Our main business line and my personal business line are both through Grasshopper, and all of our calls are handled easily and efficiently. Very satisfied with our VOIP, and have no desire to change anytime soon.

Pros

SIMPLE. It's an easy-to-use VOIP that has plenty of features that are helpful and very user-friendly. Voicemail transcripts and auto-text responses make it a breeze to deal with missed calls, and the mobile app is well-designed and functional. My entire staff uses it seamlessly. Their customer service is TOP NOTCH. Every time I call in, they are incredibly professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Response time is excellent. Quite possibly some of the best customer service I've experienced with a software company.

Cons

Only one minor gripe: the current feature for custom call scheduling is a bit dysfunctional, and requires manually setting hours. Would not be so bad, except when I have to do it for 5 employees, it can take a bit of time. A "save call schedule" feature would be extremely useful here, to then just apply to the others.

Overall, it's a great option for our business since we work remotely and it's incredible for us to be able to all access the same business line whenever needed. I do wish we had less errors than we have experienced though. Still the best option we have found though. Customer service is quick and helpful, but they haven't always been able to fix the issues I have had.

Pros

I was tired of carrying my personal phone and my business phone. Now I have access to both phone lines on one mobile device. Even better is I can access the business line from all of my devices! And even better than that is my business partner can also access the same business line from their mobile devices as well!

Cons

It has a lot of great features, but seems to have quite a few glitches as well. We have missing text messages on occasion and random errors like that.

Pretty good product overall. Would recommend for small businesses. Easy to keep track of and follow up on phone calls or messages. Could improve some functionality for offices with more than one extension number and easier communication between the two. Great for smaller call volume use and offices on the go.

Pros

Great option for small businesses. Easily forward calls from the office number to your cell phone... work on the go! Easy for multiple users on a business line, can leave notes on messages for others to see, and can get the messages via email. Great features! Love that you're not tied to the desk and the phone line.

Cons

Wish you could transfer calls from one line/user to another. Have to press 1 in order to accept a call, otherwise whenever multiple calls ring it it forwards to personal voicemail. Limited with regards to multi-person businesses or office numbers. Would be great if the software blocked spam calls or had a quick option to block numbers in the future. Should never go to anything personal... this should be an option not a default.

The British voice option needs a better accent. It would also be nice if there were more integrations with CRMs like Salesforce or HubSpot.

### "Best Phone System for Small Business"

We're a small business and don't want to break the bank. When we shopped around, we found Grasshopper. There is a base cost plus a number of minutes per month you're allotted. Any additional minutes are billed at a set and reasonable rate. We love using it because we can customize the welcome message, create a phone tree, and add people as we grow. We automatically get copies of every voicemail left emailed to our inbox. There are literally more features than you need as a small business. Honestly, the best bang for your buck, hands down.

Pros

Ease of use (back of the house), Ease of setup, Best Value, See who's calling if logged in at time of call.

Cons

Not much. I haven't encountered a problem that either wasn't fixed immediately or that made any difference to how we do business.

### "The most features for the price"

Very positive overall.

Pros

Grasshopper offers business telephone features that you will pay a lot more for with any other provider. You get a phone number, voicemail, unlimited calling, IVR, multiple extensions, and custom call management.

Cons

Lacks advanced call features you might find with other VOIP providers, and because it's a virtual phone service, you still have to use your mobile phone to answer calls. Also, the Android app is a bit buggy and doesn't always notify me when I've missed a call, so I have to open the app to check it.

### "Good virtual PBX for SMB"

Pros

As a virtual PBX Grasshopper does the job. It works for us to allow inbound calls to a 800 number from a website and we look and feel like a much larger company. Works well for inbound calls, easy transfers to user and good options for setting up time of day routing and the like.

Cons

Costs for international calls are too high. Our users don't tend to like the app for outbound calls/texts so it can be a pain that conversations quickly move off of the platform. Would be better if the app was under more constant development. Cost is also high for the VOIP features. We primarily use it for inbound calling due to these reasons.

Pros

You can pick a new number or port your current number over and use Grasshopper features. Toll-Free numbers, this is what we use for marketing so we can track the calls I like the fact we use vanity numbers easy to remember and more people call on a toll-free line. We have not gotten to use the apps yet but, having personal and business on one phone is great. Voice mail text is also great I can read and see fast what is going on without dialing back into the system.

Cons

The cons not many at all I found the pricing good, the features are rich, and the monthly option or pay annaully is great.

Pros

It's easy to use and we can have our own office number without the actual phones and subscriptions.

Cons

Not very easy to customize and we're pretty much stuck with what we had from the beginning, we haven't changed anything

We really like Grasshopper. It is perfect for a small business if you need a good phone virtual system and if your employees work remotely this is perfect.

Pros

Our business needed a virtual phone system that could be accessed anywhere and Grasshopper delivered exactly what we needed! We really enjoy using Grasshopper. It keeps everything in one place where you can easily access voicemails, numbers, set up extensions etc. Really good product.

Cons

So far I have not experienced anything that would be a con per say, I did accidentally delete an extension once and I wish it would have gave me an option where it asks "are you sure you want to delete this." Either way I was able to quickly add it back on.

Pros

This software is pretty easy to use! it gets the job done and gives you your own personal extension so you can get back to the clients that need your help. I love that it has apps that you can download onto your computer. it just adds to ease of use of the software.

Cons

This software is great to use but can always use improvements. The interface needs some work for the ease of navigating but overall its ok. It can be inconvenient when the system will glitch the call history and either switch numbers or not even record them. It can always use some work, but overall its a great program.

### "Great for small business"

It is great for a small business, but I have a feeling we will outgrow it soon. I do like the capability to text clients. It has served its purpose to get our spa up and running.

Pros

I love the texting capability we have to contact our clients. It is easy to forward when out of the office and easy to recall messages from clients.

Cons

I wish there were a way to block texts when our our spa is closed. I will get text from clients at all hours of the night. I wish there was a place to forward texts to when we receive them in our off hours. I feel the customer service is not great. I rarely call to get help with something and when I have the issue was never resolved.

Reason for choosing Grasshopper

Price point and user friendly.

Cons

Phone trees can be a little confusing. not much else i like it and we use it.

Only one of us is using it - and it works with only one person. it gets too complicated if you try and add a second person to the number. VERY CONFUSING SOFTWARE

Pros

I like how they transcribe voicemails and send them to your email. If I'm in a meeting and get a missed call and voicemail, I can just read the email and it will tell me what the caller said. I also like how you can manage the ring time.

Cons

The customer service is awful. They made me feel so dumb for not knowing how to setup a voicemail. Also, you have to prerecord or call into a number to record your voicemail, you can't do it on the app. It also is a pain because if someone calls you and you pick up, it is an automated person asking if you want to accept or decline... it just seems like a waste of time.

I like the voice mails emailed to me. I also like the professional voice on the greeting. It is pretty easy to add and remove voice mailboxes.

Cons

I cant figure out how to do away from office message with professional voice over. I also wish I could use caller id.

The ability to customize the software with extensions and operate a virtual office as a brick & mortar firm. I also like the "pop up" option in iOS platform when hovering over a phone number and having Grasshopper as an option to send the number directly to the Grasshopper app and make a call.

Cons

The extra pricing to include text messaging and the prescribed voicemail option. Would like to be able to send faxes.

I am able to run a text based wellness program for my clients, and the information does not come in via my personal phone line. It enables me to run that program from anywhere!

Pros

It's mobility. I can access it from my phone, laptop, anywhere. I love that I can receive texts and voicemails for my company and keep it all separate from my personal cell phone line.

Cons

The texting feature needs a major overhaul. There is no way to delete texts that are put into the "Done" category and very often incoming texts will automatically dump into the "Done" category before I can read them and move them myself.

Great product, very reliable, at a fair price point. Would recommend to anyone needing toll free that routes to employee phones. Who wants desk phones these days?

Pros

Grasshopper provides a reliable 800 (toll free) number and phone tree system with all the customization you would expect. Callers can access who they need to and search by name which is super helpful. For small companies this adds to the legitimacy of the business but toll free continues to help as the business grows.

Cons

Admin functions were historically awful but they have recently updated it. It was super confusing to set up new employees with an extension and voice.

We switched our phone line over from a much more expensive solution to this. It came at a fraction of the cost with most of the same capabilities, plus the Grasshopper account can be scaled up as needed. What's not to love!

Pros

Cheap and reliable. Platform experience that doesn't require onsite software. No hassle in the setup. Was able to switch our primary phone number over easily. Customers never noticed the difference!

Cons

Some of the more granular options that are found on an enterprise PBX solution aren't present on grasshopper, but that's usually to be expected when switching to a platform solution.

Overall the system is easy to operate. Good quality sound and a great value!

Pros

Easy to set up system. Flexible, easy to use system and to forward calls and access voice mail. Simple for clients to navigate system to contact individual persons with in the company.

Cons

The function of forwarding calls to individuals cell phones is not as clear as it could be to the end user as the caller ID only comes through as the company name or the recipients name since the call originated to the company, then the individual. The system does not track the caller ID of the actual caller when the call is forwarded so you are answering blind.

Pros

I like grasshopper the most because I don't have to carry two phones anymore. I can have one phone with two numbers, best of both worlds. The app works well for the most part. I can also receive faxes on my cell phone. That is huge.

Cons

There are some things I don't like however. I wish I could send faxes from the app. I also wish there was a way to get caller ID of incoming calls, along with know that the call is coming from my businesses line. Right now its either/or not both. That app hardly ever notifies me of voicemails.
