far the best platform for organizing how you want your email series to be sent out as well as for tagging subscribers according to how they respond to your emails (like if they click on a button in your email to learn more, sign up for something, buy something, etc.). If you know what you're doing, this is an intuitive platform that allows you to keep track of what your subscribers are doing and then target them with the appropriate marketing.

Cons

I feel like ConvertKit isn't beginner friendly because when you first sign onto there the interface is too overwhelming. The positive is that they give you a lot of options as to what you can do in email marketing and then the negative is that they give you too much options so then, like I said, it just looks overwhelming as a platform to work with. They do have tutorials though as well as a trial so you can get to know the platform before you jump into the monthly fee that starts at $29.

### "Solid and improving email marketing software"

May 8, 2021

4.0

Overall ConvertKit is a good solid option, but only really if you're using the paid version. The free version lacks a lot of the good features. It is priced competitively and once you learn how to use it, it's pretty user friendly. Reliability wise, I've never had a problem as far as I can recall. Customer service is pretty quick and I've even reached out to the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] via Twitter and he was responsive.

Pros

When I started using ConvertKit it was a relative new entrant to the market and a competitor to the likes of MailChimp and AWeber. It was started by someone who had used other email marketing solutions and and had tried to overcome issues with these solutions. This meant for someone who was reasonably software literate it was straightforward to use and had some great features, and these have been added to as time has gone on.

Cons

There has been an update on the landing page section which meant I could no longer use one of sign-up forms, which was used multiple times over my website. Although necessary for them, it caused me as a user quite a headache to resolve. Also, if you go over a threshold of subscribers, the price goes up automatically...if you go back below the threshold you have to tell them to move you back down. The free option is not particularly great for brand new websites and on websites I have built for others, they've tended towards something like MailerLite initially.

I've been using Kit to set up a newletter and a landing page for a new buisiness I am working on. I was looking for something simple and easy to navigate, while still presenting a polished look with functionality.

Pros

### "Great for newsletters!"

March 25, 2022

5.0

Overall, ConvertKit is our current mailing provider for our newsletter. We've grown accustomed to it to and use it weekly for our newsletter sends and daily on my end for metrics reporting and analysis. It's easy to use, not overly complicated - yet full of useful features - and really helps us communicate with our beloved, amazing audience. The custom code feature is a particular favourite as well as the metrics breakdown and reporting. I personally and genuinely enjoy the ease of use the most in a metrics-reporting context and certainly think it's a good contender for newsletters and mailing lists.

Pros

The ease of use of Convertkit is the most useful aspect of this tool. Your metrics are in good view for when you need to determine campaign success, it has tonnes of features ranging from things like templates to custom code which makes content creation a breeze and it's usability makes it easy even for a novice like me to use!

Cons

I think pricing could be improved a tad particularly as there are more competitive providers in the market with more affordable ranges. I think this may put off a lot of first time creators in particular, especially those who are initially starting out, however it's still fairly reasonable. Furthermore, and this could be completely my technical illiteracy speaking, I think features like integrations for things like real time metrics updates for client/customer facing landing pages could be a cool addition. For instance, I was looking into a function where I could display our subscriber count that would update in real time on the website in accordance with the number of subscribers we're getting on the daily, however couldn't find a way to do this.

### "This software helps me write more emails."

August 31, 2022

5.0

Overall my experience with convert Kit has been excellent. I also had an issue with my bill and their customer service is just fast and superb I can’t say enough about the experience I had with customer service is really cemented my decision and confirmed that I made a good choice by changing to the software.

Pros

It was really easy to use, it was really easy to set up, it was really easy to transition all my emails from my old email management system. Also every experience I’ve had with customer service so far has been excellent. They respond fast and I just feel like they really worked a lot to help me when I had problems.

Cons

Right now I haven’t found anything that’s been difficult to use or any features that I wish were included. This is a pretty cut and dry service I write email campaigns every week and they deliver them so it does exactly what I needed to do.

### "A fast and trustworthy email marketing tool..."

September 16, 2022

5.0

Pros

I first saw Pat Flynn using ConvertKit and the process really seemed very smooth to me. I started using ConvertKit and never regretted it. You feel like you're using an extraordinary tool that seems to be running on its own. Very easy to configure and send email campaigns, amazing support team, a very straightforward interface, great speed, and decent pricing.

Cons

The pricing is not the most affordable if we jump into the marketing and email marketing tool world but is actually considerable. Other than this, my only concern is with putting together the signup forms and landing pages. It's not as great as tools like ClickFunnels, Leadpages, etc., but is still better than AWeber and GetResponse (is what I feel).

### "Life Saver"

5.0

Due to the ease of ConvertKit I email way more. I am not getting fancy yet with sequences, but in a matter of using it only for 2 weeks, the way the software is set up, I am begging to formulate big picture sequences, strategize campaigns and IN TRUTH, I was never able to look at my health coaching service and online webinars like this because my background is education. As a educator we don't think like this because our students just come to us, the stress of "getting clients" was so large and overwhelming until I found something like convert kit to make me BE more present and visible online. I AM SO GRATEFUL!

Pros

As a person with little to no tech background, truth, I was quite intimidated by this software. HOWEVER, what I love about it, is its dedication to quick videos that give you instant feedback and education to navigate and understand what you are doing. There are tutorials everywhere, in truth you never feel lost or alone or not supported. It is more about (as a new entrepreneur) it is more abut catching up with the scope of what you want to do with it. I initially used it to organize and gather emails and do live broadcast, but together with Leadpages these two have been my go to towards launching my first webinar only using emails in my direct network and slotting 8 out of 10 seats for my webinar. I really was lost in terms of how to manage all these emails and in truth they manage themselves. I What I love the most is how it auto tags/sorts the emails so I can see who responds to what funnel and make me a better and more strategic entrepreneur.

Cons

Nothing yet, I am more impatient with myself because I wish I could understand its full scope fast.

### "ConvertKit = Powerful Features I Need + Simplicity I Love."

January 17, 2019

5.0

Pros

Many bloggers are overwhelmed by the technical aspects of setting up a successful email newsletter strategy. Yup, there are a variety of email platforms out there and I have managed large lists on many of them. For my Email on Autopilot system, I strongly recommend ConvertKit. I can tell you from a lot of firsthand experience that “putting your email on autopilot” is WAY easier with ConvertKit than anything else I’ve tried. ConvertKit was specifically built with bloggers and small businesses in mind, unlike other platforms that either don’t have the right tools or complicate things waaaayyy too much. I recommend ConvertKit because it has the perfect combination of the powerful features that I need and the simplicity-of-use that I love.

Cons

I wish I had a little more flexibility in creating RSS-driven emails.
